After much agony over whether to buy these or spend more on the Bowflex units, I went with these, considering the price was WAY better (with stand included, unlike Bowflex who charges 350 for the weights and another 150 for the stand), and these seemed to be less bulky like I had heard and later witnessed was an issue with the Bowflex. @mxracer3651 funny cus mine and my friends towers have held up around 3 months just fine, and replying back to my statment about the distance, "actually matters since the rubber band strips inside the tower 200's bands break down very fast". its clear that yours broke down fast becuase you wee trying to stretch the bands to far when steping out b4 starting the exercise.
@mxracer3651 the only real problem with the tower is when doin alot of fast paced reps the pins inside the plastic reels heat up and melt into the reel. so please think b4 you coment back and try using ur equipment properly
So if I'm correct the X-Factor and Tower 200 are basically the same thing except they have different bands and that the Tower 200 is better because of its resistance?
Ive been using mine for about 5 months and the only problem was a piece broke off of the 35 pound band so i gottta use the 40 or the 25, i have an extra 40 pound cord but im waiting till i need the extra resistance but the tower 200 is the bomb bro i recommend it just becareful wen ur finished wit a rep not to let the cord fly back.Ive been using it alot more and i see alot of improvment for my chest shoulders back llegs and my veins are popping out more
I probably couldn't use that extra range anyway because my god damn closet's in the way a few feet from the door. oh and I'm a shorty so would I benefit from the adjustable thing for the tower? also do you think you could do a review on the dvds too?
@myshoescramp i did watch both dvds and the tower dvds seemed to me not as long or helpful. as far as height the handles hang down off a standard door about 5' -6" off the ground... not sure if the tower lowering would help but once the x- factors are grabbed they will stretch fairly easy to your height..
The resistance difference is because you're standing too close. Thera-bands work on percentage of doubling so generally, you need to be a few feet away to actually hit the weight ratio it's set to simulate.
Here's something I saw on another video for the X-Factor. Maybe it will work on the Tower 200, too.
Sometimes it is nice to do an exercise from a middle position instead of just from the top or bottom position. On this other video, they used a climber's ring to connect the top and bottom cables and then added the handle. Thus, the handle was now positioned midway between the top and bottom.
Wow, you decided to go with the cheaper costing X-Factor. I kind of thought that the more expensive Tower 200 might be the better equipment.
The other thing that surprised me was the limited distance you had with the Tower 200. On their promotional video the guys exercising seem to stretch way far away from the door okay.
I was looking at some reviews on Amazon. The Tower 200 seemed to get much more favorable reviews than the X-Factor. It is interesting to get all these opinions.
@STBRetired1 yea my tower stretched far from the door too. Right before the bungie chords on if freyed and the cables snapped off putting a hole in my door.. LOL The x-factors have already held up twice as long and nothing is wrong yet... they stretch alot better and dont hurt when they touch your arms/legs cause of the neopreme type material they are made of... try rubbing a bungie chord up and down your elbows or arms or legs and thats what it feels like with the tower on long extensions
@Nikesports101 the x- factor is quite a bit cheaper.. i got mine thru walmarts site to store on there site.. it was 100.00 .. it ships free to the store closest to you cause they only carry it on the site not in stores... Ithink ive used the word "store" enough now.. lol but also the tower was more like 200 + dollars and not even woth the price... it does function but it wont hold up as long...
4 of the plastic rings on the bottom of the Tower 200 cables broke on me in about 100 uses. Why? Because the metal clips break the plastic rings you attach them too.
Did anybody else have a problem with the x-factor when it cam to fitting on a door? I went through every door in my house and the x-factor didnt sit comfortably on ANY of them due a 1/8 inch lack of clearance. I was FURIOUS. i was at the store and i looked at both the tower and the x-factor and of course I went with the x-factor because it had more range of motion and it was almost 50$ cheaper...but the shit didnt hook up right. BULLSHIT.
@sprackles mine was kind of like that. I can make some shims for the back of your doors if you give me the thickness .. The shims go on the back of each corner of the x- factor. That raises each piece more level and makes the the part that attaches thinner at the top and bottom where it is hitting the door frame so there is more clearance... Let me know I can make them and ship them to you for probably less than 10$ and it's still a better machine than the tower...
I just got home with the X-Factor after spending about 1/2 hour deciding which way to go. It was $80 less than the Tower and the box felt much heavier than the Tower box - so I figured it'd be more durable. I'm glad I got it. Just finished the Explosion workout followed by the Abs workout. I hope it lasts long and that my door frame doesn't come flying apart! ;-)
id say its a touch choice between em. with the tower 2 replacement bands+pulley only cost $19.95 whereas the x factors cost $49.00. same idea with the bar accessory. the tower 200 bar accessory costs $19.95 and the x factors (which is much uglier than the towers) costs $49.00. So the x factor almost winds up costing as much as the tower if u buy all the accessories with each machine. and if something breaks the tower 200 replacements cost half as much as the x factors.
@CallOfDutySnipez na the x- factors is a lifetime warranty against breakage... ITS FREEE... i exchanged mine when the pulleys were wobbley, totally free replacement... good service..
@mxracer3651 Oh really? That's sick. So how's the build quality between the two?like which one wins in frame quality, pulley quality, tension band quality? Thanks
@mxracer3651 I would also like to add that the life time warranty is ONLY for people who bought it online. If you bought it in store, then it the 90 days. Unless you get the stores warranty.
@Orphious707 They both have good resistance when you double the bands .. But they are also great for cardio too.. depends on how much you stick with it...
hey guys i have had a tower 200 for less then a week. just got it last thursday. and this morning the hook that you clip on to the weight broke off. so i can tell you that reliability is not that good for the tower 200.
@criminalcontent17 Thats what happened to mine also. The x- factors is a little thicker in that area and the tension is smoother when pulled so that is a lot less likely to happen with it. That's why I stuck with the x- factor... So far so good....
@labdawgz hey you shulda got the tower 200 do to tha fact that the tower has a lifetime warranty and the x factor only has a 90 warrant i just got off the fone with reps foor tha xfactor
lol quit trying to decide what to do and just workout. trying to figure out which one is easier lol. they both have resistance, go with the tower 200 in the end ull want more resistance as u build ur tolerance. this guy doesnt workout he analizes lol.
@RandomHero1391 I do analize but iam glad I did cause the tower snapped and put a hole in
my door and shattered the pulley too. so yea i kept the x-factor.. Not that the tower won't work but I think it has a design destined to fail way quicker than the x- factor... Even the bands started coiling up and knotting inside on the tower since they are just rubberbands inside like a regular bungy chord..
Sorry guys i read your comments have just been busy lately.. GONZOx3 is right the x factor was my choice. the tower does show wear at a much faster rate and the plastic composite material (Loops) are very brittle. When clipping and unclipping on the tower i had gouges and wear on the loops in only a week or so.. the x factor shows no gouges or scratches on the loops after clipping to them many times... Sorry for the late response....
It seems Racer is MIA. I'll pass along some information. He ended up keeping the X factor. One of the eyelets on the Tower 200 broke while he was working out and chord snapped back. It ended up messing up part of his door. He didn't say he was hurt or anything. He said he was going to make a video about it, but that was about a month ago. Not to bash on the Tower 200, but I have read similiar posts on the internet about the eyelets breaking. I'm sure they were isolated incidents though.
I prefer the tower 200 i've recently used both the x factor upgrades to 360 and tower 200 upgrades to 240 but the tower 200 seems more compacted so go with the tower 200
I think you have a 1st gen X factor. Those had less resistance than the newer 2nd gen X factors. It seems that everyone who's making a comparison between the X factor and the Tower 200 is using a 1st gen X factor, which in my opinion doesn't represent an accurate comparison between the two products. You should see what you can do about getting a replacement 2nd gen X factor. Also, I take it by compacted you mean less range of motion? They seem take take up the same amount of space on the door.
I have never tried toe x factor but my husband just got the tower 200 and i did the 11 minute workout and I gotta say I was impressed. I have tried other stuff but this is the first time i had felt like i had really gotten a workout since basic training. I liked it.
Thats not 100% but the first batch of the x-factors were loud and had zero resistance so a store might still have bad stock as opposed to direct from the manufacturer.
I own the Tower 200 and I wanted to ask you guys what the best way to BUILD mass and muscle using this machine would be. I own some decent protein/whey supplements and drinks, but as far as the workouts themselves, are there any regimens or routines specifically geared towards BUILDING mass and increasing overall size? Any input would help. Thanks!
If you're a small size person who has the metabolism of a hummingbird you will need to ingest LOTS of calories to build bulk...NOT EMPTY CALORIES!!
lower reps/higher weight/compound exercises...not too much cardio either but make sure you're still get some cardio because its great for you and last but not least...REST REST REST
@chrisjohnson5552 If you really wanna add mass you need some free weights...i mean the tower is nice but i still hit the bench and squat rack to add that mass
Although brief. This is a good review of both products. Thanks, you helped make up my mind. Tower 200 also doesn't seem to make as much noise. It's worth the extra cost I would say.
There are a thousand ways to reach your health and fitness goals. That's evident by the millions of people who are fit and healthy. Do they all follow the exact same plan? No. But what does remain the same are the underlying principles. Understand these and how to put them to use, and you will make good progress. And it's not just about exercising, it's about nutrition, lifestyle, etc. And no single product will give you all of that. Understand where this fits into your program and go for it.
Keep both the tower 200 and X-factor. Because one day either the tower 200 bands or x-factor bands will tear or diminish in quality, thus you can use a spare.
You forgot to mention that the x factor has a higher resistance than the tower 200. And that the x factor is upgradeable whereas the tower 200 stays with its designed max resistance. Plus the tower 200 is 175 dollars. The x factor is 99 dollars minus shipping and handling. Tops, the x factor can't be more than 130 dollars total. Still considerably cheaper than tower 200.
to be honest, I can't answer that because I don't have the x factor. all I can tell you is what i'm exoeriencing using the tower 200. as far as diminishing in quality or wear and tear, the tower 200 has a lifetime warranty so yu can get a new one if it malfunctions.
Both machines are upgradeable. Both machines have their pros and cons. The lifetime warranty for the tower 200 only applies to the frame and not the bands, pulleys, or anything else. The X factor apparently comes with a lifetime warranty but according to the actual warranty card and customer service, it's only a 90 day warranty. But it does cover everything. "Better" is a very subjective term. For some this means resistance, for others this mean durability, versatility, quality, and value.
you do the math of how many reps I'm doing for the just one set and tomorrow I'm strating to do this with two of the three bands connected. when I can do ot three.... all i got to say is..... BANG!!! get the tower 200. it's an incredible supplement to your workout aresenal. I'm excited to see what's going to happen when I start lifting again with my fight weight-to nulify and foudate my overall power with my bodyweight- BANG!!! GoD BLESS!!
as far as my workout, I use the bar complex concept with the tower 200 along with a calesthenic and a sumo exercise. here's what i do on M-W-F. on my tower 200 days, I also go to the gym and do warrior cardio: 1.squats 2.curls 3.shoulder press 4.tricep pressdowns 5. reverse curls 6.stiff-legged deadlifts 7.pulley rows 8.upright rows 9.power shrugs 10. demons-tower 200 exercise 11. shikos-sumo drill 12. push-ups(with the perfect push-up) I do all these as one set for 3x10-20 reps.
using the tower 200 combined with calesthenics, corework, and warrior cardio has skyrocketed my muscular endurance and in two out of the three weeks, i've dropped 15 pounds-i'm cutting weight to fight in the 253 and below category. i'm going to first fight @ 225 then cut down to 200 to see where I'm strongest in sumo. I say add tower 200 to your workout regimen-especially for muscular endurance- and I guarantee you will experience a difference. but you have to put in the work. GoD BLESS!!
I have the tower 200 and a gym membership. I'm currently training in sumo wrestling-that's right sumo. there are different weight classes in sumo-and my wrestling has excelled using the tower 200. alot of people don't realize that weight training and resistance training are two different things. before tower 200, I could bench 225 over 30 times and I couldn't beat my sumo coach in one single match. i've been using the tower 200 for three weeks and within 3 weeks, i've beaten my coach 4 times.
listen . if you guys want to get in shape and stay that way... instead of buying crap like this ,, spend the money on personal training . there are gyms out their that will show you how to eat and work out based on what ever goal you have .. this is not going to get you to ur goals
Im not a personal trainer dont have the time nor the patience to train people like urself that think a tower 200 can make you look like the guy on the infomercial .. how much is this thing 200 bucks? join a gym and wise up
i respect your opinion, but everybody is diiferent. you don't have to have a gym membership or a tower 200 to get ripped. you don't need anything. you can do calethenics corework, and cardio and you can get the same results. there is no magic formula. it's simple. discipline, patience, and hardwork bottom line. i don't need a tower 200,but i use it as a supplementation and i do my own workout with it. there is nothing wrong using equipment-especially me because it's sports-specific.
if you mean hiring a personal trainer you are completely out of your mind. However, I have been deciding what to buy for over 2 years and i came o the conclusion that PERSONAL workouts work the best. PUSHUPS, SITUPS, A FEW DUMBELLS and people will be amazed with results.. I agree, do not spend your money on this crap, better yet don't spend your MONEY ON ANYTHING except some dumbells and WHEY PROTEIN! you are set to go!!! do your own workouts in your own home forget all this marketing....
I just got the tower 200 and i'm really impressed with it. Havent tried the x-factor but many are claiming it is noisy and less resitance. Are you guys saying they have fixed these issues? The price isnt too bad with the Xfactor.
It seems like Weider is now on their third batch of X factors. There was a delay in shipping because they were making changes. What those new changes are, I don't know. But those issues you mentioned were fixed back in the second batch. It seem like the tower has more resistance, but at a price. I hooked up an extra set of 60lb bands in place of the 15lb bands and it definitely has more resistance. With that, the resistance is in 30lb increments, instead of 15, which can be a problem for some.
Quick question buddy. I just got this same machine. I was thkinking cause the setup in my room about setting up the pull up bar the other way..... towards the dip handles. do you think that would work? thanks..
Not sure what you mean pull up bar? dip handles.. You can put either of these on Both sides of a door and they will still work. Just make sure that the door is shut all the way to prevent opening when its attached to the outside of the door. Let me know if that answers it. or if you mean something else... Iam also using a actual pullup bar in the same doorframe too... For chin ups..
I don't mean to spam, but this is something you guys should know. This comparison is not 100% accurate, and it's nothing that he did wrong. Unfortunately, a few of the X factors from the first batch may have had some problems. I can tell he has a bad one from the noises the pulleys make. I recently received my new X factor and there is a major difference. It's quiet and has a good amount of more resistance. I imagine now that the comparison would be much closer in terms of resistance.
isnt it only 14.95? i ordered things form the internet before- didnt check the fine print and got charged for other things later on- i read theirs and cant find the hidden charges except the auto sub. which is an easy fix- so is it legit to order from the site- and why did u pay so much?-Rachel
It's 100$ i got mine through Walmarts Site to store purchase , no shipping and you will get it pretty quick. that is the cheapest way to get it... they notify you when its at the store you choose closest too you...
I can only speak for the X factor. The short answer is no. But it's a bit more complicated than that. Because of the way the bands work, you don't need an equivalent resistance to get an equivalent workout. You can use a band that feels lighter, but after 10 reps it will feel like you curled a lot heavier weight. Look up accommodating resistance to see what I'm talking about. From what I understand, the tower is made of bungee and I'm not sure if the same principles apply in the same way.
i hung real weights on the numbered bands the 15 lb. band came down over half way with an 8 lb. weight ... The 30 comes down pretty far with a 20 lb. weight .. I would say each band is only at its rated weight when pulled 3/4 the way to the floor...
Quick question buddy. I just got this same machine. I was thkinking cause the setup in my room about setting up the pull up bar the other way..... towards the dip handles. do you think that would work? thanks..
lol i totally forgot to think about combining all three cords to make the resistance on my tower 200 go past 40, 20, 10 etc.. Well better late then never... So far loving my tower 200.
Now that I'm starting to shoot my review, I'm kinda wishing I would have gone with my original plan. I was going to wait until I got the X factor, then I was going to go to Sears and buy the Tower. But when I got the X factor I was so impressed, not to mention I didn't want to spend more money, especially when I thought the X factor was good enough. Now I feel my review won't be as good. Also, to be honest, I'm pretty weak. So for right now, the X factor has enough resistance for me.
@spartacus5518 It does look like it. But for the same price, I can order a set of 60 lb bands. I really do think that if I were to add another set, it would really have more resistance. Even if I were to return one, I don't exactly have the income. And I would only really do it for review purpose, and like I said, I'm not even sure if it's worth the hassle. Right now, I am pretty satisfied with the X factor. The range of motion is fun.
i got the tower 200, 2 weeks ago, beening use it 5 times a week, gives me a good burn and a good workout. judging from this video i made the right choice in buying the tower i need more resistance.
ive owned both i returned the X-Factor and chose to keep the Tower. Even thought the X-Factor does have a much greater range of motion i thought the Tower gave me a nigger workout, the only trick was that in the box it says that for example the white chord has only 10lbs resistance but that is not true. if u stretch it to full extent it offers around 50lbs so i prefer the Tower. but its exactly like u said, it deepends on if u want a hard muscle workout or and easy endurance workout
Reading this comment I gonna get that Tower 200. I want that African American Workout! If this machine makes me become a Big Black guy I'm all for it! Hopefully I can become a Well Hung guy too. Thanks for the comment I needed it to motivate me!
Good video. You should post this as a response to the main X factor video so that people can see it. It's like you said, if you want more range of motion, go with the X factor. If you want more resistance, go with the Tower. I guess you can't have both. I had to slightly modify my door, but I think it was worth it. They do sell the the bands for the Tower. A set of 40 lbs cords cost $20 + S&H. But for the same price as the Tower, you can get the X factor with an extra pair of 60 lbs bands.

BULLSHIT.
sprackles 1 year ago
@sprackles mine was kind of like that. I can make some shims for the back of your doors if you give me the thickness .. The shims go on the back of each corner of the x- factor. That raises each piece more level and makes the the part that attaches thinner at the top and bottom where it is hitting the door frame so there is more clearance... Let me know I can make them and ship them to you for probably less than 10$ and it's still a better machine than the tower...
mxracer3651 1 year ago
@mxracer3651 I'm interested in the shims, please check your youtube mail :) Thank you

I hope it lasts long and that my door frame doesn't come flying apart! ;-)
BreezyHawk 1 year ago
id say its a touch choice between em. with the tower 2 replacement bands+pulley only cost $19.95 whereas the x factors cost $49.00. same idea with the bar accessory. the tower 200 bar accessory costs $19.95 and the x factors (which is much uglier than the towers) costs $49.00. So the x factor almost winds up costing as much as the tower if u buy all the accessories with each machine. and if something breaks the tower 200 replacements cost half as much as the x factors.
CallOfDutySnipez 1 year ago
@CallOfDutySnipez na the x- factors is a lifetime warranty against breakage... ITS FREEE... i exchanged mine when the pulleys were wobbley, totally free replacement... good service..

hey guys i have had a tower 200 for less then a week. just got it last thursday. and this morning the hook that you clip on to the weight broke off. so i can tell you that reliability is not that good for the tower 200.
criminalcontent17 1 year ago
@criminalcontent17 Thats what happened to mine also. The x- factors is a little thicker in that area and the tension is smoother when pulled so that is a lot less likely to happen with it. That's why I stuck with the x- factor... So far so good....

lol quit trying to decide what to do and just workout. trying to figure out which one is easier lol. they both have resistance, go with the tower 200 in the end ull want more resistance as u build ur tolerance. this guy doesnt workout he analizes lol.
RandomHero1391 1 year ago

Sorry for the late response....
mxracer3651 1 year ago

ISOMAN7X 1 year ago
I think you have a 1st gen X factor. Those had less resistance than the newer 2nd gen X factors. It seems that everyone who's making a comparison between the X factor and the Tower 200 is using a 1st gen X factor, which in my opinion doesn't represent an accurate comparison between the two products. You should see what you can do about getting a replacement 2nd gen X factor. Also, I take it by compacted you mean less range of motion? They seem take take up the same amount of space on the door.

15boyltz 1 year ago
@15boyltz ...

Thanks!
chrisjohnson5552 2 years ago
@chrisjohnson5552
Mass has to do with reps/weight/nutrition/cardio
If you're a small size person who has the metabolism of a hummingbird you will need to ingest LOTS of calories to build bulk...NOT EMPTY CALORIES!!
lower reps/higher weight/compound exercises...not too much cardio either but make sure you're still get some cardio because its great for you and last but not least...REST REST REST
Madhatter24463 2 years ago
@chrisjohnson5552 If you really wanna add mass you need some free weights...i mean the tower is nice but i still hit the bench and squat rack to add that mass
k1lladelph1a 2 years ago
I have to say I bought the X-factor and its great as well.
I am a 225 lb former athlete who can put it through some paces but am by no means in great shape.
The first run of the X-Factors were bad...they were loud and had zero tension on the bands.
This has been fixed, I will try to get a video made to demonstrate
My best friend bought an X-factor, took it back because of stated probs, tried mine out, and has since went back and bought the "fixed version"
*beware when buying!!!!

Although brief. This is a good review of both products. Thanks, you helped make up my mind. Tower 200 also doesn't seem to make as much noise. It's worth the extra cost I would say.
Booyah2020 2 years ago
There are a thousand ways to reach your health and fitness goals. That's evident by the millions of people who are fit and healthy. Do they all follow the exact same plan? No. But what does remain the same are the underlying principles. Understand these and how to put them to use, and you will make good progress. And it's not just about exercising, it's about nutrition, lifestyle, etc. And no single product will give you all of that. Understand where this fits into your program and go for it.

dang it!! I keep on making typing errors. I meant experiencing.
tyrek12345 2 years ago
@mxracer3651
Keep both the tower 200 and X-factor. Because one day either the tower 200 bands or x-factor bands will tear or diminish in quality, thus you can use a spare.
CaptZor 2 years ago
You forgot to mention that the x factor has a higher resistance than the tower 200. And that the x factor is upgradeable whereas the tower 200 stays with its designed max resistance. Plus the tower 200 is 175 dollars. The x factor is 99 dollars minus shipping and handling. Tops, the x factor can't be more than 130 dollars total. Still considerably cheaper than tower 200.
CaptZor 2 years ago
no the tower 200 have stronger resistance bands, but you have to order along with other accesories like a bar, hand grips, and more anke straps.
tyrek12345 2 years ago
so the tower 200 is better than x factor right?
CaptZor 2 years ago
to be honest, I can't answer that because I don't have the x factor. all I can tell you is what i'm exoeriencing using the tower 200. as far as diminishing in quality or wear and tear, the tower 200 has a lifetime warranty so yu can get a new one if it malfunctions.
tyrek12345 2 years ago
Both machines are upgradeable. Both machines have their pros and cons. The lifetime warranty for the tower 200 only applies to the frame and not the bands, pulleys, or anything else. The X factor apparently comes with a lifetime warranty but according to the actual warranty card and customer service, it's only a 90 day warranty. But it does cover everything. "Better" is a very subjective term. For some this means resistance, for others this mean durability, versatility, quality, and value.

using the tower 200 combined with calesthenics, corework, and warrior cardio has skyrocketed my muscular endurance and in two out of the three weeks, i've dropped 15 pounds-i'm cutting weight to fight in the 253 and below category. i'm going to first fight @ 225 then cut down to 200 to see where I'm strongest in sumo. I say add tower 200 to your workout regimen-especially for muscular endurance- and I guarantee you will experience a difference. but you have to put in the work. GoD BLESS!!
tyrek12345 2 years ago
I have the tower 200 and a gym membership. I'm currently training in sumo wrestling-that's right sumo. there are different weight classes in sumo-and my wrestling has excelled using the tower 200. alot of people don't realize that weight training and resistance training are two different things. before tower 200, I could bench 225 over 30 times and I couldn't beat my sumo coach in one single match. i've been using the tower 200 for three weeks and within 3 weeks, i've beaten my coach 4 times.

listen . if you guys want to get in shape and stay that way... instead of buying crap like this ,, spend the money on personal training . there are gyms out their that will show you how to eat and work out based on what ever goal you have .. this is not going to get you to ur goals

oooanthonyooo 2 years ago
i respect your opinion, but everybody is diiferent. you don't have to have a gym membership or a tower 200 to get ripped. you don't need anything. you can do calethenics corework, and cardio and you can get the same results. there is no magic formula. it's simple. discipline, patience, and hardwork bottom line. i don't need a tower 200,but i use it as a supplementation and i do my own workout with it. there is nothing wrong using equipment-especially me because it's sports-specific.
tyrek12345 2 years ago
if you mean hiring a personal trainer you are completely out of your mind. However, I have been deciding what to buy for over 2 years and i came o the conclusion that PERSONAL workouts work the best. PUSHUPS, SITUPS, A FEW DUMBELLS and people will be amazed with results.. I agree, do not spend your money on this crap, better yet don't spend your MONEY ON ANYTHING except some dumbells and WHEY PROTEIN! you are set to go!!! do your own workouts in your own home forget all this marketing....

how much was it
MW2XxGlitcherxX 2 years ago
It seems like Weider is now on their third batch of X factors. There was a delay in shipping because they were making changes. What those new changes are, I don't know. But those issues you mentioned were fixed back in the second batch. It seem like the tower has more resistance, but at a price. I hooked up an extra set of 60lb bands in place of the 15lb bands and it definitely has more resistance. With that, the resistance is in 30lb increments, instead of 15, which can be a problem for some.

Quick question buddy. I just got this same machine. I was thkinking cause the setup in my room about setting up the pull up bar the other way..... towards the dip handles. do you think that would work? thanks..
jcrsix 2 years ago

Do these feel like real weights? Do curls with the 60lb band really feel like curling a 60lb dumbbell?
godgasm 2 years ago
I can only speak for the X factor. The short answer is no. But it's a bit more complicated than that. Because of the way the bands work, you don't need an equivalent resistance to get an equivalent workout. You can use a band that feels lighter, but after 10 reps it will feel like you curled a lot heavier weight. Look up accommodating resistance to see what I'm talking about. From what I understand, the tower is made of bungee and I'm not sure if the same principles apply in the same way.
G0NZ0x3 2 years ago
i hung real weights on the numbered bands the 15 lb. band came down over half way with an 8 lb. weight ... The 30 comes down pretty far with a 20 lb. weight .. I would say each band is only at its rated weight when pulled 3/4 the way to the floor...

G0NZ0x3 2 years ago
@G0NZ0x3 You can always return one of them if you buy both. Looks like Tower 200 has better resistance.
spartacus5518 2 years ago
@spartacus5518 It does look like it. But for the same price, I can order a set of 60 lb bands. I really do think that if I were to add another set, it would really have more resistance. Even if I were to return one, I don't exactly have the income. And I would only really do it for review purpose, and like I said, I'm not even sure if it's worth the hassle. Right now, I am pretty satisfied with the X factor. The range of motion is fun.
G0NZ0x3 2 years ago
i got the tower 200, 2 weeks ago, beening use it 5 times a week, gives me a good burn and a good workout. judging from this video i made the right choice in buying the tower i need more resistance.
rocky7687 2 years ago
ive owned both i returned the X-Factor and chose to keep the Tower.
