I somewhat agree with you. Though I was just saying that america seems to mostly sticks to their own genres like shooters. But on the other hand japan made Gran Turismo and Mario 64, most of western iterations of those genres came afterwards maybe so you could have a point. However at this point I don't think Mega Man barely deserves to be called better than Halo.

Actually, you CAN compare the two based on the pros and cons of each. Which game series has been around longer? Which series has stood the test of time? Don't pull the old "graphics are better so the game is better" nonsense -- fancy eye candy doesn't make a game great, it only adds to the gameplay. Halo has its merits, namely excellent online play and a compelling storyline; Mega Man has his merits, namely challenging platforming and the boss weapon system.

Heh, you make a good argument. But comparing old-school games to next-gen games are kinda like apples and oranges. Both were made with different stories,both are different types of games, both with different plots, and most importantly both are developed on different architectures based on the time their made.
In my opinion, Megaman did more with less, and Halo did less with more. Ignoring nostalgia, the two series are somewhat balanced. With nostalgia, Megaman is better, and with the attitude that graphics=fun, Halo is better. This is why "old-school" gamers like megaman and younger gamers like Halo.

Well I'm an old-school gamer, but I don't think that halo sucks. I think that megaman is overall more entertaining, but some 12-year-old would be crying after 5 minutes due to the lack of hi-def graphics. I just think that we shouldn't expect this generation to enjoy last generation games, whether they are "better" or not.
im 14 and i started with Super Mario World and Sonic the Hedgehog, pretty awesome game, i also started with Mega Man 7 i found it incredible, so for me the NES ones are freaking EPIC!

Online play is a merit of Halo; it's a fact. Halo forever altered the video game landscape with its groundbreaking online multiplayer. People don't play games "cuz of its vehicles and guns." There are countless games with those elements that have nothing like Halo's popularity.
Halo also has a reasonable plot with its own unique characters, which is almost more than Mega Man had for some time (Classic series anyone? Same old "Wily's Revenge" plot time and again).
You can't just say that because a game isn't Mega Man, it automatically sucks. That's not right and doesn't do justice to some of the more recent great games.
Yes, I believe Mega Man trumps Halo. But Halo doesn't suck, either.

With that being said...Mega Man has always bee one of my favorite video games. I grew up playing the classic ones on the NES so seeing Mega Man 9 come out pumped me up. It's a great game.

theres a video that has tornado man hornet man and magma man's level and it starts at the very start of tornado's level. the loop at 1:15 is supposed to be at the beginning of the song as well

I somewhat agree with you. Though I was just saying that america seems to mostly sticks to their own genres like shooters. But on the other hand japan made Gran Turismo and Mario 64, most of western iterations of those genres came afterwards maybe so you could have a point. However at this point I don't think Mega Man barely deserves to be called better than Halo.

American lacks in other genre of games because i think they focus to much on first person shooters. which i thing american creators have perfected. halo is a good first person shooter but not the best. you cant compare these 2 games actually. Because they are 2 different games,2 different game type and from 2 different time. Halo is an fps and megaman is an side scrolling game. I like both of the games but classic still owns where new generation games are cool(or awsome).

Actually, you CAN compare the two based on the pros and cons of each. Which game series has been around longer? Which series has stood the test of time? Don't pull the old "graphics are better so the game is better" nonsense -- fancy eye candy doesn't make a game great, it only adds to the gameplay. Halo has its merits, namely excellent online play and a compelling storyline; Mega Man has his merits, namely challenging platforming and the boss weapon system.

Both were made with different stories,both are different types of games, both with different plots, and most importantly both are developed on different architectures based on the time their made.

In my opinion, Megaman did more with less, and Halo did less with more. Ignoring nostalgia, the two series are somewhat balanced. With nostalgia, Megaman is better, and with the attitude that graphics=fun, Halo is better. This is why "old-school" gamers like megaman and younger gamers like Halo.

Halo is Boring its all action but no fun i hate those type of games graphics dont matter id choose an 8-bit fun game over a boring 128-bit anyday and im a all around gamer.these games were made by experts halo was made easy the just put in w/e Halo=junk ppl like it cuz u can go in vehicle and use guns so what it has no real plot sure it has a storyline but it doesnt have any sense of fun in it ive played it and seen not a bit of fun in it.Megaman is a true classic Period.and the Most FUN Ever!!!

Well I'm an old-school gamer, but I don't think that halo sucks. I think that megaman is overall more entertaining, but some 12-year-old would be crying after 5 minutes due to the lack of hi-def graphics. I just think that we shouldn't expect this generation to enjoy last generation games, whether they are "better" or not.

im 14 and i started with Super Mario World and Sonic the Hedgehog, pretty awesome game, i also started with Mega Man 7 i found it incredible, so for me the NES ones are freaking EPIC!

Online play is a merit of Halo; it's a fact. Halo forever altered the video game landscape with its groundbreaking online multiplayer. People don't play games "cuz of its vehicles and guns." There are countless games with those elements that have nothing like Halo's popularity.

Halo also has a reasonable plot with its own unique characters, which is almost more than Mega Man had for some time (Classic series anyone? Same old "Wily's Revenge" plot time and again).
You can't just say that because a game isn't Mega Man, it automatically sucks. That's not right and doesn't do justice to some of the more recent great games.
Yes, I believe Mega Man trumps Halo. But Halo doesn't suck, either.

He cant post a video explaning how it is fun. People find different things fun and that's where opinion comes into play. You can like whatever you want, but just because YOU dont like a specific game doesn't mean it sucks. Halo does something right seeing how so many people play it and enjoy it.
With that being said...Mega Man has always bee one of my favorite video games. I grew up playing the classic ones on the NES so seeing Mega Man 9 come out pumped me up. It's a great game.

This isn't unknown track, it's Tornado Man's theme. If you watch the first gameplay video which introduced Tornado Man's and Hornet Man's stages you'll hear this in Tornado Man's stage.
