I totally agree, I can't believe they are still considering this. In the case of child porn, they may turn to making it themselves. In the case of regular porn, it'd just make the allure greater, the theory of 'you can't have it, so it's super great!'.

While you've taken a very emotive tone with this video and issue, I think it's very well presented and raises a very important point.

Internet censorship - any censorship - is not acceptable within Australia, or anywhere in fact. Education is the key, not censorship with side effects such as slower speeds, holes and worst of all, restrictions of freedom of speech.

The Liberals thought about it, and realised it was a bad idea. So they offered filtering software at a local level. Meaning if you want to filter for your kids, you can download free filtering software from Govt website and install it on your PC instead. You had the choice to filter.

Rudd wants to filter at an ISP level. Trying to push it through without being noticed. His approach is NOT opt-in. Its not even opt-out. Its mandatory whether you like it or not. And that's just plain wrong.
