  • Ade Blackburn, the writer of this gem of a classic will be recognized as the genius songwriter he has become. His prolific output of perfect songs will soon be unmasked, appreciated, purchased, adored and then burned for being too beautiful to live in this ugly world.... and as the ashes and smoke ascend to heaven so will we because we will not be able to live in a world without his musical gifts. Those who burn twice as bright burn half as long. RIP My little Blackburn, we hardly new ye.

  • @thirdunkle he didn't die?

  • a great band doing a cover of a great band. their's is way better than mine.

if anyone wants to see mine, jsut like for 'Clinic Fingers'.

  • I love Arcade Fire, and I love Clinic, they should NOT cover eachother!

  • Clinic covered Arcade Fire?

  • i like AF i like Clinic but this version just sucks..and the audience aswell..now thumbs down..

  • What was the song at the beginning?

  • neon bible

  • I like it

  • what does he says at 2:08?

  • '... don't know the words, but it's a nice song!'

  • Cool

  • Did I hear some mumbling around the second verse? Oh well. Otherwise, it sounds like the studio version might be pretty ace. And Clinic might be proud of it. Looking forward to it already.

  • Gosh, I LOVE it !! I wish I will see them play this song once...

  • stupid version

  • god! the crowd needs to SHUT UP. I saw arcade fire play this in Utah and the entire crowd was dead silent for this cover. it was amazing.

  • There were elements from a grand minority of the crowd who were doing that all night. Quite annoying. You can also hear good people shushing them if you listen closely. It would have been better if they punched him repeatedly in the face. I was also at the Electric Park show. Felt that the Portland one was much more powerful because it was the first time ever. But the Lehi version was much more beautiful when done in complete audience silence.

  • honestly, the vid was shot from the balcony of the schnitzer concert hall...affectionately known at the shitz. people sitting up there are pretty far away and dont' always feel a part of the concert-especially during the quieter songs. the previous time they played portland it was much better venue.

if you listen to the boots from this show - it's much quieter during this song.

  • what are you talking about? the schnitz is light years ahead of the crystal! this was an amazing show... AF themselves even said it was one of their better shows that tour... I would have to agree.

  • to be in the balcony of the schnitz sucks for anything except to 'watch' a symphony. the keller is better for a band like AF...the balcony isn't so huge.

the crystal was a great show. at least from this fans perspective. it may have been different from the first 20 rows on the floor of the shitz, but not in the balcony. seats at a rock concert=sux

  • ahh the balcony... i get it. i was 11th row. i talked with some of the guys from the band later that night and they were pumped at how the show went.

They were not supposed to play this song. Win just started singing and they had to play along. Explains the forgotten lyrics :)

    Crystal was fun though.

    1. Gorge 05

    2. Schnitz 07

    3. Crystal 06

    4. Coachella 07

    5. Seattle 07

  • I was in the front row. And apparently they had rehearsed it before, but it wasn't on the setlist for that night.

    *struts*

    1. Lehi 07

    2. Shoreline 07

    3. Greek - Berkeley 07 n2

    4. Greek - Berkeley 07 n1

    5. Red Rocks 07

  • I agree. by far the best show i've been to.

  • they honestly need to record a cover of this cause I will not stand for this sound quality or forgotten lyrics- otherwise it's perfect

  • this really is amazing

  • I *heart* this cover.

    I think he says "I want to know...the words - I suck"

  • beautiful. what does he say half way through it?

lou reed shouldn't have his lyrics nicked though!

  • "Distortions" by Clinic is great. However, the first two lines ("I'd like to know completely, what other soul discreetly, talk about") is Lou Reed's lines in the Velvet Underground song "Candy Says" from the self-titled album. I just felt like pointing that out.

  • so is "I want to know my body"

  • my goodness. AMAZING! two fabulous bands....

  • guess what everybody..i made an mp3 of this cover..

go to myspace..go to music..look up band entitled

    RARE ARCADE FIRE SONGS...

    it's there..

    i can't post a link in a comment..boo lol

  • you must be proud.

  • Wowee! Awesome.

  • This couldn't be better! I love the Arcade Fire & Clinic :D

  • agreed

  • I love Arcade Fire but this doesn't do the Clinic song justice.

  • You can tell the band was not expecting win to start playing it :) They had played around with the song and decided to not play it... oops!

Thanks for the video, what an amazing night!

  • Thanks for getting this up so fast! I was at the concert last night and was wondering what that song was.

    Did you record any Electrolane?

  • check out the original version from clinic at clinicvoot dot org
