Whatever the male sons-of-bitches in that cell intended, one thing is doubtless: These particular deputies, & for all we know maybe ALL Stark County sheriff deputies, are woefully untrained in prisoner strip practices. I'm sure they are accustomed to this method, but it is incompetent. Everything that you can think of, to make the strip as painful & scary as possible for the person being stripped, happens here.

The latest on this is that Steffey's lawyers have now put up a billboard to try to find other women who have been victimized by the Stark County jail.

And tips that someone has drugs or weapons on them, they are strip for officer and other inmate safety. Policy, flat out simple policy.

The tape is also NEVER supposed to leave the prisoner. Which this one does.
Just because this is on video does NOT mean its legal. This is against the law, there have been MANY cases like this one that have paid out in lawsuits.
Plus the fact that this video was NOT released until Steffey's lawyers filed specifically for it. They had to ask twice, good thing they did huh?
FIVE other women have come forward with similar complaints, including one that WORKS in corrections.
Sheriff's dept claimed they would release "missing" video, only then to claim during grand jury investigation that it was "non-existant".
Camera for unknown reasons failed to record the exact time Steffey claims she was assaulted, but THEN camera starts working again JUST as they force het to the bunk to strip her.
This is no more than you would expect from the American injustice system and its state Nazi's, but on the other hand it's an ill wind that blows no good.She could make a career out of this. Get some actors and reconstruct the strip search on Blu-Ray with better production and i'll be the first customer. Remember to get all the dialog, moans and screams in the right place just like the original though.

Just today I called the sheriffs dept again today and got hung up on again by the sheriffs secretary AGAIN, when I asked if they were still having men strip women. She said no then slammed down the phone.
So I called back and asked not to be hung up on again.
Then I called the jail and found out she lied. They are STILL doing this.
Sure call these people and just ask what has to be done to stop the Stark County Sheriff from having men strip women naked and leave them for hours at the jail.

Whatever the male sons-of-bitches in that cell intended, one thing is doubtless: These particular deputies, & for all we know maybe ALL Stark County sheriff deputies, are woefully untrained in prisoner strip practices. I'm sure they are accustomed to this method, but it is incompetent. Everything that you can think of, to make the strip as painful & scary as possible for the person being stripped, happens here.

The mere fact that the cameras "weren't working" and that this issue had not been rectified PRIOR to conducting an interview/search (ie. use another handheld camera - they don't get just 1 crim a day, do they?) shows negligence and WITNESS TAMPERING. Everything that occurred in that room (and with other officers leading up to this event ie. the dashcam..) can only be substantiated as hearsay due to THEIR negligence with THEIR equipment.
If this department can't use evidence RELIABLY, who's to say that they won't arrest a member of the public under false pretenses?

Stark County has ANOTHER dead inmate...and lawsuit...this one they had held for THREE DAYS for a misdemeanor, just like the lawsuit the Russian woman won, she was held for three days for a home schooling issue.
WHY would anyone be held for DAYS for a misdemeanor?!?!? And THEN they wonder WHY they are getting sued so much??? DUH!
Montgomery County handles THREE times the people that Stark County does, and yet they have NO incidents.

I have seen most of the evidence, at least what I can get them to turn over to me with FOIA requests.
There are pix with EIGHT people taking her to the cell.
I have more than this one video posted, I have posted others that show the cops LIED.

The FBI is "investigating", but they seem to be getting their "evidence" from the same place as the BCI did, the sheriff's dept, so no hope there.
I have heard that the Ohio Atty General is investigating this again, but haven't heard anything.
And the Bureau of Adult Detention is supposed to be changing the policies of the jails.

Swanson, Sheriff over all of his worthless and lowly educated deputies with guns. This is what you can expect from deputies when you call them for help in Stark County Ohio. You call them to help you and they arrest you and sexually assault you. The worthless deputies don't even question orders or procedures. Hell, they can't even arrest the right person.

The latest on this is that Steffey's lawyers have now put up a billboard to try to find other women who have been victimized by the Stark County jail.
They don't have any other way of finding out who they are, because the sheriff is saying that it violates privacy laws.
Hey, I get that, but what I don't get is HOW the sheriff can then turn around and release whatever information he wants to try to put his dept in a better light, even with a court gag order.

Well mjpsv the citizens ARE stupid, they re-elected this criminal last November.
And yes he was being protected, by the county prosecutor, and by the BCI investigators from the state.
Plus the Sheriff's Dept itself was withholding information from the Grand Jury investigation.
All I can say is that it must be GREAT for the sheriff's Dept to be in complete control of all the evidence against them!!!

WHY did Steffey's lawyers have to file specifically to get the video?
And once they turned over the video WHY was the beginning "missing"?
Then WHY did the sheriff wait 6 MONTHS, during the grand jury investigation, to THEN say the beginning wasn't "missing", but was now "non-existent"?
He didn't KNOW months before that the video was "non-existent"?!?!?!

I have relation that are cops and I have friends that I have worked with for years that are County Deputies. Plus I have friends and have people I know that work in Corrections.
This kind of BS puts all of them in a bad light and puts them all at more risk.
This idiot sheriff is bragging that they have naked inmates at the jail, even as corrections experts across the country are condemning his actions!!

Im 100% agree with you. If these cases are not punished, the other honest police departments loose the credibility and respect because of these criminals. Results, the citizens loose respect and trust for all police forces and the cop killers, lack of respect attitudes, etc will increase. Got some more documents from the sheriff's office.
Of course I didn't get everything I asked for.
Got a copy of the BCI investigation.
The sheriff has always maintained that Steffey was ASKED to remove her cloths and refused.
According to the BCI document Steffey was NEVER asked to remove her cloths!
This is from THEIR OWN REPORTS!!
So how the hell is the sheriff still selling this LIE?!!??!
This isn't the only lie this documentation exposes, there are more.

Why do you think the lawsuit has been delayed at least 3 times that I know of?
The county insurance agency is in negotiations with Steffey's lawyers now trying to keep it out of the courts.
The only reason its taking so long is probably the huge numbers involved.
I'd love to be rich enough to give her dough, just to keep it in court

So as a lawman for YEARS, he didn't KNOW that ALL information given to a grand jury can NOT be released?
NOW he claims that once the lawsuit is over everything will 'come out', when he KNOWS this is a LIE too.

I hope this lady manages to sue each of those worthless cops for all they have and goes after the city/town as well! This is mental abuse that will stick with this young woman the rest of her life! What they did to Hope is very similar to a strip search yet Suicide prevention allows male policemen to strip a woman. Now doesn't common since tell you this policy needs to be changed? There is a reason they don't want males stripping women. It sickened me to see a large male officer with his big hands all over a helpless woman taking off her panties and bra strap. The woman could have been sedated. If she was a suicide risk, she could have been watch over by a female officer until loved ones were notified and the situation defused. Staffing a policewoman with her and keeping her clothed would be cheaper then The cost of mental health and a possible law suit .

There is more civilized alternatives to what happened. Policies need to be reviewed and changed. You dont throw 7 people on a woman and have several large "men" remove the bra and panties of a small woman and humiliate her on a cold cell floor. Then leave her naked in a room. They ruined her mentally. She's worst then a rape victim. She will need years of counciling for mental health and will never be the same.

They claim she was ASKED to remove her cloths, but it is CLEAR that was a lie, and she had no idea what was going on.
A retired police trainer said it was apparent that they had done this many times before.
And knowing that, I believe their actions were meant to deliberately punish & humiliate her.

Stark sheriff's deputies file lawsuit over Hope Steffey case. A lawsuit claiming defamation and invasion of privacy was filed Thursday in Stark County Common Pleas Court against a Cleveland television station and its owners.
The plaintiffs are six Stark County sheriff's deputies " Kristin Fenstemaker, Laura Rodgers, Tony Gayles, Richard T. Gurlea Jr., Andrea Mays and Brian Michaels " whom the lawsuit states suffered humiliation, severe emotional distress, disrepute in the community.

I think the fact that there are male officers present is more than disgraceful. In australia, even a basic search on a female can only be conducted by a female officer. This isn't the ONLY incident like this in Stark County.
They have already paid out a settlement for three teen girls that were strip searched, before this Steffey case.
Then after the Steffey case FIVE more women came forward, including one that WORKS in corrections.
A woman that is suing turned her self in was immediately cuffed & arrested and thrown in jail. Then they claimed she was suicidal and had her stripped for THREE DAYS!!
This sheriff is named in a half dozen lawsuits.

The reason they video tape everything in jails/prisons is to show they are doing nothing wrong. This video tape shows they are doing things by the book - it's what their jobs is. Try walking in their shoes for one night.
If she'd been quiet and co-operate with the strip search, this would have never happened.
And tips that someone has drugs or weapons on them, they are strip for officer and other inmate safety. Policy, flat out simple policy.

The tape is also NEVER supposed to leave the prisoner. Which this one does.
Just because this is on video does NOT mean its legal. This is against the law, there have been MANY cases like this one that have paid out in lawsuits.
Plus the fact that this video was NOT released until Steffey's lawyers filed specifically for it. They had to ask twice, good thing they did huh?

Just today I called the sheriffs dept again today and got hung up on again by the sheriffs secretary AGAIN, when I asked if they were still having men strip women. She said no then slammed down the phone.
So I called back and asked not to be hung up on again.
Then I called the jail and found out she lied. They are STILL doing this.
I hope the taxpayers have deep pockets!!
