I think its kinda funny but everybody rallies to "Save Saab" but nobody will put their money where their mouth is enough to BUY one...and that's why they are leaving the automotive landscape. "Quirky and weird" cars have a hard time finding a place in the market.

But let's be honest. They got a bit too "luxurious". Nobody's going to pay $40k+ for one. I know I wouldn't. It's why I'll buy it when it's cheap after typical Saab rock-in-water depreciation lol

It's a really great car, I would definitely have one over the Insignia. But it's just too expensive. A tired little 2.0 with almost 9 seconds from 0-62 is almost 50.000 Euros. For that money I want rear wheel drive. Sure, you can have the XWD ones, but they are even more expensive.
I was never a fan of SAAB's, but when I saw in the street one day, it looked so good, I did not care if it drove well or if it was fast. I just loved looking at it and I would love see some businessmen switching from all the BMW's to this. Would definately make better image than Beemer :D

The dutch man in an other review had the saab 9-5 of Viktor (the boss of saab/spyker). I like this car. I love the one with the bi fuel (benzine and e85 (ethanol).

I've tested this car and it's wonderfull in all respects. Absolutely the best car they've made and for sure the best all around car i've ever driven. The thing has a death grip on the road and the 300hp engine will keep you pressed against the seat asking for more fun. Don't knock it till you've tried it all you haters out there.

@harri38 To make new parts, where its allready good enough parts as it is, is just bad buissniess. ofc most brands are splitting the costs to build a platform or share some parts, when it does the same job.. @mark1simon Calling it an Insigina is a bit crude although there is a lot of GM DNA. The steering wheel and rear seat entertainment is shared with the Buick Lacrosse for example.
@cm18cam l've spent more time than ever before test driving, reading up on and looking at our needs for a family car, and while l was at 1st put off by the green lighting, l test drove the new 9-5 Aero at night and instantly got the green lighting - at night, it is much easier on the eyes and relaxing than white or red such as used in the Audi or VW, and the white used in MB & Cadillac. the new Aero will be our next purchase in a few months. l can't wait.
People who think this car is strange, that's because it is strange. Saab has been the quirky brand in the past making distinctive cars and that was the selling point. It was different. Personally, it looks great, but I would have it more daring. However, that would diminish the sales because of the majority.
