  • Awesome! It was a great show that night, as always!

  • Is it a distorted talk box?

  • Love the purity and depth of your sound - instrument and voice!

Love your CDs. Enjoy your live performances very much.

    Thank you!

  • pure talent, i want to see him live

  • video is oh so good! MS blows my mind every time I see him live. felt like being there. holy s***!! it would be awesome to see him do this number at the Park West in Chicago on May 15.

  • @colton422 ok the Chicago show is April 23. sorry for my earlier incorrect date. Park West is 4-23-10. can't wait!!

  • He uses a vocoder for the vocal effects. Apparantly lots of rappers are using this effect when mixing thier vocals in the studio. Martin has been using this effect for years now.

  • He doesn't use a vocoder. He just uses a distortion and mixes like you would a guitar and literally just sings.

  • You're exactly right jrossd. It's just distortion on the voice and a volume pedals to give the "open and close effect". No vocoder or talkbox.

  • This? This is WONDERFUL. Both his vocals and your caption deserve the highest praise -- man, that's what I call delight!

  • great video! thanks for posting :)

  • His bass lines are great and he's playing melody too. I watched this with my subwoofer on and it was amazing how it completed the viewing experience. It reminded me of standing in front of his speakers at a show. Thanks Fee!

  • this man is amazing. probably best singer/songwriter since paul simon

  • Yup

  • one of my fav. all-time artists playing one of my fav. all-time songs. thanks for uploading.

  • That's awesome. How is he making that lap steel sound thru the mic?

  • Not exactly sure what effect he is using, i do know he uses a pedal to open and close the effect. Kinda like Frampton, but then not really. Glad you dig it

  • Hey Fee, great video! I think that he's just using a distortion pedal, like a tube screamer, on the mic, and it looks like he's using a volume pedal along with it. I've been playing myself for almost 20 years, and that's the only thing I can think of! Frampton used a "talk box", which runs through the mic and the guitar, but Marty's effects are definately on the mic only. Keep all the great vids coming, can't wait to see him this fall! -Jason

  • @feetheweasel As usall, fee, effing magic - thx 4 all the Marty posts!
