If I could live on what I take home after paying taxes I wouldn't have a problem with it. But I pay so much in taxs and stay right above the poverty line. It doesn't give me much room for suprises like more taxs, gas prices or medical emergencies. Sorry but I don't like taxs in any form.

i know the feeling. As a European entrepreneur I can empathize fully. But was has this to do with the plan to attack bonuses? Nothing. It's in part because of the Wall Street shenanigans caused by excessive bonuses that you and I will continue to pay high taxes in the future.

This crisis was created by wrong fiscal and monetary policies that created false prosperity on a infinite mountain of debt (both public and private). So why should i trust politicians? Tame them first!!

The EU mustn't take its eyes off the ball (which I'm afraid it has already): tax evasion (and tax havens) is THE real problem in world governance, because a) it deprives states of resources b) the tax load is transferred to those who can't/don't evade.

The more governments ignore this problem for fear of losing imp. financial support, the more the problem grows - and that goes for the US as well.

Putting caps on bonuses is a very good symbolic measure, but it doesn't go deep enough.
