Close your eyes and imagine this is the lament of an ancient vampire. The deep ache of centuries of alienation. All warmth has passed from memory, but the black heart of longing still remains.
I like to blast this on my stereo when my neighbors are being noisy... I can just imagine the "WTF"?, perplexed look on their faces. After this song and 'Dreams Made Flesh' they shut up.
What an incredibly beautiful song. I'm a big fan of DCD.. and had never heard this one, or saw her sing like this.
This is breathtaking. I will NEVER forgive myself having missed them when they came to Mexico. By far, the most spellbinding, enchanting and breathtaking voice I have heard.
ha.. i had a dream of rob lowe last night in a movie made by me. in it he was decapitated and used as bait and i laughed 'we only used rob for his famous head'...
Just curious, but what is with the podium? Is she "preaching" or something thru her music? It looks kind of "cult-ish". Dont get me wrong...I LOVE IT!!! Just curious is all....
Indeed it is a pedestal for the instrument that it usually use for presentations, and the scenery is something oriental they used to cover these tissues.
Amazing. I was moved beyond words when I saw/heard this played the first time in London last Sunday. There is lament and forgiveness here; mourning and release.
Is this a DVD? I want it.

a great singer relying on the power of her voice and her music, not on gimmicks

She puts most opera singers to shame. By a long shot. CERTAINLY in terms of emotion, and I would say in terms of technical ability too.

This song is from the Salem's Lot soundtrack (song by Lisa Gerrard and Patrick Cassidy).

One great thing about DCD concerts is that everyone shuts up and listens-they are too spellbound to talk.

Is this song named after Stephen King's novel by any chance? Was this written for the Salem's Lot remake with Rob Lowe?

she's not preaching, it is just somehting she used for her instrument called yang ch'in, look at her 2007 videos, she don't use it anymore.
musicaeternal 4 years ago
why doesnt she use that instrument anymore, i love that sound!!
SMIGSMITH 4 years ago
Sorry, i mean that it seems that she didn't use it during her last tour in europe, happy xmas :)
musicaeternal 4 years ago
then why using that pedestal thing?
kehyot 4 years ago
She didn't need the pedestal in 2007 because the didn't use the yang ch'in.
She did need it for this tour in 2005 with Dead Can Dance, because she did use the yang ch'in.
Is that clear? :)
