I fell in love with these guys when i first heard When the lights go out. Amazing song. i have listened to all their album and love them. Brothers came and i was AMAZED. Different sound (like not the same band) but equally as good and equally as soulful. I back these guys no matter what.

The Black Keys are not sell outs. I love all their albums and I think Brothers is one of their strongest lps. They have gone for a more produced sound but I think its a good change the old lo fi sound didnt always do them justice.

Selling out never meant being on commercials or not to me. or being on a medium that isn't 'worthy' of their music - this seems to be the argument here. Selling out is when bands stop making music based on what they think is good music, and start making it based on what will make more money.

That's exactly what happened to the rap industry starting as early as the 90's. Artists stopped making music just to make it - because they loved it - and started making music they thought fans would like or what would sell the most. That's what you should be looking out for, that's what you should be worried about, and i don't think the black keys has done that yet.
