You can use ALL of the Guitar Hero World Tour instruments on Rock Band. I'm not sure if all of the RB2 instruments are compatible with World Tour though.
harmonix only could make the wii version of RB2 compatible with GH instruments because it is just an expansion of the wiimote, the RB instruments are connected by usb, and GHWT can only recognize a mic through usb
I think the real reason is that Harmonix also implemented the classic controller input so the GH instruments would work, as Rock Band 2 doesn't use a Wiimote. However, GHWT didn't put in the controls that Rock Band controllers use, though.
but according to glovepie, the genericaster and GHWT drums aren't classic controllers, and idk y activision didn't let us use RBWii instruments, but RB instruments in general are pretty poor, red octane make good peripherals
WTF is the "genericaster?" And as far as I know it, the GHWT guitar and drums connect to the bottom of the Wii Remote, and so they FUNCTION like Classic Controllers because they use button inputs from that controller. Proof? You can use the analog stick to navigate the Wii menu without the need of a sensor bar, which the Classic Controller does as well.
the genericaster is the GHWT guitar, and they do connect to the wiimote, they aren't classic controllers though, they just use the analog stick navigation from it
Which site says that? Well, December 18th is when Harmonix is SHIPPING the game (the GameStop near me will have it on the 19th), so it depends on how close the store near you is to a warehouse that is shipping the game.
