Try it again, but this time, put the mouthpieces farther out towards the corners of your mouth, i.e., relax and open the corners of your mouth but make the center of your mouth as if you are going to say the letter M. NOW put the center of the mouthpiece on each open corner of your mouth, and blow. SEE? you CAN play your flugel AND your trumpet at the same time ! I used to do this back when I had two horns
