the whole song is a guitar solo, and Vai would probably consider it a solo, and all I'm saying is in terms of rock band functions it should be charted as a solo, the same way surfing with the alien and satch boogie from satriani were charted.
um its the heightened portion of the song on guitar meaning that it should be charted as a solo thats what rock band does,Harmonix would clearly make it a solo, so don't argue with me I know what I'm talking about.
most people seem to simply be telling you that it's not a cover, but not providing an explanation.
Yes, Wavegroup made covers for GH games, however, they are not covering this song. the reason it says "Wavegroup" is because Wavegroup is now doing Rock Band Network authoring. So they didn't actually perform the music, but Wavegroup did all the charting/editing/animation/etc for this (and some other) track(s). I can understand the confusion.
not really into rock band or guitar hero games for either 360 or ps3 even though i own both, but since steve vai is one of my most influential guitarist of all time, i will buy the game on the day it's going to be released in N.A.
sadly, the guitar on the game is not an Ibanez replica which to me is a big let down as i've been an Ibanez guitar player all my life!!
too laggy. However, I have a newfound appreciation for rock band. I myself am a guitar hero man, but Rock band used Steve vai first, therefore, rock band rocks, because steve vai is the GOD of guitar!!! Good job rock band!
@Ragnorok321 Steve Vai actually appeared as Guitar Hero 3 DLC first with "For the Love of God" as part of a Guitar Virtuoso pack (with Satch and Buckethead) and did an arrangement of the Halo theme with Martin O'Donnell and Michael Salvatori. Just a little Wiki'd history.
Though if you're referring to Rock Band as the first to use Vai in the full band set up, then you'd be correct.
That's definitely weird. At the very least start the solo at the trill at 2:10. They still have time to change it, but maybe they felt like the whole song felt more like a solo so they shouldn't bother. Who knows?
for me gh has a best version

Love this song, but as long as we're getting Vai, I would REALLY love some Bangkok/Fire Garden or Whispering a Prayer.

Prayer would be EPIC! god i love that song.

Not a cover. All original. No covers in RBN. Yes, same WaveGroup who worked on GH.

I think it is the Live version of the Where The Wild Things Are Live DVD of Steve Vai

why do all my favorite songs always have to be used with the shitty live versions instead of the perfect studio version?
This is my favorite instrumental of all time and it is corrupted with a poor decision on Wavegroup's part.

I believe this is the live version with the symphony, man this song is magical.

My only complaint is the lack of a solo section, but that's just aesthetics. Looks great.
