  • the i max 2000 is whats rong its not made the right way most of them thats came out r bad ones i have had 5 of theman i send them back an thay send me new ones an there all the same that a shame

  • What the hell is that above the meter?

  • @Cruiseomatic1989 it's a noise toy with machine gun, bomb dropping, ect.

  • Hard holding the camera steady huh?

  • @royalbrainwave only when I got my cock in the other hand

  • lol that little wind affects your SWR, thats not noticeable if you have an SWR of 1.15 or 1.1.2

even an SWR of 1:2 results in only 20% reflection loss, and thats less than a quarter Signal Unit.

  • 1.5 and below aint bad

  • Could be a loose connector, could be the wind knocking your ground connection around, even a nearby wet tree can do it.

I still say anything under 1.5 isn't too bad, of course, closer to 1:1 is best, but as long as you don't go past 1:2 you'll be OK. Still, it bears watching though, as it'll only get worse with no fixing. I have a similar radio to the Radio shack, except mine is a Magnum 257, along with a Titan Road Pro 485. Great little radios.

    Well, good luck!

  • I fixed it, it was the braid connection, resoldered the pl259 now it's good.

Only thing is the imax will only get 1.1 match on 28.300mhz.

tried adjusting the tuning rings and it helped it was 28.600, now it's 1.1 at 28.300, not good.

I will be getting a maco 5/8 or a wilson penatrator soon.

    Imax sucks

  • @1112223333111

i have had the imax, a99 and the maco.

maco is good but ironically the imax did outperform it and i did manage to tune it to 27.555 # 1:1 . i had at 40 feet high and handled the linear pretty well.

    in any case

73's from Aruba. Bass station whiskey.

  • @p43rw if your imax outperformed the maco then you didn't have the maco set right!

  • @freakzilla10

Sir i had the 3 el Maco at about the same height, beaming correctly, same radio, same cable, 1.1-1.2 SWR

  • @p43rw well i still would have to see it to believe it!

  • you are doing it not the wind

  • it was a loose ground on the coax connector.....

  • I have seen this before. Check our antenna AND connectors.

    Take Care,

    John

  • Or it could be a reflective wave from being to close to metal. Like the gutter roof flashing power line or so on.

  • I got it from my buddy. they are from the 70's I think.

Ebay has them once in awhile, hard to find.

  • Where did you buy that SWR / POWER Meter?

  • That sir is NOT the winds fault! I think you have a loose connector
