i want to geeet halo lights but shhould i botherwith HIDs...are the halo lights alone bright, i know HID arextremly bright but could regualr halo lights still look good without it all set up
@tizzy6 Halo lights jsut add a "Cool" factor. I have them in my dodge and use them as Daytime running lights. If youw ant the halo lights look for those that ahve the ccfl halos as they are brighter than the standard halos. Most aftermarket headlights are of the projector style and can ahndle HID's fine. Just get the correct bulb around 4300k to 6000k and you will be fine. One other thing be sure to get a relay and the 35 watt balasts, the 50 watt balasts are just overdriving the bulbs.
i'm very familiar with 35w kits i never use special harness for the 35w but this one that comes with it even after connected the clicking noise comes from the controller because in this kit there is a socket that goes to the controller which you connect on the factory socket and then there is 2 black wires and one red that go directly to the battery, (the 2 black can be just to ground) but is cool, because even the seller can't help me, i may just going to go to with 35w or back to stock bulb
hi there! i saw your video a while ago, and i was thinking to go with the 2 color led but they are kind of expensive lol quick question! i got a 50w hid kit and when i hook it up lights didn't come on i can just hear a clicking noise every 2 seconds coming out from the controller, any ideas what can be wrong??? please help me!!!
@pkstar86 Most of the HID kit suppliers have relay harness' that should be able to cure your issue. Sounds like there is a voltage drop as your ballasts are trying to ignite and not able to pull enough current from the stock headlight harness.
@pkstar86 Something else for you. 50W kits are jsut overdriving the bulbs leading to them failing prematurely. If I was you I would go and buy a Philips 35W kit and install that instead. Plus as the other poster said a relay kit would hellp witht eh lights not working.
I got the exact same headlights but I can't get my hi beam halos to work. Do you have any ideas?? Everything else works as requried and the halos are CCFL style. Thanks.
IMO you kinda ruined your truck dude , I love the angels eyes but it only looks good on cars they come stock with, kinda euro-ish but that your style bro just my .02 cents
besides the bulbs, what else did you have buy/do for them to work right. mine take a little while to work right. starting out they dont work but after a while theyre fine. ANY IDEAS?
my buddy has the exact lights and they suck look good but suck the leds along the bottom keep going out and coming back on he had to replace like 5 of them
i dont know led's usualy last forever but they where burnt out he baught some cheap ones from canadian tire and they have lasted longer then the stock non have burnt out since then
Parking lights on, HID conversion off. Halo's are hardwired to a relay off of the radio lead on the ignition to come on as DRL. 6 LED below the lamps are now wired to turn off while the blinker is engaged via relay, so the amber from the blinker stands out more. Also put Nokya hyper yellows for high beams, wired the low beam HID's to stay on with high beams on.
I've got an 03 1500 and i'm thinking about getting some halo headlights. I had some in my GMC sierra and they were easy as hell to put in. However, it looks like it might be a bitch in my dodge. Did it take you long to put those in? From what I see I have to pull out a lot of stuff to get them in.
Plug and play for the most part. You will have to splice the Halo's and Led's to whatever power source you choose. I just spliced mine to the running lights.
Hey do you have any issues with the hid bulbs hitting the lens because i want these also for my 05 but the seller says they are only compatible with short hids and i have no idea where to get those.
Not even close to hitting the lens. I am not sure what they were saying about short HID's. Only retro I have seen that comes in a short version would be H3 style.
I ordered some, They look sweet from the pics of them, But they dont look like they have signal lights. If they dont, Who needs signal lights anyway :D, Sure they do...03 Ram 1500..Got a Mopar Cold Air intake to, Sounds real nice when You lay it on it lol, Anyhow Those look Great on your Truck...
Hey Eltaco71 You have a scion? What kind of scion???, and do you have projectors on them and HID's? Please reply i have a scion tc myself and just ordered my HID's Yesterday
Very neat man! Hey i want to get some halo headlights for my accord, but someone said i had to take the bumper off to install them, do you by any chance know if thats true? And thanks for making the comment on the color tempt about the hid kits, thinking of getting one also, but don't want it too blue i guess 6000k is the way to go right?
Added an HID 8000k kit now, wish I had gone with 6000k. 8000k is a bit more blue than what I was looking for, wanted to match the slight blue tint to the white LED's.
Looks Great. Whats the brand and model number for thhose halos?
Thanks!

3 watt resistors on the flasher lead, otherwise there will be a bulb out warning and they will only light amber.
Eltaco71 6 months ago
did you have to buy anything to prevent "hyperflash" because the leds are such low current or is it a plug an play thing?

Yes, to avoid hyper-blink and bulb-out warnings.

White and amber are the only colors allowed to project to the front of a vehicle. Other colors are for emergency vehicle use.
