  • I enjoy myspace way more but since im 13 i have way more friends on facebook because every young person i now has a facebook because everyone thinks facebook is better and safer but cant even prove it because alot of them r fuckin idiots and cant back themselves up could someone please tell me y its safer and the advantages BTW I think that socail networking will increase but not enough to go to such affect that people will just be like zombies on their facebook and the stupid useless twitter!!!

  • The point with social networking sites like Facebook isn't just to talk to friends (although it's important still.) Quite a few people have friends all over the country and even the world and it is not possible to go see them face to face as we wish.

People also use Facebook as a resource for connecting with schools and employment groups.

It's not the website itself that is a waste of time--it's just how some people use it :)

  • Well, personally, I like talking face to face. You can become more involved in the conversation, and body language plays an important role (have you ever tried to tell the difference between sarcasm and sincerity without body language? It's hard!) Anyway, with the way things are going now in the UK, with an economic crisis, people will be staying home, instead of going out and socialising because of a lack of money, and with swine flu, we'll be forced to socialise online.

  • public announcment: i have a myspace :P

  • good topic and well put! I agree with you, I think there is a definate trend at the moment to move away from face to face contact. And more and more things being invented to eliminate the need for it. Look at internet shopping, you can even get someone at tesco to go round the store and do your shopping for you, then drive it to your door! And here in the UK we're seeing post offices closing as more and more of their functions are done online, like car tax, family allowance etc. Sad really :(

  • Still, if I want to see my friend, I go to see him/her face to face and not via webcam or something.

  • talking to a webcam ahhahaha

  • year book n my year book rule too

  • we are going to be cloned and be killed by our clonings and eventually the clonings will destroy animals and then destroy everything and thn they will drop atomic bob on earth that will destroy themselfs and the earth thats whats going to happend for me xD

  • I have 2 Myspace Pages :P

I have a facebook too... but I hate it

Myspace has always been better :)

  • A very good topic to muse over. Great insight!!

  • I don't see the point with all these social networking sites. I would rather see my friends face to face then talk to them on the internet. They are a waste of time I reckon. I hope they are die out in later years.

  • Tell me about it.

  • well about the future...I think we are going to get to a certain point that the we will have to go back to the "stone age" ...Technology is going to get so so so idk like bigger..whats the world i am looking for? well that it will just end up on a caos.

  • it will just end up on a taco

  • myspace is still very popular.. its very music focused now.

  • Facebook, as far as I know, may have more features compared to myspace. A lot of my schoolmates have facebook accounts, almost half of them, while I'm sticking to friendster and multiply. Now I'm not sure what may happen to these sites, but as long as these sites attempt to improve their features, one site would always get a "draft" or boost depending on what features people want nowadays.

  • this is called cyber buling

  • Myspace is dieing out? I guess I havent noticed...

  • If you have something to say who cares what the form is . Iam 50 plus and I think any form of communication is good.

  • So although there have to be limits - for example; not spending 24 hours indoors on MSN - I think online communication is nothing but good. I love meeting new people all over the globe, and I think many people can learn allot from long-distance communication.

  • No No, I mean you'll Actually have sex!

    I mean physically!!

I am just saying but maybe that will happen lol

  • I still prefer face-to-face interaction. I only use these sites to keep in touch with other people - I like to use Skype and MSN to talk in "real time".
