  • @frigs123 no not mad, just using caps lock so people can see it clearly and dont waste there time on this bland ass recipe.

  • @frigs123 Troll.

  • @FlowerAmongThorns what you need to understand is that this recipe is just a basic batter for frying you could add whatever else you want in the batter salt pepper cayenne random shit

  • @BLeSSeDoGkUSH420 I fully understand that this is a basic recipe. but this isnt the 1950's anymore mate, food has come a long way. why cook this boring ass recipe when you can make something truly delicious

  • flour beer dash of oil salt

  • Thanks, will try.

  • cheerio very splendid

  • i made battered fish last night, and u know what, the fish fell right to the bottom of the frying pot and the batter would not stick on to it. I used flour, baking powder, salt and water for the batter. And I don't think pike is a good fish to use for fish and chips. What sort of fish have enough bouncy to float up like the ones in the video?

  • @freeloaner85 well i used fishfingers n it was reet

  • @freeloaner85 try to use tilapia..it taste good too..flaky and odorless

  • crap you dont know dounuts from fish batter, first is never do the batter tel ya ready;get ya beer as cold as yuo can and as gasy, the colderánd the more gas as in beer or say soda water, the beter you bater will react when it hits the hot oil',also try a pintch of bycardsoda and ateaspoon of custard powder'do not mix the lumps out keep it simple try it you will love it ,dont forgett cold as you can get it and as gassy

  • Excellent. videos like this help rubbish cooks like me improve. :)

  • Is it plain flour used or self-raising?

  • @dsw182 Its plain flour.

  • I love english accent enghlis people every thing about GGGGG.BRITIAN LOVE YOUR COOKING.YOUR VID SEEM VERY PROFESSIONAL

  • I think he has a Yorkshire accent, which is very clear.

  • You make it look easy!

I've tried battered fish and onion rings, with and without beer. The batter barely sticks to my onions and then I have barely battered onions rings with lots of fried batter floating in the oil.

The last time I made onion rings, I even added gluten flour to the regular flour, because gluten is so sticky. But the gluten made no difference and I still created a plate of barely battered onion rings.

This sounds like the beginning of a quest.

  • before you try to batter the fish or onion rings dust in dry flour first then batter this will make the batter stick..!

  • A shame someone else beat me to giving you 5 stars.. This video really rocks!! Thanks for sharing this.. !!

  • What? did he think it was going 2 be cold...lol

  • awesome guy huh :)
