Taking out music makes for better anime, it seriously sucks having songs that can defeat armada's. I love anime but that is the worst thing about the macross series. It does my head in when decent actions scens are cut up with singers.

Macross plus had no music weapons at all and in macross 2 music was useless.... the only ones I can say that suck because of the music are fronteir and Macross 7 (7 is probably one of the worst anime I have ever seen but it does have a few catchy songs)

We can't blame BW for not wanting to play ball hg because hg has been a joke ever since in the animation industry. Failed projects and ONE crappy sequel in more than 20 years. That's all hg can offer.

After so many cancelled and failed projects, the guy gave up because he knew he could not write a decent story all by himself even if his own life depends on it. That's why the guy has to edit the work of others to come up with something decent (except for robocrap because it was editing gone terribly wrong).
Robotech was to most interested americans at the time an incredible thing. It was one of the best times of my childhood. Which is why it confused the hell out of me when I got Macross Plus and was told that it was the sequel. haha. Once I found the real spirit of Macross though there was no turning back. I feel nostalgic with robotech but with Macross, I leave with real life lessons.
Overall if you're a fan of either series, You can probably say "Where were you when Fokker got shot" hahaha!
