Deke falling off the stage at the end of the song was the best part! The sound was much better out in the audience and we could hear the solovox Deke was wrangling pretty well.
I love how the cameraman is laughing so hard that it shakes the whole way through! I still don't know exactly what happened, I practiced all week to the record and the thing was in tune! But when I got down there that night it was about a half step off...!? Oh well, it was good comedy!
Some history: Hammond Organ Co. Introduced the Solovox in 1940, it was the world's first synthesizer. They are designed to bolt up to the underside of the keyboard manual, and the on/off/volume is controlled by a knee lever. They are NOT designed for playing on one's lap. (Who'da thought this would be the trainwreck of the show instead of the 12 string nightmare?) I thought Deke did a pretty good job and fell over at just the right time (grin).
I sure hope DEke didnt hurt the solovox when he fell lol

@KoolKlipsFromDeke The Solovox has a reputation for drifting out of tune, much like the Hammond Chord Organ
