the problem arises when people aim to use this to show that one races is superior to another, which by all accounts is very wrong.
Yeah, I've read about a theory that the difference in the mean may be related to environmental factors like nutrition, since some societies have more access to nutrients that promote brain development than others .
For some reason that theory is almost as controversial as the theory about race/physical features, but it makes more sense to me.

Well, If you look at most of the successful intellectuals and academics in this country, Like Neil Degrasse Tyson, Michael Eric Dyson, Dick Parsons, Franklin Raynes, Alwyn Lewis, or Don Thompson, I still don't see your point.
Most of them don't have "relatively white features," they look pretty much like black people to me. But then again, I'm not really sure what you mean by "relatively white features" to begin with.

I suppose I was taking a physical anthropological standpoint based on my knowledge of the facial features and skull structure of the people of ancient Egypt (the people who live there now in no way resemble ancient Egyptians)... I was referring to the more compact orbitals, subdued jaw structure, lip size and nose length... which when combined into genetic tendencies dictate intelligence, based on my observations, interpretations, and biases. Maybe not though.

Yeah, that theory about race and intelligence doesn't really hold up when you actually look at pictures of the smartest black people in America. I'm actually surprised to hear that there are still people who subscribe to the idea.
I'm a direct descendant of west African slaves, and I have a 4.0 GPA. My observations, experiences, and biases lead me to believe that every human has the same capacity for intelligence, considering we're all genetically identical to within a fraction of a percent.

actually.........no. while people of all races can be very intelligent, and not so much, the distribution and mean is actually not the same. even when controlled for socio economic and cultural differences, average intelligence is not quite the same. its not a huge difference, but one does exist.
the problem arises when people aim to use this to show that one races is superior to another, which by all accounts is very wrong.

Yeah, I've read about a theory that the difference in the mean may be related to environmental factors like nutrition, since some societies have more access to nutrients that promote brain development than others .
For some reason that theory is almost as controversial as the theory about race/physical features, but it makes more sense to me.
