No more than any other fan who pines over the limited facts that Claudio has given us about this awesome universe/mythology he has birthed. From what I understand, Ambellina seems to be chosen by those higher ranking in the Prise race to seek out Claudio "The Crowing" the prophesied savior of Heavens Fence. Why she must lose her wings (and hair) would be only guess work but it appears a necessity...

This still confuses me though as the Prise seem to be able to go to planets as the please in other parts of the story. Maybe it has something to do with "The Prophecy" as the Prise are not allowed to dabble in God's affairs. She must "become something less than a prise, but still something more than a man." I cannot be sure. We'll just have to wait and see..
