  • @MrPooface11 yeah dude, handstands help too! but the best way is to lean forward a lot from pushup position, practice a lot, and don't give up. and yes, i'm the guy in the video!

  • its been a month and a half of training for me. tryin to find ppl to share their experiences and not big words of knowledge so i can get a good sense of how its supposed to feel during training.

    right now i can stay balanced for a while but trying to do pushups during planches will make me fall. so for sure i know its not just about balancing.

  • whoa this video's from when i was like 15-16, and it doesn't matter how i do it, it kept me in good shape. i'm at UCLA now, in better shape than most, is there anything you want me to do to change the world?   • Hey, I can planche but when I do my arms are like bent alot. How do u fix it so that it's nice and straight?

  • just work out with planche pushups,(not full planche) give an intense workout with it, and youll feel which parts are strained the most, iv done it 2 days ago and the most noticable strain is the frontal deltoid, as well as back. not much on pecs for me since i bench but that doesnt help, oh and also the frickin wrists always hurt lol

  • I find the answer to sore wrists is either to go up on the fingertips, which also hits the forearms harder, or to go up on the fists with straight wrists. In the first version, you run the risk of overextending your fingers. The latter version provides less surface area for balance, so you have to pay closer attention to avoid tipping over. Just a thought.

  • Nice work... but you shouldnt use your feets on flex for this.

  • Not trying to bomb on you but you need to have straight arms they are partially bent.

    Other than that EXCELLENT work on body controll and even acheiving the planche.

  • You cant bench press for planches. You need to have a lot of shoulder strength for them. So bench pressing is basiclly useless.... :/

  • you need some at least, shoulders are just for keeping your body straight, benching is just to keep your body up

  • wrong, shoulders are the most tensed up muscle when doing planches.

  • Surely provides a good base for the push up part of the manoeuvre, though.

  • IMO, the most important factors in this stance are 1.the strength of ur arms; 2.the bearing-capacity of ur elbowjoint and wist. if u're able to get a secure grip and straighten the two arms, a slight forward lean and ur lowerbody will just float in the air

  • first your hands should be around ur waist and slightly have ur ends bent in slightly towards you. regular pushups with that hand position helps. You also want to control your breathing

  • pecs arnt really that used in planche pushups/ and handstand pushups. Its just mostly shoulders ( deltoid anterior ) and the triceps. But only half of the triceps.

    And if you wanna train for it, do this exercise then.... :/

    No. Just practice this exercise and you will be able to do it. And maybe in a few months you can do this,. kind of stuff. :D

    and lseat on your fingertips, it helps with height

    and work press to handstand a lot and do lots of pushups.lol

    also doing Elbow levers or stabs to Handstand help

  • No wonder. He trains for capoeira... you can tell because of the way he goes about using a particular motion in order to utilize his body's momentum. It's a trick common to capoeira practitioners. Also, capoeira requires a degree of planching ability.

  • dude holding yourself in a position, and shifting your body around in fast momentum are two different things. lol so if you can planche doesn't necessarily make flares easier. i mean, a lil bit...but not much.
