What a courageous young man. I watched a video of his last lecture and it was very touching and very inspirational at the same time. It's definitely worth seeing.
Wow, good stuff. I recently saw his 'last lecture' and it was incredible. Used to live in the 'Burgh and rode past this field on my bike too! Ha ha
The Steelers are a class act organization, definitely. glad Randy was able to do this and a Heinz Ward jersey/meet, to boot?!?! Killer. Way to go Randy. We all miss ya
Randy Pausch is a god damn hero for all of us.........if you cant learn something from his life and message of hope and love, then you dont deserve to live.
Watched this on TV. He was so cool. Just wish he was here to see us win the Super Bowl. Well, now that i think about it, he did see it-from the greatest seat in the house. And I bet him and Myron Cope cheered so loud that everyone in Hell heard them.
Randy was an amazing man! I absolutely look up to him and he is without a doubt the most influential person I've ever known about. A man worthy of immense respect. I saw his last lecture and I just couldnt believe me eyes as to how cool he was up there giving the talk. A strong man indeed. And that lecture has taught us all so much. All I can even hope for is to be 10% of how determined, practical and strong Randy was. May his soul rest in peace.
i look up for what this guy stood for he did let anything get in the way of his dreams he knew what he wanted and he went for it. i also belive that at the super bowl the steelers gave the win to randy as well as our dear myron and all of pittsburgh along with all the steelers fan to stuck with the team. but i really think it was for randy and myron all of steeler country and pittsburgh miss you guys.
He's a Unitarian Universalist actually. Though this religion incorporates atheism as a possible belief (or in that case, unbelief), he references his church in "The Last Lecture" book. That said, I'm don't think we can say for sure whether he was an atheist or not. He did say he liked Unitarian Universalism because it focused more on reason and logic than dogma though.
the man was only human, but look how he touched so many people with his message. Postive thinking is very powerful - that is one of the main points i take from the professor's lecture. Another is to make sure i periodically take time to evaluate whether the course my life is taking makes me a happy and fulfilled person. If not, I have the power to take steps towards happiness. Life doesn't have to be all work and no play.
This was so amazing that the Steelers let Randy do this. It was the last, if not one of the last few childhood dreams he never accomplished, and thanks to them he got to "be in the NFL" for atleast a day. Simply wonderful. He was such an amazing man! RIP Randy!
I have to get up for work in a few hours, and Dr's videos are much better than sleep. Thanks for making all these videos for us to learn from should something like cancer hit us, or the loss of a loved one. My Daddy died of cancer of the pancreas also. Still miss him today, and that was 1977.
great city and great football team. it's good to see people like ben and ward making a difference in our world by making wishes comming true for others. we need more people like the steelers and randy in this world.
This is truly the LAW OF ATTRACTION at work. He attracts the positive even though he has a severe negative thing going on in his life!!! Randy is a prime example of what GOD intends for all of us to live our lives like!!! He praises GOD in the shadows of Death and LIVES for each day to celebrate life and all it offers. He is TRULY an amazing example to promote to our children and our childrens children and keep passing on his memories. GOD BLESS YOU RANDY AND YOUR FAMILY!!!
WOW....This story is so inspirational. I hope that people watching this can learn to appreciate life to it's fullest. Hines Ward showed what a class act is supossed to be. And thank you Steelers for giving this man something he will NEVER forget.
why does bad stuff happen to the greatest ppl with the purest heart and good stuff happen to the darkest of hearts. He looks so scrawny now makes me wanna cry
Because this "bad stuff" happened to this great man the entire world got to know and learn who he was. I for one am grateful that during a time when the rest of us would go into a shell and be angry he decided to do what he does best and taught us all a lesson.
this man is amazing. send your friend to this link "Dr. Randy Pausch - from Oprah", because is more complete (10 minutes).
If you think that somebody are really interesting send them to this link "Andy Pausch Lecture: Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams". (01:16:26 From: carnegiemellonu)
Who are this people who make those subtitle? C'mon, a man who has accomplished so many things they discribe as 'CMU professor Battling Cancer'. That sounds pretty unrespectful to me, to be honest.

Watching this makes me think two things:
What an amazing guy Randy was, and what a douchebag Ben Roethisberger is... if the NFL doesn't, he should be suspended by the team

I saw his last lecture at CMU. What an unbelievable man. I'm sure he's pulling for us right now, and The Chief has a nice easy chair ready for him.

"you get to that Super Bowl, I'll live to see it."
Now the Steelers are one win away from getting to the Super Bowl but sadly, Pausch isn't with us anyway. Man, he would've loved to see that.
