H-town is the City of Power. With SAM Racing there and tons of shops making badass builds, you can't help to run into some awesome rides. When I lived there it would be nothing to see 200-300 cars at a meet and 75% of them making close to 800-1200hp. Hell Late Model Racecraft has been building tons of cars making 1000-2000hp and alot of them for the street.
Well if I was looking for a car I would deff buy one where it doesn't need a whole lot of restoring. When I was looking for a new car (I have an 02 SS now) , I was finding LS1 Z28's for 3,4,5,6 grand. That's a good deal knowing how much power a stock LS1 can make, N/A. For my mods that I will be doing later on, I'll most likely do it myself with a help of a buddy to cut costs and time.
If you were REALLY looking for bang for the buck, a foxbody stang is the way to go.
Yes, I know, the boost isn't the only factor. It's also the turbo size. But its best to get a car where you can make the most power but minimize lag as much as possible. That is what i'd do at least.
But anyway, as I was saying, 99% of the time the muscle car is going to be the cheaper build. That is including buying the car and doing your own work. That's why alot of ppl with LS1's do H/C/I swaps. Pretty good mod for the money if done by yourself.

2nd, can you find a MKIV Supra for under 10 grand? I have yet to find one for under 15. That right there is alot of money, just buying the car. Not to mention the parts you have to buy.
Plus the LS1 doesn't even need nearly as much boost as those lower displacement motors. You are probably going to say, "can it hold?"
Why yes, a P1SC'd LS1 can make over 500rwhp on 7 psi and hold it.
dude i seen a supra take down an 8 sec shitstang and also seen an ams evo destroy 600 - 650 hp mustang with nos so that doesn't mean a supra and an evo can take down that camaro
and later on that night we pulled with the black evo from hell on the way back from mexico. supra was on c16 like he was when he raced inspector 12 evo was on pump not sure if meth was on or off. the evo pulled him by 3 or 4 cars
No because they're both from SA and they can run anytime they want. This was just about running different cars that you don't normally get a chance to run.
