@SuperPappys There are actually 3 species of venomous snake in Cyprus. I would just like to remind you that grass snake is actually non-venomous and the blunt-nosed viper is the only one that carries enough venom to kill a human being.
It's not that they are strange, it's that that species are definitely not found in Cyprus. I am not sure about the 4th species but only Vipera Lebetina Lebetina ("fina" in Cypriot language, the third shown in this video) of the first three can be found in Cyprus.

@Butcher851 they do look a bit wrongly coloured.Let me remind you that Vipera Lebetina Lebetina is an obsolete name, it's now Macrovipera Lebetina Cypriensis. The other snakes may very well be one of the other species that strikingly look similar to the Fina ( there are 2 species I know that look like it) It is a crucial part of their defences. If you look like a bad ass Fina, nobody screws you. With regard to your last question I'm a Turkish-speaking Cypriot and I hope this does not bother you.
Doesn't bother me at all and thanks for the correction, i am by no means a snake expert but i know that we only have that species here in Cyprus. The first two snakes i believe are sub species of the Vipera Lebetina species hence the similar appearance.
@Butcher851 Quite possible. Actually the second one looked quite like the Turan Viper, Macrovipera Lebetina Turanica but that species does not exist in Cyprus. Concerning the Fina, you're quite lucky to have these fascinating creatures as the Fina is practically extinct on the Northern side. I had to follow the same spot for over 7 months just to get the chance to see one. This happens when the hunters enjoy violence and bloodshed and there is no organisation to protect these beauties.
I am a bit suprised myself.
Always had the impression that we have only 1 venomous snake in Cyprus
(fina), which is seen as far as I can tell in picture 3.
How about the first 2 vipers?
especialy pic2, its the first time I see such a snake.
u sure we've got such things?
