  • Good work :)

    Congratulations...

  • Nice screen. What is the app at 0:39 ? Or is it a nested desktop (with what in it :) ?

  • @jsjohnify - The app running at 0:39 is VMPlayer, running my virtual machine for the QNX 6.3.2 real time OS.

  • Hi, when i put the hacker recipe, the diamond just disapered... any idea please?

  • The hacker recipe doesn't have a diamond, you have to use the keyboard shortcuts to access the menus or switch between desktops

    try:

    alt + Super_L - Menu with aplications (Super_L - left windows button)

alt + Menu - Diamond Menu

ALT+F1 ALT+F10 switching between virtual desktops

  • Thank you so much! I had erase and installed again completely and now the diamond is there. Some shortcuts found in intenet don't work in my pc... Cya and thanks.

  • Waow, Dave Brubeck, isn't it ?

It's so unusual to see a youtube vid with good music on it !!!!!

    A "computing" vid additionally.

    I'm quite surprised.

I feel like I'm hearing and seeing something impossible.

Jazz music and *nix window manager exploration...

    Good.

  • Thx...

    yeah, Dave Brubeck Quartet!

  • FVWM = Best window manager ever (at least until I discover a better one)

  • @somebodydc691n maybe 'awesome' will change your mind

  • Very Slick Desktop!!! I have been curious about switching from mint to debian but never gave it a whirl. I know that mint is a fork of ubuntu which is an offshoot of debian but are they different enough that a couple hours of tweaking wont have me running essentially the same os? And, are the ubuntu forums relevant to issues I might want to resolve if I do switch to debian (kinda importatant cause I am still learning). Thanks in advance.

  • You can use the ubuntu forums for debian questions without any problems...

I never tested mint but i think switching to debian isin't going to be that hard....probably is going to take more time to configure!!!

  • The ubuntu forums are indeed a finde source since all the *buntus are widespread and you will find lots of threads to pretty much every problem. If you would like sticking to comfy graphical configuration and to stay with Debian-ish distros, you might take a look at other offsprings as well. Like Kanotix or sidux. Sidux is oficially not recommended for beginners though. But I am quite a beginner myself and never had real problems with sidux.
