    now add planned obsolescence,bloatware etc.

look at the world is going downhill.

we have Monarchs today ahhahaha, how stupid.

  • I'll send you a cyberlink.

  • WHAT THE HELL !!! i just realised... this is JUST LIKE SIRI !!!!!!!!

  • Anyone else here from popular science?

  • hey its siri's smarter brother siro

  • Comment removed

  • technology makes people fat and lazy

  • With Siri

  • FaceTime on the iPad

  • siri -_-

  • Lol I am watching this on my iPod

  • It's Siri's older brother

  • I can DEFO use this...

  • smartphones....

  • for some reason apple has been right but microsoft fails at predicting the future. could apple be from the future?

  • woah you can print

  • unlike the ipad it has multi-tasking

  • Damn....

    Siri, iPad, and iCloud

Steve Jobs is predecting our future...

  • Just like Siri on iPhone

  • Ok, I've decided that I'll buy a tablet when the voice recognition system gets as good as this concept video :) (I hope that happens in less than 2 years)

  • Well, their expectations were just a little high, what with the intelligent conversation with computers. But, pretty close.

  • Funny how we have nearly everything in this video.. The iPad sort of thing is coming I reckon with Siri on it as its assistant.

  • this would get annoying

  • Welp, insteaed of Bill nye look-alike, we get siri. i can live with it...barely.

  • This was obviously just a concept video...

  • OMG siri O_o

  • wow, thank god for interface designers

  • Its Siri's daddy!

  • This actually happened with Siri and the iPad 2. But in a more elegant and compact form than what they imagined the technology would look like.

  • And Siri looks an awful lot like Bill Nye.

  • The future looks an awful lot like the 90s.

  • siri

  • now we near the future.iphone 4s with siri.Soon will be on ipad3.

  • interesting how they picked a black woman to narrate. At Wayne State University, in downtown Detroit, I did not see a single black woman in any engineering class. I'm sure there were non in any computer science class either. Yet Apple chose to use a black woman in the video. Why not use a talking rabbit? There are just as many talking rabbits as black women computer scientists and computer engineers.

  • @JCGMich29 Your are very stupid......

  • @__@ whooooooah

  • I am overwhhealm on how Science Fiction, became nowadays reality.. Apple is the best... I am changing.

  • "You'll hardly be able to notice you're online"

Well, I sure as hell notice when I'm not.

  • cute woman

  • Is that Captain Picard @10:45? Looks like All good things...

  • ipad, itouch, siri, icloud, wow apple nice guess

  • I hope SIRI delivers on this vision.

  • omg such bad acting!

  • Apple predicted the future. Originally the knowledge navigator was used in a keynote piece by John Sculley in '87.

  • awk.

  • WOW ... lots of apple prototypes and concepts... like the Prototype TAM (twentieth anniversary mac) the first one to have the precursor to Mac OSX

  • The years stop at 2010 at 4:26

  • what, no multi-touch or angry birds? weak.

  • Oh look... Apple has decided to play the interwebs viral / hoax game.

  • It's scary how accurate this is... A five-year-old article from 2006 sets the year of release for "The Knowledge Navigator" at 2011. It also happened to be September. Apple is currently releasing the iPhone 4S, with enhanced voice recognition. That makes the prediction one month off...

  • Now we have porn -_-

  • @ShadowMaster310 oh yeah baby

  • This has to be late 90's, since it mentions Yahoo!

  • @Zensunni42 - FWIW, the 1st video, Knowledge Navigator, dates from 1987. The second, The Moment of Discovery, dates from no later than early 1997. The kids in the forest are using what the Newton was becoming before the Newton Project was cancelled in 1997-8. The teacher's tablet is a design that dates approximately from -- wait for it -- 1989-90. It was code-named "Figaro".

Yahoo is a false scent here; they incorporated in 1995 and the search facility existed from that year.

  • @LordGroundhog In the first part of the video, where the woman introduces the video with the professor and the "intellegent agent", she mentions Yahoo. Yahoo was founded in 1994 by two Stanford Ph.D. candidates. It could not be from 1987. I don't know what you mean by 1st video and 2nd video, since I am only commenting on this one...

  • @Zensunni42 -- Look closer! This video has 2 videos embedded in it. The "envelope" video with the woman speaking is from early 1997. The woman is speaking at that time. *But she's talking about 2 embedded videos.* At 00:22 above she introduces the first one. It is copyrighted 1987 (on the original), which is when I saw it. (SEE v=3WdS4TscWH8 at 05:42). She introduces the 2nd one at 06:27 above. Copyright on its original is 1995. (See v=EJyRs7aAyGk at 06:24). Understand now?

  • @Zensunni42

I don´t find anything that calls yahoo. University research network.

beside, because the moderator says, the technology would not exist.

Yeah, they did not exist as a product for the market. But it existed in the Apple labs, like so many things, including large and flat touchscreen monitors. All complain about Apple's prices. But it is 1000 times more expensive to create things out of thin air, than to see something, take it apart and make something similar.

  • @Lightfromsirius Watch the video at around the 0:48 mark. The woman doing the introduction says "a search tool like Yahoo". Evidently this entire thing was put together using two videos, one supposedly from 1987, the rest from the late 90's

  • @Zensunni42

I had not paid attention to the testimony of the presenter. And yes, those are two movies cut together from different times. The Knowledge Navigator is from 1987. The film with the first tablet PC is much younger. The television report is younger again. Too bad that so many videos have been deleted. We would all be amazed if we knew what slumbers at Apple in the drawers.

  • @Zensunni42 the woman predicted the yahoo.yahoo was launched in 1994.

  • @Zensunni42 The programme featuring the video is, but the actual Apple concept video is from 1987.

  • @senzism From Yahoo's history page: "The two founders of Yahoo!, David Filo and Jerry Yang, Ph.D. candidates in Electrical Engineering at Stanford University, " There is no way that the video, where the woman talks about people having used a search tool like Yahoo, could have been from 1987. It has to be from after 1994, since Yahoo dodn't exist before then.

  • @Zensunni42 YES! I know, but the •actual• concept video by Apple has the date 1987 at the end... watch the original video (search for 'Apple Futureshock') and look at the very end credits (c) 1987 Apple Computer, Inc.

  • Comment removed

  • @Zensunni42 The first video of The Knowledge Navigator dated 1987.

  • System 7 skin for iPad... That's what I got from this video.

  • Google had it first with their Android

  • how did they know i used yahoo to find this video? :O!

  • LOL

  • So apple was giving sneak peaks for the iPad in the 90's? Awesome!

  • @JamesR624 Try the 80's

  • @TomHamRomero did this come out in 80's? wondering because yahoo came out in 1995 and she mentioned them.

  • @JamesR624

Yeah and I can make beleive crap that hasnt been created yet either -

doesnt mean that they invented anything. Any grade school kitty can dream of shit.

  • Ohmy.. this is actually amazing. :D

  • is it just me, or does Jill Gilbert's simulation of the spread of the Sahara desert look eerily close to what it looks like today?

  • god this is like OMG!

  • Ok, so they got it a year out. This video was set in 2010 and Siri's only come to us in 2011 via the iPhone 4S.

  • @Spanky2k no they got it a MONTH out. A few weeks to be precise.

The video asks for a file 5 years back on deforestation, and the article was in 2006. 2006 + 5 = 2011. On the Knowledge Navigator calendar, the month happens to be September. This video was based in September 2011. It was made in 1987. Siri was released October 2011. AMAZING. AMAZZZIIINNNGGGG.

Apple were a few weeks off, and they also knew deforestation was going to be an issue today. Apple is from the future?

  • @Sprok333 nope a year unfortunately. The date is "September 16, Wednesday", but this year september 16th was a friday. 2010 was it a wednesday...

  • @ifeelverygood

Wednesday, Sept 16th is actually 2009

  • @Sprok333 Maybe they've discovered time travel too. :p

  • @Spanky2k

Wednesday, Sept 16th is actually 2009

  • Now for iPhone 5! :)

  • Knowledge Navigator™ makes it easy to wake up at lunch time and make machines or other people do your work!

  • why did apple give up that sexy black imac design ? why rounded corners and so gay ? why?

  • this actually surprises me over a decade later and we have most of the stuff they are talking about, sure some things are off and a little wierd like the camera thing those kids were holding but they pretty much got it right im glad people do there homework and get stuff done in this world.

  • XD He said that the doctor or proffesor guy wrote the letter in 2006.The guy said to the knowledge navigator to search the message that 5 years old. So this video takes place in 2011? I WANT MY KNOWLEDGE NAVIGATOR!!!NOW!

  • @vajksziget7a Who needs knowledge navigator when theres Siri :D

  • @iJoel1994 So true!!! Very interesting coincidence... xDDD

  • What a douche

  • Can I get clippy instead of Bow-Tie Guy?

  • im gonna watch this next 10 years and be like ok then...

  • This is crazy cool to see a decade later. And yeah, watching it on the iPad is definitely a bonus. :)
