  • I havent cried this mutch from a movie before.

  • sadly they miss-portrayed the father as having a blued Smith and Wesson model 10 instead of the "small, nickel plated revolver"...........that's all i got from the movie, my friends say i totally missed the plot, but i have to say, the book was better

  • beautiful

  • Awesome movie awesome music...

  • Ah, this song has hope in it. Good for hopeless moments...

  • A wonderful piece of music which reminds me of final moments...moments I intend to carry always...

  • Every time I hear this song, for that small period of time I feel a bit of peace in my life

  • wtf talking about twilight ?

  • I've been looking for this symphonic song for the longest! I heard it at the end of the movie and it was soo calming! Thnks for uploading!

  • The road is an Amazing movie, i was crying by this part in the movie!

  • Oh my god who was the 1 dislike. This is just absolutely an amazing track from a great movie. I have yet to see anyone not cry at this scene. My wife was in bits.

  • @mattyjolly a twilight fan, i guess..

  • This movie has really made an impact on me.... Even though it's so dark, at the end there's a glimmer of hope. And this song is the only way to be able to describe this movie. No words. Just this song :)

  • The bit at the end when the lad loses his dad was a hard one for me to watch as I was with my dad when he died. It was one of the best acted pieces I have ever seen. The Road is an amazing film on so many levels, a huge well done to all those involved.

  • the best i ve every seen!

  • there are no words to describe the road. there is only this.

  • The Road is art. The art of hope in a dark world.

  • This movie reminds me of something, that love is the most beautiful thing in this world.

  • do YOU carry the fire?

  • I've listened to almost all the tracks in order so far, and I am so happy with all of the comments that people are leaving. I'm glad to see other people that really respect this movie and enjoyed it as much as I have.

  • @AnUnholyBirth ya its a great movie. auuuuuuug

  • Very nice film, original for a post-apocalyptic.

  • esta pelicula toca tu alma.. me doy cuenta que nunca eh peleado en realidad por seguir.... es una inspiracion esta pelicula..

  • this song is so beautiful! Brought tears to eyes!

  • Kodi smith and Mortenssen, very good actors! A perfect, sad father-son-harmony, great movie!!

  • i hope that family at the end weren't cannabals

  • @wushock1991 my thoughts at the end of the movie,"THEY GON EAT CHUUU!"

  • @cholula88 Wrong

  • @supremebacon REALLY?! i had no idea!

  • @wushock1991 They aren't. If they ever resulted to cannibalism then they would have basically resorted to eating the dog first.

  • I'm carrying the fire. <3

  • Its a beautifull but strange world we all live in guys ..

  • When the time comes, they are gone. Memories fade in time. I still remember my mother sitting by the front window of our old home. She was smiling and looking out into the quiet street. She was planning a nice meal for the evening. It was warm inside the house. It was great to feel that warmth against so much cold outside. The evening light dims and the dream is over. I miss you mom.

  • @superpridefighter do you wanna kill me?! OMG...brought tears to my eyes... we need to find strength!

  • this may sound wierd, but i cried when he died. this was the greatest movie ever. the blind side cant compare to how sad this move this was. the movie was geinius

  • @dylanolson107 I cried too. And (not trying to sound like some macho bastard but) I don't cry easily!

  • @dylanolson107 the book was genius. I love the film, you should check out the book too, though

  • Yes, they had the right idea, head south. For centuries after WW III, there is still bound to be debris and fallout left in the sky. The best bet would be to head south, like into La Florida. However, the five safest places in the world would be in Africa, most notably, Madagascar. So if you reach the keys and you have a good navigator, map, large ship and enough fuel and supplies, go for it. Madagascar. But be careful

  • this song is so touching i cried so much when the dad died truly deserves a 5 star

  • He tried to talk to God but the best thing was to talk to his father and he did talk to him and he didn't forget....the breath of God was his breath yet though it pass from man to man through all of time.

  • I am astonished at the amount of ppl who ask why the film makers didn't presented us the way in witch the world ended!

That is not the purpose of this book/movie, the pure human relations, brought down to beastly state is what this movie is all about.

Those who want to see end of the world movies, you have armaggedon....

  • @rikkof DAMN RIGHT. The reason of the world ending was not important

  • @rikkof amen protect the flame ,and if u want the end of the world watch 2012

  • @Robbybob1 Protect the flame brothers

  • Oh my gosh. THIS is music.

  • i cried like a baby when i saw this movie

  • @wushock1991 yes i soo cry :)

  • This movie was good but it was so depressing that I felt reliefed everytime someone died in the movie! It's like Robert Duwall's character said" I do not wish do die since I cannot afford luxuries these days!" In that kind of world (painless) death was the best thing to happen.

  • Even though i have read the book and seen the movie countless times, I still always almost cry when i see the ending of the movie...like i haven't seen it before...

  • the movie and book were amazing!

I love this song, it has a sad yet hopeful tone.

  • Can anything be more beautiful?

All thoose thoughts you get in the head,

Past, pressent, future. _ What can happend.

    Where will we end.

    Nothing less than absolutly Amazing.

  • i want this played at my funeral

  • @CrushinRuSSian27 Fucking EMO.

  • @edwinkerstner why do you call me emo dude?

  • @edwinkerstner whatever dude.

  • @edwinkerstner how does that make him an emo..

  • demonstrike1995 ur not alone i balled my eyes out at the end.

  • I had teers in my eyes when I saw this film. It is the first film when I cryed. Films like the road should be much more.

  • whoilke this oundac i a big pacient ( pejšnt )

  • I like how there are no dislikes. Great Movie.

  • this was the best movie i have ever seen. no questions asked. fuck the whiney babies saying its too depressing and all that. this movie is to show all you idiots what a father would do for his kid. i would carry the fire until i die for my daughter. enough said peace

  • If you get a great book, a great director, great actors and great musicians you get a great film, it's not rocket science.

@magicman205 Avatar was a crock of shit, copied from 'dances with wolves'.

  • perfectly conjures up the emotions the book left me with when i read it a while back...spot on, Nick Cave, spot on

  • this is the saddiest song , i have ever heard

  • this is very reamovie , if this wars dont ended ....

  • i would carry the fire for my daughter if we were in this situation

  • If I could only learn to play this on piano..

  • really nice film, loved it. but! how the hell would the family manage to keep a dog alive, while there not even enough food for people. I think, that was highly implausible.

  • @Plintus83 That's part of the "there's still hope" element. It's supposed to be compared with the scene where the beetle flies off into the sky...

  • This song is wonderful ...

  • One of the all time best movies I will ever see.

  • japan 2011:(

  • This piece is astonishing.....not seen the film but the score is beautiful.

  • carry the fire inside you.....

  • I carry the fire....

  • Quality movie I must admit

  • I cried at this part! What a beautiful movie it was.

  • The final scene at the beach shows a glimmer of hope which I think in the end makes the film uplifting. I thought The Road was a great film and once again Warren Ellis and Nick Cave delivered a beautiful, haunting score following on from Jesse James.

  • i always have to stop listening to this song... its just so sad. i remember watching the movie... it made me cry

  • its sad tht movies such as twilight, tht are written with no heart at all, are box office hits...

The Road is much much MUCH more deserving of a nomination than twilight..

  • @TH3XFIL3S Twilight is cheap trash made to be consumed by teenagers with underdeveloped tastes. The Road, however, is art. It has emotion and love and everyone who was involved put their heart and soul into the production. Twilight will fade into irrelevance once it's fanbase learns what quality is. The Road will become a classic.

  • @moneymandate both the book and movie will be remembered for years too come as for twilight i,m not gonna say it sux i know it u know most people know its fact not fiction

  • @moneymandate I couldent agree more, Im only 17 but i still saw the beauty in this film, im going to be honest, it made me cry. And im not ashamed. Truly Inspiring film

  • @ZonkzUK me too mate

and you made an awesome tune because of this film

  • @moneymandate this is a real movie. twilight is total crap made for idiot teens

  • So beautiful! I can't stop to listen it.. This scene was so great.. after all bad moments the boy has already found a savety!

  • one word needed to describe all this. beautiful.

  • Viggo plays a role that i compare with God.. A Guardian Angel.. His son is the voice of justice and equality.. The tears that i cry in this movie is not sadness.. but joy of all the love in this movie..

    Masterpiece.

  • nice music but why are people taking things to far crying shit

  • Very powerful and moving book by Cormac McCarthy. The movie is just as good, due to the very talented cast (Viggo Mortensen and Kodi Smit-McPhee were amazing). Makes you think about just how fragile life can be, and wonder about the moral strength of the world leaders who could make our lives a living nightmare.

  • Beautiful movie and music, I had to pause for a moment during the beach scenes though because I would've ruined my laptop if I didn't.

  • This video should have millions of views, the music says it all! Not to mention the book and movie were awesome, really gets you thinking about what could happen. Never know whats around the corner! Whats best is you never find out what happened to the world or what the characters names are, apart from Ely. Just plain epic!

  • One of the best movie endings too. It's full of hope but not kitschy at all. It's sad but the music says that there is still hope for this little boy. Simply everything about this movie is extremely realistic and poetic at the same time. A true masterpiece. It's a shame that The Road didn't get at least one Oscar. Viggo Mortensens acting is brillant. To hell with the Academy!

  • thr road was the first movie to ever make cry when the biys father dies and this music mixed together tears just start to roll down my face

  • the movie already had me at an emotional breaking point... and then this song came in at the end and i just started tearing for no reason at all.

  • Vijjo Morgenstein!!

  • excellent movie :)

  • The review that I read that is the closest to what I feel this movie is about said that the movie and book make us reflect on the process through which society comes into existence. Society is not so much hard coded into our brains as rather passed on from each parent to each child in a very real way, every day. The absent mother is also important. As a father I can say that this love comes to us men differently than mothers....

  • ...It's as though our love is a promise and a commitment to our children we renew everyday, even while struggling with wanting to remain children ourselves. This love, and the risk of pain in loving unconditionally is our choice to grasp (we all know some that were simply not up to it). At the end, the reappearance of a mother figure delivers with heartbreaking sweetness the utter importance of maternity pivotal throughout the story for it's very absence.

  • truly a touching piece of music

  • my dad passed away .. and when i watched this movie all i could think about was him .. about that i know he would do the same for me when that would happen here .. he would push himself farther than anything to keep me safe, god :)

I cried so fucking hard .

  • Viggo Mortensen could assure his amazing talent... Can't imagine how he could act like this. The son is also an incredible kid. Thank you for posting this beautiful soundtrack. Just watched the movie and impressed me so much... yes, we should concern about many things. God Bless Humankind.

  • i dont think so wht this movie has projected wld ever com true , coz i think men wld kill itself b4 nature try to as we can see every one making weapons fightin wid each oder , one day a world war will start and evey one will be killed. WOLD WOULD BE SAFER WIDOUT THESE MUSLIMS, MUSLIMS ARE THE ONLY CURSE TO THE WORLD, I SEE HITLEN IN EVERY MUSLIM KILL THEM ALL AND LIVE A PEACEFULL LIFE FREE FROM ALL DANGER , KILL MUSLIMS OR THEY WILL KILL US , MIT BE MANY PEOPLE LAUGH ON THIS THING BUT ITS TRUE

  • @deadman42002 Muslims are not the problem any more than Christians or Hindus - Haters are the problem.

  • I never cry at films, this one is the only exception, i have never been moved by a film as much as this one. Such a brilliant film.

  • The book is one of the most beautiful I've ever read.

  • I just watchet the movie and i LOVE it!!!!!!!

The music fits perfectly the the sad and almost hopeless mood of the movie.

I hardly cry at movies and i even haven´t cried (ATTENTION!!!! SPOILER ALERT!!!!!) when Viggo Mortensen died at the beach.....but i had tears in my eyes when the boy went with his "new" family and this music played at the same time.

The original book by Cormac McCarthy, on wich the movie is based on, must be fantanstic as well....

  • @dshkoq i think the new Family are angels, ´course they say: they lookt after both a whole time

  • OMG!!! i tough nothing made me cry until i watched this movie!!!!

    it touches my heart!!!

    this deserved an oscar!!!!!

  • whole soundtrack is like heaven!

  • LOVED DIS MOVIE....made me gr8ful 4 evrything i alwayz take for granted....thanks 4 da upload!!!!

  • @Ozscii @Ozscii

I think you are more correct with the existentialism represented in this film. The idea is that the idea of god has changed. It is no longer something beyond the world but expressed in the love between father and son. Notice they pray to the PEOPLE rather than to god for finding the food. It is hope in the face of oblivion. And that hope is the BOY, not god.

  • Anyone know where to get the sheet music?

  • Anyone who gave this movie a thumbs down because it made them feel something genuine be it sadness or love does not know true great filmmaking. to have a movie this subtle and yet as powerful as it is with every minute that goes by, deserves the highest respect.

  • This film made me cry so much, and this song is just beautiful, i am just a sixteen year old but now i know a father would do anything for his little boy.

  • Comment removed

  • @juanlokun "He IS an angel. To me he is a god." It's the strangest thing. When you become a parent it's as though a new emotion sweeps over you - one that you've never experienced. There my be some childless skeptics reading this, but I think most parents would agree that it's very different from anything else that we call "love". I think this movie might be experienced differently by parents.

  • @oakmcgowan: I'm not parent. I even don't know what even love is. I'm too young for this. But I definitely felt that thing-'love'- from this movie. :)

  • "...if I were God, I would have made the world just so and no different, and so I have you...", My daughter was born two months ago,as I get lost in her dark eyes, I understand that line now, with all my heart, we are bound now, forever she and I.

  • An important film -- and now I've finally seen it, I'm glad I watched it.

  • I don't usually watch the credits on the films but because of this song i did, great ending to a great movie can't see how people didn't get the film.

  • With a heavy heart, I finished this movie.

  • Thanks for uploaded.. I saw this movie yesterday, really touching movie,.. and love this song at the end.

  • So wait, Avatar, The Blind Side, and Up were all nominated for Best Picture and this wasn't?!?!?!?!?

  • @magicman205 fuck those movies seriously this has more a a real meaning and shows people what can actually happen in front of their face and make them tougher and more willing in life

  • Comment removed

  • This will definitely be the song played at my funeral, not that I plan on dying any time soon..

  • This soundtrack makes me think of all the good times I've had recently,it's so moving.

  • my favorite film...the best music ever.

  • the song and the movie make me cry

  • So sad...it was an masterpiece...Thanks this video...

  • "We are the sons of our fathers..." This film torn apart my heart, cause my father died of cancer, when I was eight. His friends keep telling me,that he was a "truly good man".22 years have passed and I still feel this emptiness in my heart...for me this movie is about the son and the father.Their love, their rules and their friendship...neverending story for my heart...

  • this end song made the movie seem more sad.

  • la cancion mas bonita que he escuchado en mi vida...

  • what is the track called you can hear on the official website?

  • Comment removed

  • I love this song and this entire soundtrack. The movie is so powerful. Viggo's best performance yet. This movie is so important. It shows us how hideous and distorted we can become. The way those ppl were acting was not survival of the fittest it was selfishness and ugliness. This book and the film captured it all beautifully. This is the film that will make the manliest man cry and if not touch deeply. Whoever sees this film will not forget it...

  • "Some day all the trees in the world will fall. But not on us."

  • It's strange how much beauty you can find in a book/film about an ash-filled, desolate, barren wasteland with cannibals roaming across the land.

  • @Needham90 no it isnt strange because the reason is love something so beautiful

  • @ShiningStarsBless12

That was my point, somehow they captured that beauty in such a bleak setting which made it stand out that much more :)

  • for some reason, this song reminds me of Keanu Reeves

  • "I know. I'm sorry. You have my whole heart. You always did." This broke my heart but it gives you hope. I don't think I'll ever find another novel, film or music comparable, its beauty is blinding...

  • Best films of 2009 (in no order): The Hurt Locker, Moon, The Road, Inglourious Basterds, District 9.

Avatar isn't quite in the same league as the said above.

  • Too Beautiful for words to describe!

The composers for this film deserve an Oscar for just this piece of music right here!

  • I don't understand how the film could be described as slow moving, it was under 2 hours and had me gripped from moment to moment. The sheer struggle to survive and the idea of constant danger really kept me enthralled.

  • @Chriskey83

That is because it relies on brilliant acting rather than special effects junk. I agree with you, the film is so great because of the catharsis that envelops between the audience and the characters. Something many films today lack.

  • this movie....made me love the boy and the papa as much as i love myself and my family....this movie is proof that mankind is style human, i love this movie soo much

thank you soo much for posting this

  • Uuuughu... I cant stop crying of this movie, every time I watch it, the same happend, this movie, soundtrack, everything is so sad and touching~

    ; ~;

  • Yea, this video was one of the only ones that have made me think of how much the world is already wasted and how precious some things could be to us in an environment like the one in "The Road". My Uncle has just died on memorial day and my friend is about to go through surgery so this story helped calm me and make me think of the good guys and the fire. Greatest book ive ever read and greatest movie ive seen. Thanks for this video

  • Funny how films like this are put down because they're 'slow moving' or 'depressing.' I seriously read a critic review saying the film was too sad. He then gave it two thumbs down for that.

    *facepalm*

  • @Cruelhazard

its ridiculous that people can say that. some people are so close-minded or unappreciative that they will only listen to 'upbeat' songs and if they dont like a film or book or piece of music they say its 'depressing'. how wrong they are.

  • Beautiful movie

  • The end was so sad, i nearly cried. Its a crime this movie didn't get nominated for best picture and or best actor. Great soundtrack as well, i will most definitely get it!

  • @redsledgehammer4085 ALMOST CRIED???? I'm the kind of person who would never admit to crying, I bawled like a baby at the end of both the book and movie. This is the greatest love story of all time.
