For those of you offering to share the sheet music...don't. Andrew White has spent countless hours transcribing Trane's playing, and you should respect his copyright on the page. The solo probably only costs five or ten dollars, so don't be lazy. Pay for it and get it right. Better yet, transcribe it yourself so that you can learn more.
not ironic in the least. A young player has to deal with train like air, water & light. I've spent hours with people, watching them discuss alternate transcriptions. It's how some learn..
Yes, that is what i think, too. Thats why I only filmed the beginning - so you have to do your own improvisation later. ... and, its only some notes - you are not able to whrite in notes what Coltrane did (expression etc.) so, there is missing a lot, everything, what is not possible to fix it in a notation...and: Improvisations are for the moment...so its ironic at all, to record a Improvisation and put it on a CD, so you can listen to it a tousend times again...maybe...
This was Tranes middle period. It wasn't about chord changes. Instead about modality or pedal point improvisation. Tyner, though, did superimpose harmony, but that isn't how Trane was thinking.
Does anyone know where I can download the piano sheet music?

is it just me who finds it ironic that this is notated so precisely?

The solo was transcribed by Andrew White. I have a copy myself. It may be still available to purchase somewhere.

very good, why dont you scan images of the notation and play it as a slide show.

I tryed that, that was my first idea, but it was to complicate for me. To take a video was much more easyer. Please use the pause-button.
I can send the sheet music, but only, when that person promise to put it on a public plattform, where everybody can download it from. Thank you!
