Glenn Langan is like my fourth cousin. My last name is Langan. When my father was little Glenn died and my grandparents almost got the money he had. Their Neighbor ended up being more closely related then they were LOL! It's very possible we are somewhat related youreapeach1, unless he's your great-uncle by marriage.
@youreapeach1 That's really cool. I remember watching this movie as a kid. Whenever I'm reminded of "giants", I think of this movie. That's what made me look it up. I always felt sorry for the Colossal man.
People tend to razz these movies but having seen them as a little kid, Bert Gordon really managed to capture images (like that poor guy getting impaled by the giant hypo) that were really memorable and terrifying -- at least they scared the living hell out of me when I was a little kid. Same thing with Cyclops and Colossal Beast and Beginning of the End -- cheap as they were, I remember all of them vividly.
But ask me what happened in Lara Croft Tomb Raider -- I have no idea.
"Excuse the smell Carol I'm taking a collosal dump in the nearby canyon.Doyou know how it feels to pinch a loaf the size of a house?Cough ,cough, get out .I don't want to grow anymore..I don't want to grow anymore!!"
I watched it today. It is one of the better sci-fi-films from the late 50's not as good as Jack Arnold's "shrinking man" but much better than the average drive in movie from the 50's.The special effects are not that bad for a low budget film. The film is still entertaining & not ridiculous at all.
@2009framat I agree, and one that I can sit and watch with my kids around and NOT have to worry about what is in it. Yeah, its a "B" flick...but compaired to todays movies...it's pretty darn good!! I agree with you!! :)
He killed him for trying to help? Well that was pretty rude

That's my great-uncle Glenn. It's a shame he didn't find many more roles in Hollywood.

The Amazing Colassal Man hooked up with the 50 Foot Woman. That night there was a magnitude 6 on the Richter Scale.
