I was about 10 years old when I bought my first 8 track, well needless to say it was Freddie Hart's greatest hits. The music sounds even better now. We haven't had a recent song as good as this one since Paint me a Birmingham
have you noticed that every pretty song with a xylophone in the back ground sounds even better. that big man had his own dojo in the past, a real badass, but a good gentle heart, thus freddy "hart."
Ya gotta love it, this music was great the singers were out of this world, it could be enjoyed by everyone, and surely if we were honest we would admit it is missed very much. The new "stuff" is just that stuff and that of course is my opinion, which I think Iam still entitled to.
I love this song! Especially since my father and his army buddy wrote it. My father presented it to Mr. Hart but as the story goes... he had no interest in it at the time. Much to my father's surprise he heard it on the radio a time later. Mr. Hart took it as his own written music but it was not. Too much time has passed now and Mr. Hart never gave credit where it was due but its alright. The people that matter...know the truth.
Even if you've never really been in true blue love, this song can at least make you think of a girl or woman who you've admired forever when you listen to it and it's as if you're singing it right to her.A powerful and romantic ballad!
@landrykkb I totally agree with you. He was the only country entertainer who had a hit so big, it won "song of the year" two years in a row (1971 & 72) ... song was "Easy Loving". Even Johnny Cash can't boast that accomplishment.
I was in a lounge in Chattanooga, TN when I first heard this song. I couldn't stop playing it that night, and I've been in love with it ever since. Freddie Hart is one of the best country singers of all time.
i live freddys voice i love oldies country i lived in the country and i can relate to this theres no other music like the oldies not even close keep putting oldies country on here ill keep coming back for more thank you sooooooo much 4 the oldies country girl always lana
to bad they could'nt put togeather on tv music videos dedicatied, to all the old country music of yesteryear, nice promo title ha, and maybe if the did some of the so called country singers of today could learn somethin, Don
@happyholler Me too!I bought a CD by him a number of years back titled The Top 10 hits of Freddie Hart and although it was a great introduction at the time to him, there's so so many other great songs out there he wrote and recorded.
Freddie sure does know how to put over a love song. Anyone who's ever had a true love can identify with this song I feel. I love all his songs, whether they be ballads or novelty or gospel. Freddy has had a wonderful career and I could never imagine true country without him to entertain us all these years. A great talent for sure. Thanks a million for this. - Paula
@livingadream2 I'm not from this era by any means, but I love my pure country music. That's not to say I don't love some of today's artists or even other genres,it's just that old school country's my first love.
Thank you so very, very much for sharing these beautiful songs by one of country's most talented and greatest voices of all time. We love Freddy Hart. Thank you again, and God Bless Freddy Hart.

Freddie Hart was and still is underrated.Johnny Cash was great, but is overrated compared to Freddie Hart,in my brutally honest opinion.
