The difference is enormous, viking swords were much shorter because they were one handed, the grip was small too, even for a shortshord, the blade was broader and the pommel was totally different :)

The grip is smaller yes, i own a viking sword myself which is identical to a sword that was found in Norway from around year 800, handmade in Norway. So i know what a viking sword looks like, its a bit shorter but not much.

There was also several types of viking swords, not all look the same. Some swords were big enough to use 2handed, several people in the sagas wield their sword 2handed.

Often vikings threw away their shield to use both hands for their weapon(axe,poleaxe,sword..) when they got berserkrien(rage), this is described in many of the islendingsagas and heimskringla. Though i doubt their grip was as big as this guys sword, that grip is huge.

actually berserkrers weres specially trained warriors, wearing wolf or bear skin (hence the name), sometimes naked and often without armour.

They took drug before combat (maybe some kind of mushroom), they didn't "become" berserk during combat, they were in this state of trance before the combat even began, bitting their shields...

Yes they did became berserk, i suggest you read the sagas, its clearly stated in several of them, Egil Skallagrimsson saga to name one.

There were vikings who specialized on berserking yes, but other vikings went into berserker rage sometimes aswell. 'Berserkrien' its called, its a state that they became while fighting, you can think of it as a super-angry state, they attacked everyone near them but once the state wears off they got very tired.

And yes, its said that those who specalized on berserking ate mushroom, some type of 'fluesopp' if my memory serves me right. The berserkers was those who usually attacked first. I doubt all of them fough without armor, never seen it been written in norse texts atleast, but they often wielded weapons 2handed and rarely used shields.

In Egil saga its described how Kveldulv and Skallagrim and several of their men is "taken" by the berserkrien and they all lost their mind and killed everything that got near them.

In this battle Kveldulv is wielding a Spearaxe 2handed(poleaxe is the english name i guess)

it also says that while a man is in 'berserkergang' he gets so strong that no one can stand in his way but when it wears off he gets more tired then usual.

In this part of the saga kveldulv hits Hallvard with his spearaxe on top of his head and cleaves through the helm and deep into the head of Hallvard, when Kveldulv tries to remove the axe its so stuck that he lifts up the corpse and the axe by lifting the axe and throws Hallvard's corpse off the boat and into the sea. Skallagrim makes a kvad(poem) of this, a part of it is 'Hallvard dø' for ut i sjø(which means Hallvard dead went into the sea.)

But your right about the wolfskin, the berserkers wearing wolfskin were called 'Ulvhedner' ulv=wolf hedner=headskin.

A little famouse part of a kvad about one of these berserkers is: 'Ulvhedner ulte og jern våpen skalv'(Ulvhedner howled and iron weapons shivered/shaked(means,the berserker made a wolf howl and people got so scared by it they started to shake with fear)

But the word 'berserk' has nothing to do with that, berserk in norse language means 'to become full/mad of rage'
