Its encouraging to hear the way they play to be honest cause it seems i play all the same stuff as them....exercises wise and i love trivium so i couldnt be happier
I think they really know theory. It's hard to believe that they composed such a great album as Shogun (the others are also great but that's really the most complicated in my opinion) knowing nothing about music theory. It's just imposible to compose that harmonies and solos if you don't know a bit about harmony, scales and stuff.
You would think before doing an interview they would ask someone who knows something about guitar what arpeggios they are before looking like complete idiots. It's a god damn minor arpeggio!
You dont have to know theory to be a great guitarist. There are the ones who do it by ear and then there are the ones who learn the ways. Its like learning a new language in a school or learning a new language by yourself in that country
It gives you a good foundation for what you can do any how you can meld things such as the relative majors and minors together. Knowing theory can open so many more doors than random noodling. Sadly, I know theory very well on paper, but when it comes to applying it on my actual instrument I'm really quite stupid.
@DakkstarDarkling I'm kind of the opposite. I'll play something that I thought was really creative and unique and my music theory majoring friends tell me "Oh, that's a (whatever) scale. Basic!". I kinda feel stupid that way, lol.
And further, it just comes to show how learning a minor Diatonic (ROFL) arpeggio can help you. or major in matt's case. or even some smattering of knowledge of pentatonic vs. diatonic fingerings... Or even knowing only 3 or 4 of the seven modes. Lydian, Aoelian, and Ionian seem to be the ones i play the most... well phrygian when im doin some exotic kinda stuff... especially the harmonic minor and hungarian minor stuff.
You wanna know why they don't have to? Becuase they can play, there analytical side isn't great, but their creative side compensates for their theoretical weakness...
I call it the "just do it" theory, If you spend more time "doing it" whatever activity, you will get better, but theoretical knowledge is not just supplemental unless your creative/applicability side compensates in such a way as to negate theory... I teach martial arts... it helps...
I can't believe how some people think that Matt is a better guitarist. Corey has always been a step ahead of Matt....he just isn't that much into showing off.
Yea Hendrix was one of the biggest crowd pleasers. But if you could somehow revive him and get him to listen to Paul Gilbert etc, he would probably admit they are better
wow stupid arguement lol everybody knows that hendrix is a badass and if it wasnt for him we wouldnt have the awesome people we have today :] w.e TRIVIUM RULES! saw them live home state and birthplace of death metal FLORIDA and they were awesome :]
@Nubbiee Actually, fuck it. I know you'll come up with a bunch of shit about how bad he was at playing guitar, I like him, deal with it. The truth is, and I'm sorry to break the news to you, that you're a cunt. You probably don't even care about the music, you just want to be right. So I'll say this, I don't care if Jimi Hendrix is shit, my point is, that you can play guitar without knowing all the theory, I mean for fucks sake, open up your eyes and stop being so narrow fucking minded. Fin.
L O L. You can judge me based on a couple of questions and statements i made? Get over yourself you fuckhead. Of course i know guitarists can be great guitarists without knowing theory, but hendrix is not one of them. So you think i dont like music because what.....i dont like hendrix? And im the narrow minded one? You said "best guitarists" and im holding you to that. "Best guitarists" you say? So i ask. And you have yet to name me one besides hendrix.
Hendrix was not great, he was not the greatest nor he will he ever be. The "best guitarists" all know theory. Mediocre guitarists can play the guitar without the knowledge of theory. @Nubbiee Hendrix didn't had a fucking chance to learn the fucking musical theory that only wealthy people was able to learn due to their money, instead, he made up his own ways of playing and explored new sounds, sounds out of the close minded theory faggots spectrums, so he was a humble motherfucker with talent and a open mind, i guess those are the real factors to be a good guitarist, musical theory is very important, but you can also do a lot if you are just talented
I never said hendrix was a bad guitarist. He was a decent player but he was nothing over the top. Im talking about technicallity. His skill level was nothing special at all. But his image was huge. He was an idol for alot of people, but when people say hendrix was a great guitarist i just dont agree.
@Nubbiee k i accept you don't agree, i don't want to change anybody's mind, i don't really care about doing it, but i have something else to say, hendrix died before most of the guitarist you named were born, i think that you are not considering the factor time, i know it's not easy to recognize that if you weren't born in those times. but ask anyone hendrix was an alien back in the 60's
lol that i realize. He was great during his time period but now a days he would pretty much get destroyed. Im not trying to take away from the guy, i mean i respect everything he accomplished but it sometimes irritates me when he is highly praised.
@Nubbiee haha and i guess i get mad if someone just call him mediocre. anyways i think it was a bad idea to compare guitar players that were/are active in different decades (if anything that i've said doesn't make any sence or is misspelled that's because i don't really speak english, so)
@Nubbiee man because you dont understand what make for rock and metal music, so what he dont makes solos like stevie vai and other most riffs, at this day, most heavy riffs have roots on Hendrix style thats we say hendrix is a legend, he make own and new style and show us what we can do on guitar and after him music evolution

He was not a "technical" player but he was definetly creative. Get your shit straight before you try and attack me.
Wrong, theory is extremely useful. People who say theory isn't useful are the people who don't understand it at all. Talk to some real musicians, not just some wanking guitar hacks, and you'll understand.
@ThrownToTheWolves Wrong. Most of the "best" guitarists know their theory, like Guthrie Govan. These guys are good, but they're only good at wanking, with limited theory.
@ThrownToTheWolves Some of them...but the overwhelming majority of the best DO. Check out other interviews, Corey clearly knows his theory to a fairly decent level, he was taught by a jazz fusion guitarist for crying out loud. Matt obviously knows his scales too.
There are very very few great guitarists who have no knowledge of theory and those too lazy to actually learn any like to hold onto those examples to feel better about themselves, unless you are 1 in a million you need it.
@MetalguitarlessonsUK Fair point, but I'm not saying guitarists don't need any theory at all. Regardless of how many there is, there is still people that have shown a natural talent for guitar playing with little theory, not none at all. I use theory, I've had several guitar teachers, and theory has helped me a lot, admittedly, I'm just saying that there has been a few that have succeeded with little theory. I don't need to feel better about my guitar playing, I know I'm not that good.
@ThrownToTheWolves There are people who have shown a natural talent without it, but they are 1 in a million and I think its tempting for people with no knowledge of theory to be like well Hendrix didnt need it so neither do I and thus never learn...the thing is very very very very very few people have the natural ability Hendrix did, and if he had learned theory god knows how good he could have potentially been. Good though he was his playing was very limited, he had clearly figured out 1 scale
@ThrownToTheWolves and although he used it very well it does get pretty old if you just use the same notes over and over again, his sound though awesome was very limited. Compare that to someone like say Shawn Lane who had the natural talent and knew his theory....its just another level entirely, the sky is the limit.
There have been a few who succeed without it, but billions who have failed.
@ThrownToTheWolves On a side note if you listen carefully to the video Corey clearly knows that he is playing minor and major arpeggios, its the name of the particular shapes he says he is unsure of, ie whether he is doing first/second/third inversions or whatnot....with those triad arpeggios there are 3 main major shapes and 3 main minor shapes, he just did not know which of each he was doing, very different to not knowing theory, thats just a level of detail few bother with.
@ThrownToTheWolves It's funny coz I've met several guitar players with vast knowledge of music theory but they couldn't put it to practice. The great Scott Gorham from Thin Lizzy didn't know any theory but he plays great.
@Bissmarkpl theory these days is usually based around classicl things(usually) alot of guitarists dont really need much theory to be succesfull, as long as you know guitar stuff that fits your genre n play style, its all good
@Bissmarkpl Bullshit. It's the kind of thing guitar amateurs tell themselves as comfort for their ignorance. Take a guy like Satriani or Vai - their knowledge of theory is staggering, and their playing is defined by all the different scales and modes they work with. Chuck Schuldiner and Allan Holdsworth didn't know traditional theory, sure, but they had their own scales, self-made, which they followed when creating their solos and stuff. Being ignorant of theory just makes it harder for you.
@antonio610 umm... i never said that i approve being ignorant of the theory (mind you i have passed my music GCSE with an A* and goin to do the A level in it), i just stated a fact that there are many guitarists that are just amazing(like the ones u mentioned) but they dont know much theory ... am i wrong? thank you.
metallica dont sweep pick apart from 2 songs. They dont scream. So there not really like them. The crusade sounded nout like metallica unless metallica is fast solos with sweep picking and 7 string guitars?
No. In the form that they are picking, it is sweeps. Arpeggios by them self do not have that picking method, they are individually picked not SWEEPED, hence the name. OK
Sweeping is a style of picking, arpeggios are the combination of notes played in a sequential order. You can't tell a guitar player, "Play me a sweep." You can tell them to sweep an arpeggio though.
i dont think u can compere them tbh, they are both good, very good in fact but they are quite different, so in m opinion, i couldent say witch is best, but i tent to listen to more A7x than i do trivium, but saying that i like Dieing in your arms better than all the A7x songs xD, peeps have there opinions, but slagging 1 oer the other off cause u like 1 ov em beter than the other is just stupid
i think thierboth good although comparing a7x's old stuff to trivium i think makes a7x better cos back when waking the fallen was made a7x were amazing i do prefer trivium but my fave song is still unholy confessions
were? u mean theyre no longer awesome?? i think theyre the ebst band ever not to mention they have the best guitar players ever... the 3rd one for me its alexi laiho
hahah sweet man... there also one of me favs... dont have a specific order only A7X is my fav and cob bfmv kamelot and perhams eyes set to kill are my othr fav bands haha
btw.....playing a7xs stuff on a guitar is simple....a lot of the stuff syn makes up is easy and yes, its catchy at times but its simple as hell, trying to play triviums stuff is a pain in the fucking ass, not all of it, but songs like throes of peridtion, anthem, detonation, and the rising, so in terms of skill and technicallity, trivium is better by a lonog shot, and ive been playing guitar for 8 years and i still have trouble playing trivium stuff
hate to say it but trivium beats a7x in many aspects, trivium can sing/scream much better than a7xs singer, the solos are cleaner and more epic, trivium likes to experiment with sounds, thrash, metal, melodic, etc etc, a7x stays with the same sounds and it gets old after a while, also trivium got huge in only 3 years, they got famous when matt was only 19, hes 22 now, face it, trivium beats a7x in so many ways
Of course you'll deny this and back yourself up with absolutely nothing and tell me I'm a dumbass because that's what Avenged Sevenfold fans do when people call them out on how bad they suck. But that's mainstream for you.
dude, just shut the fuck up, a7x is better at writing catchy stuff, trivium is good (in reference to guitar parts) but they just aren't catchy, and dude, you saying a7x is mainstream is like me saying trivium is emo, okay bitch?
look cock sucker, i never said trivium was emo, i said you calling A7X mainstream was like me calling trivium emo, A7X isn't mainstream and trivium isn't emo, but obviously your tiny dumbass brain couldn't decipher the comment i left earlier, so i will repeat myself in a way that you can understand easier... Avenged Sevenfold is better than Trivium when it comes to writing catchy riffs and vocals etc., Trivium has good guitarists, but the guitar solos they write aren't music, they're just noise
i know this doesn't have to do with anything, but A7X is the best fucking band ever, and Synyster Gates (and even Zacky V) would blow these guys away... just saying :)
lmao k first off. you know this fight is just gonna keep going on till someone says "im not answering you anymore bitch" so why even continue. point is syn can right way better riffs and solo then these 2. whether or not syn is the best he is definitely the most creative out there. and even though zacky isnt super crazy as shredding or anything. hes very clean and never screws up. hes really good too.
hahaha...the way you can tell that trivium is better.. besides the fact that they write better music theorically and technically than avenged, is that matt and corey do shred, they dont play around with stupid scales, REALLY SLOPPY ARPEGGIOS, like synister...besides matt and corey are influenced by the best guitarist that has ever stepped in this world.. JASON BECKER. The only good thing about avenged is their drummer.. he is good ..commercially talking of course.
k well who are we too judge. why do people feel the need to insult someone based on how they play it doesnt come naturally to everyone not every can be legends. syn just wants to play. what makes you idiots think he has no right too. you might as well say the guitarist from simple plan doesnt deserve to be a guitarist because he doesnt shred.( i hate simple plan btw) but people tend to hate gates because he doesnt play the stuff you like to listen to, that doesnt mean he doenst deserve to play
What I meant to say is that Brian Haner plays fairly easy stuff that you can catch on to relatively quickly whilst Matt and Corey's stuff make me want to chop my hands off due to strain.
yeah it is hard to figure out. but gates does what he can with what he knows how to do. people say "he deserves to fucking die!". why? because hes not the best guitar player in the world? your pretty much saying all the people who dont play guitar should die too.
hes not bad he just doesnt deserved to be praised as much as he is. like hes still a good guitarist you cant say hes not. but he didnt ask all the 14 year old boys and girls to praise him over the internet. so we shouldnt be taking shots at him anyway
Technically he's bad. I mean in terms of technical skill. Can he put together a catchy tune? Yes.
What he plays doesn't take that much skill. He's very simple, hence A7x is for simple minded people. If you want complexity and technical skill, then listen to bands like Trivium, CoB, Annihilator, ect.
not even dude, and syn is way more skilled, and still, its not all about skill, the stuff syn writes and plays sounds like it came from heaven, the shit that corey and matt play sound like it came out of your asshole
Because A7x does/has done pop rock, hard rock, and punk rock (and has done 2 metalcore albums) they're better than Trivium?
Ok listen here. I respect that you like A7x for their sound and there's nothing wrong with that at all. Kudos for having your own taste.
BUT
The closest a7x will get to even getting CLOSE to where Trivium is at is saying they gave Trivium's groupies' great aunt's and uncles's dogs and cats blowjobs.
Fuck you once again and I ain't no fucking 5 year old chances are I'm probably older than you saying that I only wrote fuck you because your actually not worth saying anything else to ?? Owned ( I think so )Bitch.
ROTFLMFAO!!!!!!!! That was funny dude, gates and zacky wouldnt stand a chance against Matt and Corey, Corey could just shake his pinky and their heads would explode.
dude you have no knowladge of guitar or music, if corey just looked at syn, he would turn to dust, corey can't do shit and neither can matt, a7x is way way way better by fucking far, so shut your ass up
You obviously have no KNOWLEDGE (learn how to spell dumbass) of guitar or music, listen to coreys sweeping, his far cleaner than that dumbass gates. Coreys left testicle is better at guitar than gates.
its minor.......well......judging from what ive seen herman li call the actual major shape which is like..... e -----------12h7 b ---------13 g -------14 d -----14 a 12h15 and back down......like the sweeps at the end of "anthem we are the fire" by trivium hope the crappy tab came out XD the tab in th description is the minor shapes......as far as i know if im wrong sum1 plz correct me XD
Its encouraging to hear the way they play to be honest cause it seems i play all the same stuff as them....exercises wise and i love trivium so i couldnt be happier

MetalguitarlessonsUK 11 months ago
@ThrownToTheWolves and although he used it very well it does get pretty old if you just use the same notes over and over again, his sound though awesome was very limited. Compare that to someone like say Shawn Lane who had the natural talent and knew his theory....its just another level entirely, the sky is the limit.
There have been a few who succeed without it, but billions who have failed.
MetalguitarlessonsUK 11 months ago
@ThrownToTheWolves On a side note if you listen carefully to the video Corey clearly knows that he is playing minor and major arpeggios, its the name of the particular shapes he says he is unsure of, ie whether he is doing first/second/third inversions or whatnot....with those triad arpeggios there are 3 main major shapes and 3 main minor shapes, he just did not know which of each he was doing, very different to not knowing theory, thats just a level of detail few bother with.

@ThrownToTheWolves oh i read that wrong sorry.
0ZAZU 8 months ago
@ThrownToTheWolves It's funny coz I've met several guitar players with vast knowledge of music theory but they couldn't put it to practice. The great Scott Gorham from Thin Lizzy didn't know any theory but he plays great.
OperationEndGame 8 months ago
@ThrownToTheWolves agree. Hendrix dont know theory :)
blackmetalrockdeath 7 months ago
@blackmetalrockdeath actually Hendrix does know music theory!
georgemnrs 7 months ago
@ThrownToTheWolves I use that same style of sweep arpegios. I was wondering where I got them from Corey FTW!
TheSchafer78 6 months ago
100% agree. "oh i can play this thing. its a basic arpeggio but i have no clue what its called but i can play it so thats all that matters."

true :P
DemonEyesDara 1 year ago
@Bissmarkpl theory these days is usually based around classicl things(usually) alot of guitarists dont really need much theory to be succesfull, as long as you know guitar stuff that fits your genre n play style, its all good
TheWardogNZ 1 year ago
@Bissmarkpl They aren't great as in technique if that's what you are saying.
MrKylederp 1 year ago
It's also amusing how some people know theory but can't play for shit.
Cataclysm135 1 year ago
@Bissmarkpl Bullshit. It's the kind of thing guitar amateurs tell themselves as comfort for their ignorance. Take a guy like Satriani or Vai - their knowledge of theory is staggering, and their playing is defined by all the different scales and modes they work with. Chuck Schuldiner and Allan Holdsworth didn't know traditional theory, sure, but they had their own scales, self-made, which they followed when creating their solos and stuff. Being ignorant of theory just makes it harder for you.
antonio610 1 year ago
@antonio610 umm... i never said that i approve being ignorant of the theory (mind you i have passed my music GCSE with an A* and goin to do the A level in it), i just stated a fact that there are many guitarists that are just amazing(like the ones u mentioned) but they dont know much theory ... am i wrong? thank you.
Bissmarkpl 1 year ago
@Bissmarkpl No. "Great guitarists know so little theory", that is your statement up there. Don't backtrack.
antonio610 1 year ago
@antonio610 ... dude... can you just quickly explain me how the hell am i backtracking if i pretty much copied what i put in the previous post?

wow your smart, arpeggios dont have to be swept, there are string skippin arpeggios you know
WheatDream 2 years ago
oh nvm i though u meant that sweep picking and arpeggiating are the same exact thing
grilledsteez 2 years ago
arpeggio is each separate note of a chord. sweep is the technique he uses to play them.

theyre called sweeps lol
wingeddemon5807 2 years ago
That is the informal name, they are called arpeggios.
xPLDxPunisher 2 years ago 6
No. In the form that they are picking, it is sweeps. Arpeggios by them self do not have that picking method, they are individually picked not SWEEPED, hence the name. OK
wingeddemon5807 2 years ago
Sweeping is a style of picking, arpeggios are the combination of notes played in a sequential order. You can't tell a guitar player, "Play me a sweep." You can tell them to sweep an arpeggio though.
herchimer 2 years ago
Dont just learn a shape, learn arpeggio tonality rather than just playing a shape.
Visualundeath 2 years ago 2
i dont think u can compere them tbh, they are both good, very good in fact but they are quite different, so in m opinion, i couldent say witch is best, but i tent to listen to more A7x than i do trivium, but saying that i like Dieing in your arms better than all the A7x songs xD, peeps have there opinions, but slagging 1 oer the other off cause u like 1 ov em beter than the other is just stupid
Redkill11 2 years ago
i think thierboth good although comparing a7x's old stuff to trivium i think makes a7x better cos back when waking the fallen was made a7x were amazing i do prefer trivium but my fave song is still unholy confessions

avenged sevenfold is good, and i loved them, but now i like trivium a bit better.
i respect a7x and all, but my hearts on trivium now, cuz all i do now is listen to them
slakker321 3 years ago
btw.....playing a7xs stuff on a guitar is simple....a lot of the stuff syn makes up is easy and yes, its catchy at times but its simple as hell, trying to play triviums stuff is a pain in the fucking ass, not all of it, but songs like throes of peridtion, anthem, detonation, and the rising, so in terms of skill and technicallity, trivium is better by a lonog shot, and ive been playing guitar for 8 years and i still have trouble playing trivium stuff
vampyricmantra63 3 years ago 2
hate to say it but trivium beats a7x in many aspects, trivium can sing/scream much better than a7xs singer, the solos are cleaner and more epic, trivium likes to experiment with sounds, thrash, metal, melodic, etc etc, a7x stays with the same sounds and it gets old after a while, also trivium got huge in only 3 years, they got famous when matt was only 19, hes 22 now, face it, trivium beats a7x in so many ways
vampyricmantra63 3 years ago
why does everyone ARGUE.

cobraman90 2 years ago
Of course you'll deny this and back yourself up with absolutely nothing and tell me I'm a dumbass because that's what Avenged Sevenfold fans do when people call them out on how bad they suck. But that's mainstream for you.
RedShogun13 3 years ago
dude, just shut the fuck up, a7x is better at writing catchy stuff, trivium is good (in reference to guitar parts) but they just aren't catchy, and dude, you saying a7x is mainstream is like me saying trivium is emo, okay bitch?
fleaandstump 3 years ago
lol
typical a7x fan
All you can do is call other bands emo and say 'a7X iZ tEh gOdLy!!111"
stfu
gtfo
not everybody likes radio pop rock. So fuck off "bitch"
RedShogun13 3 years ago 2
look cock sucker, i never said trivium was emo, i said you calling A7X mainstream was like me calling trivium emo, A7X isn't mainstream and trivium isn't emo, but obviously your tiny dumbass brain couldn't decipher the comment i left earlier, so i will repeat myself in a way that you can understand easier... Avenged Sevenfold is better than Trivium when it comes to writing catchy riffs and vocals etc., Trivium has good guitarists, but the guitar solos they write aren't music, they're just noise
fleaandstump 3 years ago
Like I said, typical.

i know this doesn't have to do with anything, but A7X is the best fucking band ever, and Synyster Gates (and even Zacky V) would blow these guys away... just saying :)
fleaandstump 3 years ago
Zacky would not do shit to Cory and Matt. gates...hmmm..Dunno about that.
HellRend3r 3 years ago
wow you should be a comedian, cuz your good at jokes... haha, good on man
fleaandstump 3 years ago
lmao k first off. you know this fight is just gonna keep going on till someone says "im not answering you anymore bitch" so why even continue. point is syn can right way better riffs and solo then these 2. whether or not syn is the best he is definitely the most creative out there. and even though zacky isnt super crazy as shredding or anything. hes very clean and never screws up. hes really good too.
basementlegends 3 years ago
hahaha...the way you can tell that trivium is better.. besides the fact that they write better music theorically and technically than avenged, is that matt and corey do shred, they dont play around with stupid scales, REALLY SLOPPY ARPEGGIOS, like synister...besides matt and corey are influenced by the best guitarist that has ever stepped in this world.. JASON BECKER. The only good thing about avenged is their drummer.. he is good ..commercially talking of course.
TheShredminator 3 years ago
trivium is not better than avenged. and you cant judge gates on that one video
basementlegends 3 years ago
But you can judge him on every piece of shit he's ever played.
Because he plays like shit. Sloppy as hell and never knows wtf he's doing. The Walk solo gives him trouble LOL.
RedShogun13 3 years ago
k well who are we too judge. why do people feel the need to insult someone based on how they play it doesnt come naturally to everyone not every can be legends. syn just wants to play. what makes you idiots think he has no right too. you might as well say the guitarist from simple plan doesnt deserve to be a guitarist because he doesnt shred.( i hate simple plan btw) but people tend to hate gates because he doesnt play the stuff you like to listen to, that doesnt mean he doenst deserve to play
basementlegends 3 years ago
I see you're point.
What I meant to say is that Brian Haner plays fairly easy stuff that you can catch on to relatively quickly whilst Matt and Corey's stuff make me want to chop my hands off due to strain.
RedShogun13 3 years ago
yeah it is hard to figure out. but gates does what he can with what he knows how to do. people say "he deserves to fucking die!". why? because hes not the best guitar player in the world? your pretty much saying all the people who dont play guitar should die too.
basementlegends 3 years ago
As long as people realize that he's a bad guitar player in terms of what he can do, I got no problems lol.
I just hate it when people say "GATES CAN TAKE *insert name of great guitar player* NO PROBLEM"
or
"SYN IS THE BEST GUITARIZZZT IN TEH WORLDZ!!!"
That shit makes me laugh...and than pisses me off because there are people in this world that are that dillusional
RedShogun13 3 years ago
hes not bad he just doesnt deserved to be praised as much as he is. like hes still a good guitarist you cant say hes not. but he didnt ask all the 14 year old boys and girls to praise him over the internet. so we shouldnt be taking shots at him anyway
basementlegends 3 years ago
Technically he's bad. I mean in terms of technical skill. Can he put together a catchy tune? Yes.
What he plays doesn't take that much skill. He's very simple, hence A7x is for simple minded people. If you want complexity and technical skill, then listen to bands like Trivium, CoB, Annihilator, ect.
RedShogun13 3 years ago
bodom is amazing. although i saw them at gigantour. and i gotta say. alexis playing live was god awful.
basementlegends 3 years ago
not even dude, and syn is way more skilled, and still, its not all about skill, the stuff syn writes and plays sounds like it came from heaven, the shit that corey and matt play sound like it came out of your asshole
fleaandstump 3 years ago
Typical A7x fan.
Please gtfo of the internet and stay off.
Haner can't even touch anything that Matt and/or Corey has done.
He has the skill of a pop rock guitarist. Haner's stuff sounds like a 15 year old kid with maybe 1 year of experience wrote it.
Matt and/or Corey shouldn't be mentioned in the same sentence as Brian Haner unless it also includes the words "Haner sucks compared to", ect.
RedShogun13 3 years ago
This has been flagged as spam show
they cover more ground then trivium tho
i like both bands tho, but a7x is better
xEXSEIGEx 3 years ago
Because A7x does/has done pop rock, hard rock, and punk rock (and has done 2 metalcore albums) they're better than Trivium?
Ok listen here. I respect that you like A7x for their sound and there's nothing wrong with that at all. Kudos for having your own taste.
BUT
The closest a7x will get to even getting CLOSE to where Trivium is at is saying they gave Trivium's groupies' great aunt's and uncles's dogs and cats blowjobs.
And that is the truth.

fleaandstump 3 years ago
You obviously have no KNOWLEDGE (learn how to spell dumbass) of guitar or music, listen to coreys sweeping, his far cleaner than that dumbass gates. Coreys left testicle is better at guitar than gates.
