Don't use thread lock, because you used the old shader valve. If that valve happens to leak, you are replacing the whole line. Evacuate the system to remove old valve and be sure to oil the O ring.
you should use a backup wrench on the stationary welded section of the old fitting to prevent the new fitting from snapping off the line..he just held the line not the fitting...
why would you do this ? the only reason to do this is because the refrigerant has leaked out and no longer works otherwise switching from R-12 to 134-A is not practical ,you must flush every speck of mineral oil out of the system and compressor then refill with synthetic oil designed for 134-A. I did this when I was in college in my h vac course and we used new material but changed the oil in the hermetic s it's a pain. if it's empty change everything out for new and avoid the head ache !
YOU HAVE TO BE THE STUPIDEST TECH IVE EVER SEEN....you cant just pop a new fitting on there to retrofit the a/c system...theres soooo much more that has to be done to the system Otherwise in a few months that whole system is going to be screwed over and its gonna be damn expensive
