And still to this day West Ham United are still the only team in England to have produced 3 World cup winners and are massively responsible for ENGLANDS 1966 VICTORY its written in our history.
Celebrated in 2 statues, outside Wembley and The Champions stautue Green Street,Barking.East London West Ham.
@viewfinder777 {2 of 2} I've long been a Chelsea supporter though & certainly have issues with the current ownership structure of Fulham FC but must say still have affection for the Fulham of my youth.
@BigDon62 Hammers fans dont care about him playing for Fulham cause we only support 1 team WEST HAM UNITED,as for you if your a Chelsea fan why you interested in Fulham MAKE YA MIND UP.Just for your information I knew Bobby Moore personally,I know the Moore family,I know his daughter Roberta she's a hairdresser, and her son Freddie Bob's grandson.
Anyway the best and most glorious part of Bobby Moore's career was with West Ham and England.
@viewfinder777 Yes you do seem to be a died in the wool Upton Park fellow. You ask why I seem to have a foot in both camps re. Chelsea v Fulham. Even though I'm Fulham born I've mostly been a Chelsea man, but had a dalliance with Fulham when Bobby Moore came to Craven Cottage, you ought to feel proud one man could sway a fan such. Good to know your a friend of the family.
@viewfinder777 {1 of 2 } Got news for you mate, it is written in history that Bobby Moore played for Fulham from '74 until '77 it's not a case of sharing Moore with anyone, don't be blind to history. As a lad that grew up in SW6 am glad to have had the privilege to clock Bobby Moore out & about in Fulham. Let's just say he was one the finest examples of a footballer that ever lived whether he was wearing a Hammers strip or a Fulham one.
@BigDon62@viewfinder777 i am a massive west ham united supporter, have been since the day i was born, and yes, Bobby is famous for his time at west time but we have to remember him for his skill and talent and not which club he belonged too. im not trying to have ago at anyone im just trying to admire him for what he was :)

at 0:39 it summed up what a true gentleman this guy actually was. never rising to the bait and being the bigger man. I never ever got to see this guy play, way before my time. but the stories by grandad and dad used to tell me off him were incredible. and my dad isn't even a football fan. goes to show how great mr moore was!
I swear he kinda blanked the queen after they shook hands, It looked like she was about to say something then he walked away like awwkwarrd. But Best Defender who ever lived, tragic his live got cut short
What a great tribute. I am not a West Ham fan but I think that Bobby Moore is an absolute legend. I think the incident near the beginning of the clip, when Frank Clark gets a bit aggresive needlessly sums him up.....he just takes the heat out of the whole situation. A super player who even in the Cup Final he played against West Ham, still looked awesome on the pitch!
And don't forget, that was 108 FULL 90 minute caps no on-as-a-sub caps, no cameo caps, so for me he's still our most capped player. Goes without saying never booked
@Sonnex83 Of all the days you could write that, you choose the day Millwall lose 6-1 at home to Watford(managed by a former Hammer, no less). I think that says it all about the intelligence of Millwall fans.
I know that the English (well, the British) were the first nation on earth to inflict a military defeat on the mighty Nazi Germany during World War II. I think they call it the Battle of Britain and it was years before America or Russia even entered the war.
However, it is time to put that behind us. we should not be angry at the English any more.

If I was to put together the greatest football team ever assembled and I could choose anyone from any era, the first name on my sheet.................Bobby Moore.
There are true "Greats" of the game and there are great players. The word is overused these days. Bobby Moore, along with Pele, Best, Maradonna (Even with his problems), Cruyff, and Beckanbaur are truly legends of the game from the 60s, 70s and 80s. Franz Beckenbaur. 5. Bobby moore. 6. Johann Cryuff. 7. zidane zinedane. 8.Bobby Charlton. 9. Eusabio. 10. Riverlino.
I used to watch West Ham when they were on TV about every week!
Bobby Moore only ever got booked once - he went into goal when Fergusson collided with the post, and he damn near saved a penalty! he got to the ball, but it went in on the rebound. and the time he knocked out the ref????
a gentlemen all the way through - and we'd have won the Wold Cup again in 70 if it handn't been for that damn bracelet!
I was lucky enough to c Bobby Moore play 4 both England & The Hammers back in the '60s since I was still living in London. Great captain, great sportsman, and WHAT a central defender. Used to love watching him bring the ball up & start the attack from deep 4 England (Not so much W. Ham since I was essentially a Spurs fan @ the time. ;D).
One of the true gentlemen of the game; hard working, successful, and yet humble. Arguably played his best game against Brasil (along with Gordon Banks) in 1970. Just look at his tackles: He was able to read the game and the opponents next move superbly. May he rest in peace, and may God bless his family.
Just watched this wonderful video.. what an incredibly special effort someone has made here, fabulous footage and so thoughtfully put together... fitting tribute for a legend
As far as I know, it's a fella called 'Bubbles' who did a CD with loads of other songs like this. It's quite popular in some pubs around the ground on match day.

Great video, where is this version of Oh Sweet England from?
Rest In Peace Bobby the best we ever had, shame the FA never looked out for him.

Absolutely brilliant - love this video!
Can you tell me, who is singing the first song?
1Macavenie 2 years ago 5
As far as I know, it's a fella called 'Bubbles' who did a CD with loads of other songs like this. It's quite popular in some pubs around the ground on match day.
