It's as simple as this; you lose a LOT in translation, and it works both ways. Now chief is OK, keyes is not terrible, and I saw the jap version of Halo 3's opening cutscene, and the arbiter wasn't bad at all. But the original's are ALWAYS better. Johnson just sucks in japanese, the character just isn't the same.
