  • now you got soda!

  • ??? doesn't (Na) explode to water??

  • @MrDaggonoth Sodium can explode when reacting with water, but it is because of the combination of heat generated during the reaction and hydrogen gas generated as a part of the reaction which causes the explosion.

  • @MrDaggonoth i remember doing this in my chem class about a month ago xD it shot sparks and it nearly went to the roof

  • Why go to school when we have mrericsully on youtube? :P

  • i remember one time in high school, we burned bubbles in chemistry class. it waz awsome until we almost caught the roof on fire and the fire alarm went off, LOL.

  • @SuperLaw911 I have two videos of that- search my channel for "methane gas bubbles".

  • how did you get pure sodium?

  • @darkflames911 I buy it from a chemical supplier, I know some people have had success purchasing it on eBay, or you can do like Sir Humphrey Davy did when he discovered it and electrolyze it from molten sodium hydroxide.

  • Oh, so that's why they didnt let us do that in the lab...

  • When I was in high school, an intelligent guy from my class was doing his own experiments while we were doing what was asked. He put water on sodium chunk, there was an explosion in the lab.

  • when we did this, there was an explosion, but that's because we used a bigger chunk

  • Now only if they sold this stuff at stores that would be awesome.
