  • Barry, Thanks for your comment and glad you enjoyed the video. Regards, John

  • Terrific film. Perfect place to film as Miles Platting seems to be a tremendous challenge for a steam engine so you got some wonderful exhaust effect. Really enjoyed. Barry

  • Lovely volcanic effect from Lizzie. Loco of the year? Got to be.

  • @siobhan104 It was a fine sight and it is a terrific loco but for me the star of the year was the Earl (5043). Regards, John

  • Great video! I filmed that train at Manchester Victoria station itself. Me and my friend got a shock when it made a loud hissing sound before departure, we did like it though!

  • Cracking shot John. What a great sound from Lizzie as she departs Victoria.

  • Nice one John, and a wonderful end to this years filming...Compliments of the season to you and your family....Bob

  • @robmasterman Bob, There's a few opportunities yet before I hang the camera up for the year. Thanks for your support with some wonderful comments throughout the year and best wishes of the season to you and Mrs. M. Regards, John

  • Excellent coverage of Lizzies climb out of Victoria the sound will take some beating. Sorry the weather didn't play ball John for your visit back up North but Lizzies performance certainly made up for it.

    Regards Phil.

  • @981smithy Phil, Some call it the damp north but I expected better conditions for my return. Lizzie was superb and the crew tackled the difficult conditions with apparent ease. Thanks for your comment. Regards, John

  • Great shot John , worth the miles just for the superb sound as Lizzie blasts towards you . Regards Steve

  • @TheStephengthompson Steve, Certainly was a fine sight and worth the 230 mile round trip. Sound wasn't bad either. Thanks for your comment. Regards, John

  • These things happen John but nice shot anyway, at leat you did not have to worry about the sun in the lens, just a bit of water............

  • @ralph5407 Yes got there at about 10.40 as assumed it would be a popular spot so by the time it arrived I was soaked. Patience and enduring all weathers is all part of the game. Thanks for your comment. Regards, John

  • Nice vid John i'm the one who turned up late and stood next to you..glad i did not get in your way..thanks Steve..

  • @stestepney You certainly cut it fine. Thanks for your comment. Regards, John

  • Nice shot John and worth your journey despite that awful weather. You were in the right spot as the usual line for Rochdale bound trains is the one to the right so don't know the reason for her taking the line she did.

  • @acw71000 Austin, I was actually on the right hand side of the bridge when someone informed me it was booked for the inside line. Not to worry as the sound was incredible but the bridge parapet affected the focus. Likewise, it would have been nice to say hello. I assume by the angle of your video you had your tripod on the ledge of the bridge. Thanks for commenting. Regards, John

  • 2nd view and definite TU, John! Great climb, blasting up the bank, and love the way those leaves are thrown into the sky …..☁☁☁☁☁⁘⁙⁚⁛…..Hᴜɢʜ….TU…..ツ
