also without the apu or any electrics left lowering the flaps should have not worked or it didn't as there is no hydraulics. and if the APU is going enough for flaps and gear then the instruments would still be working. like if you do a midair shutdown with FOB and start apu you have all electrics and most hydraulics.

This is where trimming helps so you aint constantly fitting the controls and also loosing speeed from induced drag as the trim tabs are down or in oppsing force to the elevator tabs

The battery died due to the fact the copilot said they turned the apu on. But since it's a game nobody did this. So I never did this myself. Notice when I lowered the gear by hand. There is a function for this too, Since i had no power.

@420kmh APU = Auxiliary Power Unit, provides power using fuel on board in the event of a single/dual engine failure. Can't be used when there is a fuel leak, however, because the APU runs on jet fuel. That is to say, it can be used while the fuel leaks out but once the fuel is all gone is won't run. However, due to FSX's high level of unrealism you can even use the APU when there is no fuel on board. Hallelujah.

That guy who thinks hes so smart doesnt know that 1) the hydraulics are powered by either the engines OR electric pumps, but a RAT turbine automatically extends from the fuselage and provides electrical power in the event of an electrical failure. The APU is powered by the battery which quickly died when the plane's generators quit due to the failure of both engines.

well maybe im not true but i think that on air engines are still rolling because of speed so if you turn on ENG 1 and 2 generators they will produce electricity enough to turn on panels and make a more sure aprox ;) but anyway very good job ^^

Scary dude, almost skewed the landing on short final though! Great recovery! Took a long time to slow down without reverse thrust...especially at that speed. But amazing landing for a dual engine failure and no instruments, I have to have my instruments to land.... I have never been good with gliding in after engine failures. I have to pause the game and do some math to determine my decent glideslope and even then it's never perfect.

I was flying my a380 at 40,000 and i disconnected the autopilot and dived. I ended up going 700 knots and 2000 feet from the ground i put the engines at idle and full flaps and full spoilers and landed at 150 knots.

and second of all...if electronics failed how did u know what airspeed u had when u landed? also how did u control your decent if you didn't see your vertical speed indicator?

Hydraulic systems and other critical systems use APU (Auxiliary Power Unit) or RAT (Ram Air Turbine) to stay powered even when all engines stop turning. And as far as the speed and altitude is concerned: backup (old-school clock dial) instruments function entirely on a mechanical principle via change of air presure. In this case the blackout was caused because the APU was not started.

i did this landing about a minute ago but when imy engine 1 died i staye at 35000 because i didnt think i could glide there if i was at 10000. bad mistake. on 4 nm from runway i was at 17000 ft and i made a veryt steep dive.i made a fairly good landing i landed at 185 nm though. kinda fast but it was a good landing and very soft. good job deliveryguy.
