sorry m8 but its dropped D tuning, it's easier to play in this tuning and it sounds lot better. bestides, in the intro you should let ring every single note, and try to play it on A,D and G string with your fingers. It sounds actually like on album. Try it out.

The effect of intro is very "ondulated", but when I try Fliyng Whales I liked... seemed to me suited to the song! XD

Really, it does fit, but it's kinda overdone I think, if you turned it down a bit it would sound better IMO.
