  • wat zal ik zegge grand shalom leo

  • This makes you understand why Israël should exist

  • The singer is really the Jews... to be Jew is to suffer all life... Jews are great will be great

  • Words can not express my admiration to this great singer, my only sad and disadvantage and misfortune that I was not able to meet him personally. R.I.P. Leo Fuld

  • thanks for the most lovely songs ever

  • Jews are special because their suffering has not come to an end.... I love Jews

Music by Oscar Strock. Words by S. Kortnayer, a Yiddish actor who perished in Warsaw Ghetto.

  • Proud he whas from my town Rotterdam.

  • Most deeply touched me, even I am not Jew. (But my late wife was and my kids are.)

  • Bedankt !

  • Bedankt ! ( Thank You ! )

  • Always reminds me to my beloved late Jewish wife. Vesna, God bless you, wherever you are.

  • wunderschön,da werden erinnerungen wach. Amsterdam 1966-1967

  • when I was a little kid, my mother would sing this song to me, to sooth me, and help me go to sleep. Some times i could see tears in her eyes. It's a sad song, but I also draw strengh from it: we should never be in this situation, where there is nowhere to go! Never Again! AM ISRAEL CHAI!

  • He sang this after WWII and lost all of his family except for one sister in the Holocaust.

  • @Azoicum

    nergens voor nodig te vloeken

  • This fine song could be an anthem for all refugees today.

  • my dad sang this to me when i was a little girl , he died when i was eight still miss him even now at 70 yrs old also miss mum who i was lucky enough to have her around untill she was 89 i can still hear him telling me to make up my mind

  • I wish I could have met him and give him a great big hug

  • this song is so sad that it brings shivers to my body but at least there's a happy ending to this song.

  • soooooooooooo sad it makes me cry

  • He was born in Rotterdam. At 0.30 you can see Rotterdam burning. The nazis warned they would destroy Amsterdam, the hague and Utrecht aswell if the Dutch did not surrender.

  • i love this song, because of what it truly means.....

  • me gustó la song... I'm sad

    no olvido!!!

  • i used to listen to this when i was a child at home. i presume that it talks about post-holocaust jewish emigration to palestine. wonderful memories of leo and of course my parents zal.

  • He speaks of pre-holocaust when no country would let any Jews in .

  • @lkarabinas He sang this after the holocaust when the Jews still didn't have a country ,and after all they'd been through, Britain wouldn't let them into what was then still Palestine.

  • beautifull video and heartbreaking music
