Hey Mr. - Is that a 5 string banjo? Is it tuned like a regular banjo. I want to build a 5 string, but don't want to be bothered by the 5th peg. Thanks!
@wadester1969 Yes it's a 5 string. My workaround to avoid the 5th peg was mount five machine heads on the headstock and pass all five strings over the nut. For the 5th string, the high G, I drilled a hole in the fingerboard 6-19/32 inches from the front of the nut, put in a small screw and use the side of the screw as a "fret" in order to get it tuned. It's tuned like a regular banjo, in open G.
this is awesome
