Oh my God... I cant take the stupidity and ignorance of science in this area. Consciousness is very very very SIMPLE and not this complicated. IT IS SIMPLY SELF AWARENESS. IT IS THE KNOWLEDGE OF EXISTENCE NOTHING MORE!
Consciousness as rightly pointed out by the guru cannot be defined in any language since all languages are limitations in consciousness.
According to the great sages, consciousness is absolute, infinite , limitless & the totaility of all - it is in many scriptures simplified for the limited human intellect as- being, knowing and enjoying being knowing , it is that which is all without any bias .. the totality of all ... Om Tat Sat !!!
Nisargadatta, John Wheeler, Sailor Bob and others say that, "I am not the mind; I am not th body; I am not consciousness or unconciousness; what I am is beyond consciousness. Beyond consciousness is 'awaeness', TRUTH, REALITY, the realself. Consciousness rises and false (as is ovbious when you sleep); hence it cannot be the True Nature. That is also my experience.
Consciousness is the thought of existence. layer upon layer of thought. Forms are made of thought. The seed of holographic consciousness resides in all points. It grows into itself. You are you and you are the Whole. How to expand consciousness is a matter of illustration. In dreams we shrink our consciousness, when awake it expands. Drive a ship or car and you sense their place as consciousness expands. Drive the Planet and the Universe, feel it all inside yourself, it truly is. Life goes on
Consciousness is just a by-product of uniquely structured chemistry. We have the rare opportunity of enjoying it. Time should not be wasted dallying in superstitions and embracing irrational laws that paralyze life. Google Doe’s Account.
You may as well listen to a donkey braying and understand full well that it is the consciousness that is in the donkey which makes it bray. Instead of that some pay thousands of euros to listen to this idiot in what is called retreats. What nonsense. Wayne is no sage. Don't be stupid to think he is one. Does he look like one to you? Use common sense. There are no Sages living today at the present time.
I respectfully disagree with U.. Sages like Ramana and Nisargadatta are not interested in money, fame, advertisement and commerce. But if you consider Rajasekaran aka Nityananda to be a Sage it is ur personal opinion. You should not believe everyone who cliams himself to be a Sage to be so. Just because a person has a large following and is famous does not make him or her a Sage. Personally I feel if U look within you will realize U are not in any way inferior to Rajasekaran.
Just because people put on orange robes and give lectures and make themselves known to the world in YOUtube based on mere book knowledge does not make one a Sage. Be on your guard. It is far better to look within and trust ur own SELF or Consciousness. It is very easy to believe someone else because one feels that Consciousness or God is apart from them. But God or Consciousness is with U. So please trust UR own SELF instead of these people who parade themselves as Sages.
I appreciate his talking on the subject but this video really wasnt very enlightening. Alan Watts had been a much better teacher, but thank you for trying.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Is this guy drunk or something? He obviously has no idea what he is talking about. What's all this stuff about God and mysticism all about? Consciousness is a biological phenomenon. He's not even discussing consciousness at all. He needs to go and read up on the actual issue being trying to give an answer to a difficult question he knows nothing about.
Saint Wayne is asking a lot of important questions.
He loves to use the word "pointer".
But he won't "point" his listeners to a source other than his "teaching".
Knowing that consciousness is not a "thing" isn't enough to free us from suffering.
Try it. Your own intellect can show you that consciousness is not a "thing". Do you suddenly love your wife or children more? Do you love yourself more?
Nisargadatta could and did answer it and prescribed the method of understanding it. Read him. Try it. The book is called I Am That. When you read it you'll know you are in the company of a true master. (Even though Saint Wayne never mentions him).
All fake gurus steer clear of the real masters. The fakes sell themselves and hide the masters away. But Truth can never be hidden. Especially by fakes.
I like this guy's teachings but I can't remove the image of him holding a lobster, ready to boil it to its death, out of my mind. Anybody else see that photo? Did Wayne boil a lobster to death?
Yeah, I know.. Arjuna didn't really kill his cousins, it's was all divine play and I understand that, but that image of Wayne and the lobster bugs the heck out of me.
It's hard for me to accept Wayne's behavior because this man is supposedly in the lineage of Ramana, who is so full of goodness.. God Himself. Why would anyone listen to this bozo when he clearly doesn't value Bhagavan's life example?
God is consciousness unfolding and here's the kicker...it's unfolding in EVERYTHING...you, me and Wayne. I've spent a lot of time with him over the years and I can tell you first hand he is pure love at his truth. Breath don't judge or label and accept all that is.
Religion and philosophy are hard to understand, because the words have to be transformed into a concept which you understand. It helps to try to visualise the words, because religion is nothing more than the physics of the unseen world.
conciousness is awareness of our physical realm higher conciousness is awarness of the intuitive body combind with our logical phisical bodys. the balance between abstranct thought and logic. one that is truly spiritual the corellations between both realms.
Who or What is aware of these conditioned concepts and definitions? How were they derived... what is your authority? What is before all questions and limited semantic distinctions? What exactly do you mean by "awareness" and "spiritual" - essential but still undefined terms embedded within your definitions. Does the mirror reflect itself, or at best its own image? Does the reflection of the mirror contain the reflection of the mirror? . . .
i think consciousness is an energy force, indivisible and infinite, that is intelligence and awareness, gaining knowledge of it's environment through using the body to sense external vibrations, and communicating though inducing the body to generate vibrations internally
if consiousness would be an energy if would be compounded and material in a subtle way.. all material things are compounded and impermanent..they are not eternal
That is incorrect. All "material" is in fact energy in various states of excitation. Energy is never lost or gained. It just changes form. "energy" is in fact, eternal. It's temporary states are not.
There is indeed evidence for entropy. That is one of the most ignorant statements I've ever seen, honestly. Look around your computer right now - dust is evidence of entropy. If you want a more technical example, read a physics or chemistry book. When a system changes, energy spontaneously disperses from being localized to becoming spread out if it is not hindered from doing so. This dispersion results in the loss of energy over time.
Energy disperses from being localized, but it doesn't disappear. It just spreads out and is reused again in some other way. Its still the same energy, it just changed form. You're both right.
there is no mystic anything...this is pure mind work, not magic. What works for him , may not work for others...really, he's just making us think it out and decide for ourselves...
Mystic knowledge is the ability to see hidden reality. Some people are able to do this better than others. If you think reality is limited to the visible, then you understand nothing.
Too slow for a modern sage. Too much time between his sentences, and a weird so-called spiritual grin on his face. If you wanna be a teacher, don't waste the listener's time. Prepare yourself, and then speak forcefully.
This is exactly how on would want a sage to be like. To speak fast and not take time to think first is a bad way to teach. The student must learn to be patient and make the time, or else there is no practice to higher consciousness. To get there, meditation. And that requires patience. Speaking as he does shows that he is thinking this out as he speaks rater than remembering from wrote. Many sages do this.
As for his "grin", that is a very narrow-minded and prejusticed way to look at it all. Rather than focus on his apperance, perhpas your precious time would be better used on listening to the message. Be happy that he speaks clearly. The message is more important than the package that it comes in.
All the teachers I feel are authentic have pauses between words. They are waiting for the words to appear rather than memorizing a speech. If I want a memorized speech I'll go listen to some lying politician.

Vacuum and Electron are material basis of Consciousness
Now situation is:
nobody knows what Vacuum and Electron are The problem of the exact description of vacuum is the basic problem now before physics Paul Dirac
You know, it would be sufficient to really understand the electron Albert Einstein
So, when we understand Vacuum and Electron
we will know Ultimate Nature of Reality, it means we will know material basis of Consciousness too

If I remember, we start out as pre-baby knowing nothing.
Sometime between fetus & baby we grow a brain.
Without a brain, we cannot know nor think.
As we grow in knowledge, we become more aware.
As we become more aware, we become more alive.
There we have it. Consciousness is knowledge.
You don't automatically start out knowing you are you. You learn so from stimuli received nearing birth, or perhaps after...
