  • what a gift that you didnt choose the song. everyone should have some CT in their life!

  • It may be your first, but it's beautiful and evocative.

  • and why not?

  • After all those years, thanks god, the coctaeu songs still sound so pure, goes directly to you inner light and make it shine for a while...thank you...

  • I have loved the Cocteau Twins since I was fifteen years old! I saw them live. Met everyone too. It is a day I will never forget!

  • This video is a true depiction of the Cocteau Twins project; The ultimate breakdown between signifier and signified. All discourse is an intertextual play of signifiers on a level surface without depth and without a foundation.

  • @wildechild76 You sound like a right bell end.

  • @wildechild76

yes you are right, today there are few people who can see the context of the meaning of the Cocteau Twins sound, something ethereal.. I Love Cocteau Twins forever

  • You wrote that you didn't pick the song. Whoever did has great musical taste.

  • is there another song written , except by the twins , that exudes so much feeling ........dont think so ................. love the twins ............. the soundtrack of my night

  • this video is wiggity whack. good song though

  • fantastic!!!

It's other musical level....I mean the highest

  • this aint funny

    because they took

    his/her money

    and stuffed it up

    their nose

    better service...old ideas

  • I always imagine the searing guitars at the end as being part of the onset of some biblical apocalypse. Absolutely fantastic! :)

  • Great video, capturing the intrigue and

feeling of unreality of the song. Like an

    Ambien dreamscape.

  • great

  • great little film to a great song

  • THIS IS SO AMAZING AND BEAUTIFUL! I FEEL BLESSED TO HAVE WATCHED THIS! The Twins would nod in affirmation.

  • es Konstantin Raudive

  • At 3:02 does anyone else see a face -- kind of like a blue face with yellow eyes -- in the window?

  • Love it!

  • Surreal!

  • Only LOVE and cross over music...thanks

  • cexleltn diveo

  • there is a remix from Paris and Healey. Does anyone have it?

  • You could have let the cat out of the box!

    Love, W Heggie

  • The music and the video are a very strange fit. There were a few parts that kind of worked, but overall, no real melding of sound and sight. Did the idea for the fucked up letters stuff come from Liz's indecipherable vocals? I'm curious to see videos where you did pick the song.

  • The video is A-l-m-o-s-t there :-)

  • impressive video. you have talent. keep at it.

  • You should have picked this song. It's a great song.

  • The song IS their best, and this video somehow works, with it's rich colors.

  • In my opinion the most euphoric song that Cocteau Twins ever made.

  • @Funkywallot

    .......ruined in a day

  • keep listening - liz don't stop

  • @Funkywallot Top 3 for sure.. Lazy Calm and Cherry Coloured funk are there too.

  • who the hell is robin guthrie?

  • One of the founding members of the Cocteau Twins. Wikipedia will help. I think he also has a myspace page.

  • I'm just here for the music. This song is brilliant.

  • is that the real video?

  • I could make a better video than this crap! (and that's not saying much) Beautiful song though...Does she just make words up?

  • Most attempts at deciphering the lyrics are disappointing, yet this one phrase at 1.00 is convincing (to me) that she's saying something:

I've seen these all my life, perhaps some more

And I have been so naive

    In the refrain I hear

    (????).. outside me

    Throw Off My Heart

(some say it's "Grow Up", but you know, Liz has a weird accent)

  • The idea for the video is not bad but it just has nothing to do with that music. The juxtaposition makes the video looks worst than it is. Maybe some early stereolab?

  • Absolutely love this song. Got the album when it vane out but for some reason it driftes out of my mind but so glad to have it back. Thanks so much for posting the song.

Now, lets discuss the video? perhaps not. Dont want to ruin my good mood.

  • Here's to the lack luster response previous to mine -- Guess your just stuck in a loop of it aren't you then?!

Halloween always includes the Cocteau Twins -- crosses stylistic bridges and barriers -- my deepest thanks to your voices and sounds.

  • So the stupid cow didn't realise she lived in the same house as Robin Guthrie?

The parcel contained 3 bottles of scotch and a bag of heroin.

  • Good one

  • Freaking beautiful... I bought the record when it came out. I have loved Cocteau Twins once I listened to them in the right condition. When I first heard them I was too indoctrinated with popular music and Liz's sound was too much for me... But listening to Treasure in 1988 on something with initials broke my barriers and I have never looked back... Wonderful to see all the fans on youtube...

  • @allgoraro Thank God you came to your senses!!

  • @88poppies :)

  • This is lovely. Justice done to a classic song.

  • nice!

  • well done

  • i cant imagine what kind of video would match up with a cocteau twins song.

  • Wonderful music, totally encharnting. I remember It was used in a T.V advert in the UK (which one I can't remember)

  • it was for market kitchen on uktv food

  • Miss Lindsay Corbett--you look gorgesous in this video. If you weren't such a good actress, I would think that you missed your calling as a model.

  • ahahahahahaha

  • can't fault your taste in music but this vid just doesn't go with the beauty of the song. (Like the "Heggie Missing" touch tho...) ;o)

  • no shit this vid blows like a 2nd year film student!

  • fine!!!

  • This is my favourite song ever. More than any other on earth. I'm not sure what they've got in heaven but they've got some competition down here.

    b.t.w cute video.

  • The video is cool, but I really don't feel as if it fits the song that well at all. I don't don't feel an audiovisual connection.

  • You've got a real talent there. Excellent shooting and editing. I agree with the above poster and it's a pity you don't like CT, I'm another fan of their music. I think your college gave you an assignment not entirely to your liking but you turned out a gem anyway, well done!

  • I love the video! It is a little slow in the middle, but it has an esoteric strangeness that matches CT music.

  • coming back from the hacienda, bang on this and drift away!!! perfect !!

  • LOVE this song, great vocals and music, but the video is a little dull. Not bad, an interesting interpretation but not much going on to engage the viewer.

  • It's a well shot video. From your comment i get the impression you don't like the song much, which is a shame since it is a good un. A love of the song would show in the video. (I envisioned a nymphette dancing in the summer rain in the twilight in a field of bluebells. Can you not get Lindsay to do that?)
