  • Always loved the running gag Avery did about the Mother In Law!! LMAO!!!

  • 2:14 This one should be built.

  • Yes, I fucking love these cartoons! I watched them when I was 8 years old and in spanish (I'm from Argentina) so I had no idea how to search for them, and today I suddenly remembred the name "Tex Avery". Thanks!!

  • Classic Cartoons are the best. Who cares if they aren't pc in this age. This was when comedy was pure and no one took offence. Damn hippies and their movements!

  • 5:52 CREEEPYYYYYY!!!

  • Ah good old 20th century sexism.

  • Oh man, I loved this and the House of Tomorrow. These are so great!

  • 3:57 check out BOB NEWHART THR DRIVING INSTRUCTOR

then there is a fact the term "Woman Driver" existed ect...at some time in culture...

  • I like the butt on the lady car.

  • cartoons today are garbage, I think that's why kids are so fucked up.

  • @MPSecare Nah. I think the western world as a whole is going to crap.

  • @MPSecare well, i dunno if i am a kid to you ('86) but i agree with you, today's cartoons are pure crap!

  • @buzzzatho you're like 5 years younger than me same span I'd say !! You caught the back end of the 80s classics and some good 90's stuff (Animaniacs anyone?) so you should be good to go!!!

  • @MPSecare Thx! XD, i have a theory, ppl born after '92 will never know what life is all about!

  • for all those people who have pet girafes, yeah I'm part of them.

  • isnt the stuff about women more offensive than the stuff about ethnicity?

  • @denverm4x ah that stuff didnt exist back then..... jk

  • I get the feeling Tex Avery didn't much like his mother-in-law.

  • "Just let 'em TRY to get away." XD

  • oh snap! tex avery just made a crack at scottish people for being cheap. I am so offended! quick someone call the ACLU!!!111!!

  • @moobie1010 The ACLU would defend Avery's constitutional right to free speech. They are not the PC-police. Quite the opposite in this case, regardless of what many would have you believe.

  • So, why were the Chinese and Indian cars offensive, but the Scottsman's car wasn't?

  • Why don't they make cartoons like this an more...?

  • @20windfisch11 Because the western world is rapidly turning into crap.

  • The 1st car is the postwar Studebaker "which way is it going" the 3rd is the Hudson "step down" , The car with the 'Sunvisor" is a 1950 Bullet nose Studebaker, The Indian convertible is a Pontiac "Chief", Chrysler had a "Town and country model, Buick had a big family station wagon and was known for its portholes ( no mother in law seat though,) Cadillac came out with tailfins in 49 known as fishtails, Headroom car resembles a Nash, turn signals were a option in 51.

  • I have a pet giraffe

  • I do like the New sealed beam headlights

  • S 4 S - I SUB BACK 100%

  • The women's car REALLY has some junk in that trunk

  • wow as I looked at the last car for $545, the time here just so happened to be 5:45 ;)

  • have to love the blatant racism and sexism present in the fifties. -.-

  • haha women are awful drivers.

  • "Bugs in the engine" seemed really early popular usage of "bug" for a defect, but the Wikipedia Software bug article reveals Thomas Edison was talking about bugs in his inventions in 1878.

  • Finally! A car that takes into account my pet giraffe!

  • There is NOTHING wrong with those 2 brief "uncensored" bits. Everyone is so touchy! So glad this is in tact! LOVE Tex! I want the foldable car too!

  • They also edited the part on this episode where the car had the glass bottom on the car so that after you ran over the person you were trying to hit..you can look at the glass bottom to see if he was a friend of yours.

  • Lol the Jetsons did the mother in law one too.

  • lmao @ 3:00 the mother-in-law

  • LMAO @ 4:27

  • "Here is the step down model..." lmao! XD

  • awww, the cartoons of my childhood :')

  • LMAO after all these years and still women can't drive XD

  • Pet Giraffes? IMPOSSIBLE!!!!

  • These are the cartoons i grew up with. Todays cartoons suck ass.

  • $545.00....that is what it would take to fill the gas tank of that car nowadays.....sheesh

  • OMG, I loved all the "Tomorrow" Cartoons!! Haven't seen these, in ages.

  • We remember those days. Great cartoon.

  • this was one of my favorite cartoons when I was a kid. this stuff, like transformers just sparked something inside of me.

  • Uncensored what?

  • @supersonicbros23 You didn't even try to read the comments...

  • @avada0 comments? i was taught to look at the description first :P

  • @supersonicbros23 exactly, uncensored what, I seen nothing there that should be censored. This is hilarious! XD

  • turning right..no left...no Right! uhh...LEFT! err...STRAIGHT AHEAD!!! hahahahaha damn that's comedy!

  • OHH! I am so glad i found this, Does anyone have a list of all of these, Right now i am watching Farm of Tomorrow, I was watching Boomerang and it came on, thats how i was able to find this one. I remember there was Several of these type, There was a house of tomorrow, this one, Farm one, anyone else know any? Also There was once where they traveled across the world and visited different cultures and poked fun, I wanna find all the ones like this where it did not focus on a certain character.

  • @philly515 I don't know of a travel version. Anyway I have a list of Tex Avery MGM cartoons on my profile description. Or you could check out his wikipedia article.

  • @philly515 There was also a TV-set of the future one. Never heard of the travel one but let us know when you find it yeah?!

  • @philly515 ill pm u a link to most if not all of tex avery's toons, if anybody else would like it ill send it when i get on, just pm

  • @philly515 wikipedia

  • @philly515 The travel ones were done when he was still with Warner Brothers as, Fred Avery.

  • The female car is my fav, but I don't think any girl would buy it. Maybe Hugh Heffner would though.

  • I haven't seen this uncensored version since I was a kid in the 60's & 70's. I honestly don't see what the problem was. Oh, well.

  • Great cartoon from great time.

  • 1:54 DAT ASS XD

  • That part of the woman driving, was kind of sexist. But funny hahaha

  • 2:13 Why hasn't that car been made yet?

  • @ChrisMolyneaux93 That's what I was saying.

  • 4:20-4:38 Scary shit "Just let them try to get away!"

  • its really funny at the end the price of the model with all the accessories is a complete steal for a new car in todays market..........god i sound like my dad lol!!

  • XD i died at the pedestrian bit. so awful!!

  • LOL women drivers still suck 60 years later

  • I saw the cartoon today on Boomerang. The only parts that were censored were the Indian and Chinese car jokes. Everything else was the exact same.

  • Cartoons back then were the best

  • car reference mercury highline Guardian terraplane Gremlin vaddette sun liner micro car Pontiac Indian Beetle town and country sports wagon ABS impala mustang mountaineer

  • where is the censorship in this episode! not understand

  • @penguinrobotme

    Read comments.

  • @penguinrobotme Maybe all the old-fashioned sterotypes. Cartoons back then didnt have to be politcally correct, y'know....

  • @penguinrobotme Its supposed to be corny and make fun of norms.

  • anyone know the name of the video with a dog who uses a cat to go around and get food for him?

  • Yeah but back then the cars were more impressive and good looking. Today they look like golf carts and toasters.

  • @FBIHank

Old american cars were bloated fuel-guzzling rolling coffins. Even nowadays a lot of them are oversized.

  • @avada0 STFU liberal fag. old cars were far more distinguished in design.

  • @illuminatioracle Maybe true, but my point still stands. Actually I was wrong with the old adjective. A lot of american cars are still oversized wasteful heaps of crap like the f-150 and the dodge ram.

  • @avada0

    My F-150 serves me well!

  • @avada0 My F-150 serves me well!!

Anyhow, the vid was a hoot! Thanks for posting.

  • @avada0 if you're going to pick on oversized cars, pick something that is actually oversized for no reason. a lot of blue-collar people depend on the f-150 and dodge ram for work. there's a good reason these trucks exist.

  • @Jack59Derringer

The current f-150 is not a work car its a show-off car. And bulky at that..

  • @Jack59Derringer Oh you mean like the Hummer H2 or Cadillac Escalade?

  • @uofmrules1 that's exactly the kind of crap i'm talking about. there's no point to it. it's all for show. why does a housewife need an H2? why are escalades polluting hip hop videos? same reason rednecks put giant tires on their pickups... it's a penis extension.

  • @illuminatioracle By the way you're a great example of the stupid american stereotype. You start shouting "liberal" as a reflex. Shitty cars have nothing to do with liberty.

  • @avada0

    -

The older cars were bigger, but that makes them more appealing sometimes. I love, for instance, how nice and big the Chrysler New Yorker of the 70s were on the inside. Very luxurious with plenty of elbow room. And granted automotive safety wasn't as advanced back then, but that came with time.

  • @FBIHank So how about this cartoon? Great stuff, right?

  • The irony is, the cartoon is still relevant today (with today's crappy automobile designs)

  • @zenithomega19 Yeah but Back then cars were more impressive and good looking. Today they look like golf carts and toasters.

  • the women drivers and mother in laws are old jokes, but I happen to have a video of a live showing of this cartoon where the crowd is cracking up laughing. I was gonna post it on another account, but it got disabled for me to put any more videos on, but... the youtube account is still there

    LateNightStonerFilms

also what year was this cartoon made?

  • @MichaelHansenFUN The title card is too blurry but according to wikipedia it was made in 1951.

  • I want the one that lets you see who you're running over.

    I've always wondered.....

  • 4:33 - omg, this is so violent!.. XD

  • LOL, I want a scottsmen's car.

  • What do u think happens after we die?

  • I love the sound effect on the shaving guy as he puts his head back on LOL. Never thought I'd use that sentence, ever!

  • Ah 1951. Politically incorrect and proud of it.

  • 5:55 a car like today $545.00 is cheap for a used car

  • I did a search for Tex Avery cartoons and this came up, despite the fact that in the opening credits it clearly states that it was directed by Fred Quimby.

  • @Firefax

"Car of Tomorrow - Directed by Tex Avery"

    "Produced by Fred Quimby"

  • In spanish, some jokes got lost in translation, it's clear to me that in latinamerica the dubbing teams cutted some parts that are difficult or impossible to understand as jokes in spanish, like the "bugs" in the engine of that car, that term cannot be translated in a funny way.

  • cartoons back then where not ment for cheap loughs how is it to day does any one agree with me

  • As a car collector I can tell yuo the cars, the 1st one was the 47-49 Studebaker 4 door, From the side, it has a which way is it going look, Hudson had the "step down" style. The car wiith the sunvisor is a 50-51 studebaker bulletnose. The indian is a Pontaic chief convertible, The Ampibian car ( car/boat), The Buick stationwagon has the front end and portholes, Cadillac invented thefish tail, Chrysler "town & country", Nash headroom, love this cartoon, thanks for posting it.

  • 1:58 *Honk Honk Honk QUAAAAAAACK!* That's funny!

  • the girl and guy one was so creepy

  • SKrY209.tk

  • wife cracking up the fenders, hahaha

  • there used to be a black joke on the "glass bottom car" bit.... god im old...

  • is 1:48 maryln monroe?

  • actually at 2:33 there has been some car boats made lol Not amphibious either

  • I want the foldable car! no parking needed.

  • Love all of Tex Avery's "...of Tomorrow" shorts. I remember seeing this as a kid and laughing; as an adult, I get many more of the jokes. That's the beauty of Avery's work: it's timeless hilarity.

  • Love all of Tex Avery's "...of Tomorrow" shorts.

  • LOL!!!!! WOMEN DRIVERS!!

  • so wheres that 545.00 car of tomorrow ???

  • Guys, you need to remember that this was made in the 40's and 50's... that's history, this is now... get over it and laugh! I'm a 19 year old female and I'm giggling at this... sheesh, people are so uptight in today's society...

  • @haloXgirlX09 -- true, the 40s and 50s were an age of common sense and truth -- unlike today. People were a hell of a lot friendlier and happier too.

  • @Lupercirculus Expect that whole "blacks not allowed to vote" thing.

  • @haloXgirlX09 seriously I wish they would just show old cartoons in their original form. It's part of history. That's how things were portrayed back then and it was "okay" back then. It's funny. Some of it is racist, but it's just a damn cartoon. I look at a lot of cartoons as historical to see what was allowed back then and most of it doesn't even bother me. People should just learn to laugh at things.

  • 2:17 A little like the Jetson's?

  • So politically incorrect... I love it.

  • @viol999 Quite refreshing indeed.

  • If only the hacks at GM had watched this cartoon, and designed some of their Blechh-Mobiles with Avery's features, they wouldn't be in the shape they're in now.

  • Tex Avery = jab at the mother in law LOL

  • 4:13 What a beatnik

  • It seems the lady car has some junk in the trunk.

  • Gotta love the date-rape-mobile

  • anti-pedestrian car FTW

  • THANK YOU FOR POSTING! This is my favorite cartoon ever. Not sure why, but this one stuck in my head more than any other. LOVE the one with the wide bumper and glass floor! Thanks for letting me relive this childhood memory!

  • The issue with Tex Avery's cartoons is..he pretty much made it clear how he felt..not only about what his idea of a cartoon was..but he expressed it..as examples..he must have hated his mother-in-law...didn't consider blacks equals..and thought a woman's place was in the home. I mean..I can understand the political police having concerns..but this is classic cartoons folks..if you don't like it..don't watch it. I loved Tex Avery's cartoons personally. It's a shame they were cut up like that.

  • Well, I doubt those were all even Tex's personal feelings. I'm sure he wouldn't have got as far as he did in animation if he were only pandering to HIS own sense of humor. He thought other people would find those things funny, and they are. I laughed plenty. This is the golden age of cartoons. Everything wasn't so hush-hush and over scrutinized. What "racism" there is isn't nearly as offensive as today's comedians. It's all just light fun and a little stereotyping. I love these cartoons.

  • @texasghost Tex Avery's cartoons are not necessarily a [complete] reflection of his personal views. It appears to me that he's utilizing certain obvious stereotypes as a humor vehicle via exaggeration.

  • They need to bring out that thrifty Scotsman-type car. That would really help us in times like these!

  • they should really to a automatic shaver in a car

  • lol @ racism

  • Car of Tomorrow---NASCAR should take notice :D

  • I don't see why this would need to be censored

  • soooooooo funny

  • Thrifty Scottsman! My favorite kind of Socttsman!

  • I could totally dig having a car that allows for a smoother date, but not the one where I could easily risk "Cutting" my head off.

  • super imaginative!

  • I may be falling in love with youtube. When this came on before school in the morning I thought it was super awesome bonus day.

  • Fishtail design

  • wired they didnt include the black people's car, i mean, if u r gonna be racist, then get the hole package =P

  • you need to see this LIVE

  • 1:46-1:56 Wow picturing if they made that in real life.

  • Love this cartoon. I remember seeing the uncut version when i was little before all the Politically Correct garbage. So many funny cartoons will never be seen again just because a handful of people get offended.

  • super sensitive breaks!!!!! lol

  • I love the pedestrian murdering one.

  • Women have and will always be shitty drivers as Tex Avery knew well as he subtley stereotyped the typical women driver of the 50's in his cartoons - funny stuff.

  • hmm,Not one car made to save gas,not pollute. No GPS? And how about the colors of those cars? None of this dark grey/silver/black on every single friggin new car today....

  • "For all those people who have pet girrafes! XD

  • From 2:41 to 2:48, they should bring that car into existence, in this day and age. It would probably be much safer for the environment.

  • Is that woman narrator June Foray?

  • @disneyfan85 I'm fairly sure it is. I don't have any proof but it certainly sounds enough like Rocky (Rocket J. Squirrel, of Rocky & Bullwinkle fame) and she did his voice as well.

Not sure I understand why he chinese car would be censored, it's not like they don't actually have rickshaws in China. Not to mention the pedestrian hitting car wasn't censored but it seems like it would be. "...so you can see if he was a friend of yours." Ha! classic.

  • @disneyfan85 Yes, that was June Foray narrating about the "stunning Paris creation" - she was also the voice for women drivers (4:12)

  • I dont see why the woman one nor the native ones would be cut, that's just unnessecary 'political correctness'.

However, how the pedestrian survives uncensored is beyond me XD I keep thinking "Youd NEVER get away with that in a kids cartoon these days!

  • 5:22

for some reason these two remind me of Betty and Archie

  • nostalgia heaven

  • LOL Call 2121 Ambulance Service, in the years before 911.

  • Finally, now I bring my pet giraffe to work with me!

  • @ooozetoons FINALLY!!

  • Man, they would never make cartoons like this today...
