those net like bags that onions come in (and other net like bags) can be crumpled up and used as scoring pads to clean pots, pans, bbq, bathrooms, bikes, lawn furniture etc. they can also be used the same way as those scrunche things in the shower that you put your suds on. good exfolliant for scrubbing feet.

i stock up on solar lights so that way when the power is out i go outside get a few put them around the house to light my way, theres no worry about having a match to light it like a candel and it wont cause a fire. you just have to put it back outside each day. safe for the kids solar lights run on batteries but they are rechargealble batteries that get powered up by the sun. a regular battery can be used as a replacement in a pinch but will eventually run out and need a new battery.
