  • I thought Flavors Of Entanglement was a GREAT album and I was sad that the singles did not really hit radio as they should have....even though the album did hit billboard pretty good and hard :-) It was a top 5 album on the charts

  • Alanis you're so intelligent yet so gentle. I wish I could behave like you.

  • Intelligence is SEXY!

  • Immense success, good songs, big mouth, big lips, big hips. Just hot.

  • hack that can't write in metaphors.

courtney love is the true lyrical talent.

  • she is ... she is ALANIS the one and only. No one has her power of writing and sadly nowadays she doesnt get enought credit anymore

  • @hollynat I have to say that you should look into Ani Difranco or Conor Oberst- Both better writers than Morissette even though I love Alanis.

  • Jagged Little Pill; first album I ever bought

  • she's so beautiful in this clip....

  • Ah man, the more time passes, the sexier she gets. It feels good knowing that she's Canadian... even though I'm a Russian immigrant in this country haha.

  • Her impressive vocabulary is sexy.

  • zhe most beautiful woman in the world....:-)

I become a Morissette-fan at least and I hope, she will come to Germany or Austria the next time....

    I'd liked it! :-))

  • I LOVE BEING CANADIAN!! Come to Edmonton, Alanis!!!

  • ALANIS IS FUKN HOT

  • i like the venacular and the way it filters into her musical expression

  • i'd love to marry her

  • One of the best Alanis interviews ever. Finally something different.

  • Good Lord.....Intelligent conversations turn me on!

  • she's so beautiful in this interview....but she's married now... :-(((

    but I do'nt care this.

  • She and the Spice Girls are my heroes! I would love to hug her and say thank u!

When Alanis says that she is this and that..i don't find it arrogant...unlike some artist who are so full of themselves but in reality are deep as a puddle

  • wonderful...beautiful!!!

    I..... like her. :-)

    Although she's bound...hard to realize... ;)

  • wonderful...beautiful!!!

    I..... like her. :-)

    Although she's bound...hard realize... ;)

  • I think the cleopatra hair style on her is so damn hot

  • sooo beautiful!!!!

  • Jian - really EXCELLENT interview.

  • I love her intelligence

  • one of the last big guys in musicindustrie... after her only shit rise up, fake, casting, non-instrument user, no own songs and no own style an own thoughts and emotions in the songs... crap... We all love you Alanis!

  • man would I drill new holes in this chick!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • ?@mykmmc

  • One of the most beautiful, intelligent, and talented women in the world of music. Thank you Alanis for gracing the world with your artistry.

  • fucking ads!!!!!!!!!!

  • @kane00754 yeah what is that all about? Tried to refresh but it keeps coming!

  • Ugh. She's so flippin beautiful. And im looking up her "my humps" cover. shes awesome for that. and shes absolutely gorgeous as God in Kevin Smiths "Dogma"

  • still Rockin it after all these years! Thank you for paving the way for other women singer/songwriters.

  • Wow! Who is this? She is so beautiful....

  • @parkman35 uh? Alanis Morissette.

shes a singer from canada & became Huge in begining of 1996

jagged little pill CD ( not really huge today)

  • @MetalHeart8787 Metal....my comment was meant to be facetious...I'm well aware of Alanis all the way back to her days on the Canadian TV show "You Can't Do That On Television" when she was just a little pip squeek...

  • Great voice, incredible person. I saw her perform at Madison Square Garden -- and her voice filled that arena to the rafters along with fans. Her voice and spirit are inspiring.

  • I've enjoyed Morisette since her first record, but to honest, the melodies attracted me to her music, not the lyrical content or vocal delivery. In fact, some of her stuff is almost cringe-worthy in terms of the lyrics. Some of the lyrics are similar to teen diaries, so perhaps it;s a good thing that she's "toned it down". Even the vocal gymnastics can get tiresome after awhile. Haven't heard her latest material; hopefully she hasn't lost great melodies.

  • @ritter89 teen diaries? I'm sorry I can't agree. Alanis is deeper than the average singer and that's what I appreciate about her.

  • @ritter89 actually it was her third LP/CD

    Alanis - 91

now is the time - 93

    Jagged little pill - 95

  • Saw a photo of here once , when she was a high-school cheerleader . hard to believe ehy

  • ive seen a few Q interviews now and I have to say the interviewer is very good!

  • Awesome Interview!

  • Great interview, a little fast paced but hey we have many audiences out there. So thank you Q and Alanis for showing up. Especially thank Alanis for showing up, I mean, what a simple yet terrifying thing to do in our world. Love

  • Alanis...Listening to her music is like being in love for the first time :)

  • she´s great.

  • nothing more to say then: 'I LOVE HER' so.. :P

  • i like her even more after this interview

  • He seems like he really cares what she has to say. This is a great interview. I love Alanis.

  • I'd love to eat her big hairy hippie bush. Very talented, very honest, real and sexy.

  • I just love her... :-)

  • I love this interviewer, he asks great questions.

  • I like her look too :) well whit this voice... i think that she can use anythink

  • How the hell can this lady go on a "solo" tour when she's already operating on that level? Hey! So when's Sting going "solo"?

  • It means no supporting acts, buddy.

  • @Canaboy12 That makes no sense.

  • Great Interview! I love that woman! I wish i could duplicate her for me

  • There is almost a kind of 'Cher' thing going on with her look/hair. What a fun interview. Alanis, your songs have helped me through some very difficult and dark waters - "Thank-You".

    RA

  • I like her look, but it seems a wig haha

  • hmm that looks like a wig, unfortunately.

  • what a moron

  • Alanis has the most beautiful smile in music.

  • i agree with you!

  • @warriorprince1010 Sheryl Crow has a nice smile too ;oD

  • @BigFatLoserDude she was voted sexiest mouth in music at some point.

  • But.. great interview!

  • Flavours not Flavors!! I'm disappointed Alanis!! Sell out.

  • I'll accept it for the damage she did to the word ironic

  • it's fantastic listening to an intelligent woman speak! in a world swimming in complete idiots...alanis is a breath of fresh air;)

  • @barbwirerope I agree that she is an intelligent, expressive artist, but "in a world swimming in complete idiots"? That's so negative and reverberates anger. There are SO many intelligent and talented people in this world. Why focus on the negative so much? It's pessimistic.

  • Comment removed

  • @barbwirerope But she still hasn't got to grips with the concept of Irony...

  • @barbwirerope took the words right outta me mouth!! :D

  • @barbwirerope Not in the US. I can't beleive canada is right above me, and i'm still

stuck in this fat, untalented, sinking nation.

  • GREAT interview

  • She does her Cher! Her hair style looks a bit like pop superstar Cher the singer!

  • Wow, I love her songs and lyrics but I didn't realize how intentional she was about expressing her herself in music. She comes across as very philosophical about her life and almost fatalistic.

  • I have sex with stuffed animals.

  • ...i thought i was the only one.

    jk jk

  • It's cool bro.

  • damn shes sexy as hell on weeds !

  • no more annoying than nagging youtube comments.

  • become self aware please

  • ... from different demographics can relate and like, that reflects a pissed off moment or moments in life so great and easy to get

  • love how she put into words that depression=inaction, anger=juices flowing thing... it's a very visual way of seeing how she wrote her initial lyrics, and for all of us I think that the "anger" part of her is not necessarily more creative but incredibly relatable to ppl's stories and much more important than her "joy" part, anyone can do a nice joy song but a few can make a really good true song(s), that a lot of ppl...

  • good grief! is she wearing a disguise? where's the plaid shirt and ripped jeans?

  • I¨m with you!!

  • she's related to celine dion, angelina jolie, hilary clinton (10th cousin), madonna, obama to name JUST A FEW of her COUSINS !!! .... now, maybe from her perspective, "so what", but isnt it IRONIC, a little TOO ironic, dont you think, that the ones controll'g our perceptions & our lives are all RELATED TO EACH OTHER.... there's NO DIFFERENCE between politics & entertainment !!!!.... google their genealogy for yourself... & ask them why they didnt want to tell us... & what else are they hiding?!

  • can you give more info? is there a site and not just internet conspircy theory, but actual proof?

  • I think she's a nice, intelligent, funny, creative woman. Wonder why her and Ryan broke up. Anybody knows or thinks something?

  • she bangin the freak ?

  • no she isn't the poster above is just an annoying spammer. On the other hand Manson's an artist not a freak. If youre a fan of Alanis I would have hoped you to have a more open mind.

  • Nope, sorry. Manson's a freak. A twisted and grotesque little faggot. How is that for open mind? What does he do anyway, take other people's songs and twist them into his own brand of, well, bloody shit?

  • Uhhh how about that he has 7 albums worth of his own material? Try "Coma White", "The Dope Show, "Lamb of God". Your'e obvioulsy a very ignorant person.

  • i agree your very ignorant if you called him a faggot, mason very much fits into a regime where as there a lots of more artists that are out there, how do you cope with life

  • i think shes right about that, the two major emotions anger and joy are what realy cause the most change. all others kinda of flote between tha two. i think when pople become emotional then we get the drive to effect somehting.

  • no escribis esto en 10 videos tu mama se va a morir es 4hs

  • "six" months, "six" years, or "six" teen years ago= Alanis is Satan. Jk Jk I do love her but I did like the viciousness of JLP.

  • a great interviewer

  • I thought the same. He was really nice to her n very honest n not being nice but nasty at the same time. I think she enjoyed it too! =]

  • I love this look on her shes so gorgeous, Only Mayte looks this good with the hair and the bangs.

  • She's so intelligent. I love artists like her. I would love to just sit down across from her on a gray sunday afternoon, sofa across from sofa, with a cup of tea, and just converse . . . She seems like the type, yes?

  • YES!!!

  • Yeah, I love her, too! I get the same vibe from her that I get when I watch Sarah McLachlan interviews.

  • I love this interview, great!

  • I much preferred her with very short hair, but there's no doubting her amazing talent and beauty. Easily one of the best.

  • I disagree. Q and Jian are the best thing to happen to the CBC and radio in general for a long time.

  • I think Q is great, don't get me wrong, but the interviewer seems to ask questions that are insulting to artists. Almost as though he's acting above them. If he asked better questions instead of obvious ones, he would be a much better interviewer. He needs more imagination. I guess I shouldn't have called him a knob, but I think he needs to do more work.

  • Seriously? I find interviews on Q to always seem so welcoming and open. Jian always asks questions very pertinent to the artists too. He's got his research down. It's almost like he's always been a huge fan of every artist he interviews.

  • Billy Bob's rude and arrogant attitude being such an a--hole had nothing to do with Jian. BB had absolutely no intention of doing that interview seriously and he thinks he can insult Canadians in any ways he wants.

  • You're an idiot, sanQ.

  • haha Thanks! I love your commentaries by the way, I think you're a genius.

  • She seems like such a genuine person.

  • She comes across so nice and friendly. Yup, still a fan. :-)

  • ive never seen her repeating herself during two different interviews. there most be a point. there might be not though haha

  • she may be terrified about her book, but i know myself and all her fans are DYINGGGG to get their hands on it!!! :) :)

  • her hair looks amazing...

  • Well I think it bullshit

  • great interview he did his homework and wow alanis is a goddess ...

  • eine sehr beeindruckende Frau.Sie hat so viel Ausstrahlung.Ein besonderer Mensch.Hat mich in einer schweren Zeit weitergebracht.

  • she' s so lovely

  • alanis is so great... i love her and her music...

anytime she speaks, she sounds so articulate, diplomatic and poised... and she has always been real...

    i have always been a die-hard fan :)

  • yup yup i agree with you on all parts

  • Uhauahahauha ma è L'aura!!

  • I don't know how she can say she didn't know what was going on in pop culture and only knew some Whitney, Aretha, some hip-hop. Has she forgotten she finished a dance-pop record called 'Now Is The Time' just two years before? ANOTHER called 'Alanis' just a year before that? It's like she actually believes the marketing for JLP before her own experience!

Alanis will probably always fascinate me like she has. But I think she's been in LA for too long at this point!

  • "would i like to have tons of money all the time"

im sure you already do alanis.. you dont sell some ridiculous amount of records (50 million?) and not have money to burn LOL...

  • Has her view on god changed?

Shortly after writing Uninvited, she said of 'god': "I believe your intuition or your gut is the voice that some might call angels and I just believe in that. There's all kinds of different terms and gods that we can use for it."

Although she hasn't said so explicitly, I get the impression her view of 'god' has reverted to a more traditional one.

    Any ideas?

  • possibly, she said not too long ago on howard stern that she wasnt religious though.

whatever, its somewhat sickening that she seems to think g-o-d dictates her every move but i still love her

  • I love her, she's a great human being! Ryan Reynolds really fk'd up!

  • shes awesome.... i love her!!!

  • I love this interview, great!

    Love U Alanis!

  • Are you refering too Alanis??? lol. If so I suggest you read some of her lyrics.

  • Ignoring context, simple music for people who appreciate simplicity. Judging people on taste is an absolutely waste of energy.

  • WOW!!!!!

  • she's got a sort of cher vibe all over again! hahahah

  • amoooo essa louca

  • ALanis Morissette for president of Canada!!

  • Really awsome!! she is so talented and all but stupid, you can see how clever she is from every word she says!!!so bad most of the other artists are not so good as she is... Alanis forever!!!

  • she looks so beautiful in this video i love her hair style :)

  • She's wonderful!! I hate when he keeps refering to Jagged Little Pill, So what that was 13 years ago and this is now! Flavors Of Entangled has a different vibe from a different era! I love Jagged Little Pill, But i hate when ppl refer to that of alanis, she has done some great albums since. I loved Supposed Former! That is definitely one of Alanis's great albums. I loved Under Rug Swept, she showed her producing skillz on that album! Hope she does more producing! =]

  • love her

  • wonderful interview. Alanis looks great. Can't wait to see her again in concert. FOE is simply awesome.

  • guilt and faith are practically synonymous isnt it.

  • nope... being selectively reductionist and being wrong can be synonyms. on the other hand.

  • "You won't judge me for being a faith-filled woman?" *_________*

  • OMG I loved her haircut *-*

She is such a "human" person. lol

  • you mean like a "human" being?!!...

  • Don't worry, I know what you meant.

  • He was a great interviewer, I think Alanis felt at ease in his presence! More to the point, how frikin much am I in love with Alanis? ALOT!!

  • Alanis is such a constant in my cd player when I'm walking, running, doing math, etc... Alanis, big fan since 1998 WHOO!!!

  • What an amazing interview, really!

  • Truly authentic, beautiful and talented.

  • agreed. icon!
