I'm a college student so the $500 dollars that I could save I will buy a navigation system and put in some blue cool lights in the interior. This is great, I've made up my mind and I am getting a Ford Focus. Cheap and electronically impressive.

Pretty girl - not such a great car :-(

Her review of the new focus was less than enthusiastic. Her most profound statement? "The rear of the car is one of the most important parts, when people are behind you, that's the side they will see most." I have to say I agree with that, if nothing else :-)

The sync system does seem pretty good, however.

I just bought one and I can tell you it is an amazing car for the money. If you are spending between $15000-20000 Canadian$ there is not better out there. Compared to the Civic, Cobalt and Mazda 3 it is by far the best and as someone who used to hate Ford I can tell you im being honest.

I sell Ford Vehicles in America and the UK version is 1000% better. Ford America is so completely screwed up. Eventually they will globalize the brand (if they are smart) and bring the euro versions here to the US. Then maybe salespeople like myself would have something worth selling.

Whats really bad is that this is the MK1 (European) Ford Focus that ceased production in 2004 with a new body, so not only is it ugly but its also outdated technology!

No wonder why American cars have such a bad name, selling an old car as new "2008 Ford Focus", try "old 2004 Ford Focus"! LOL

Only thing I hate about it is the lack of rear headrests. Really, why is it so damn difficult to put in headrests for the passengers so their necks dont snap if the car gets rear ended.

The Sync is nice, but random people might see me as a crazy person talking to my car.

I think my 07 focus has an Option for that cuz I see a Phone button on my cd deck, I pushed it an nothing happened.... I think it was made for like bluetooth enabled phones.

I have an '07 Focus also and that button functions as the mute button for my radio (as well as the mute button that is on the radio itself). I don't know if its the same on your car or different... :)

Here is real life up here. 06 Sentra Speical Edt. 23 yr driving record, no claims 6 yrs plus. Price $200 a month !!! If I were 18 more like $300 ++. If it were the Spec V even more. I tried prices on the subcompacs and not much difference. Wave starts at $13500.

The age group you are in is considered the most likely to have an accident up here in the great white north. Insurance companies don't encourage young people to buy cars they discourage them instead which is bad for car sales. I mean up here an 18 to 24 yr old with no prier car ownership could pay up to $3000 a year depending on the car.

To give you a real life example, I own a fully equipped Pontiac Wave and it costs me 163 dollars per month to insure (and that's the lowest I got) while the car itself costs me 292.
