  • Ha I have the EXACT same lamps!

  • Hmm, a remote, eh? I should see if I can do that.

  • I still have a shakey camera even if I use sticky putty or as it's called here Blu Tack.

  • @901superdude Yeah it's not perfect but it's better than nothing. Unless you use a webcam, have a remote taking the pictures or use a tri-pod you will unfortunately always have camera shake. Blu-Tack just helps lessen it.

  • what if u dont have stick putty, a tripod, or a remote, how can u take pictures with the camera?

  • @MrChristophermc I would buy some putty. It's only like $5 or less at home depot or any other stores like that.

  • thanks it helped even though I used 1 light

  • @DarksideLegoStudios Where could one get pudding, or whatever its called?

  • @xxxOUTBURSTxxx You can get putty in a lot of places. I think I got this at home depot for like $2.

  • What lamps are you using there please help ??

  • @TinyBricksTv They're Intertek desk lamps that I bought at Target. Really any desk lamps will do, I just got them because they're cheap and I didn't have other desk lamps at home.

  • @DarksideLegoStudios

if you dont mind maybe next time you could tell us how to do lego animation

  • @matthewguiney941 Yeah, that is what I'm planning on doing. Sorry that it's taking so long to make lol.

  • @aduckproDUCKtion I plan on making more of these, but I am pretty busy so I can't guarantee how often I'll be able to put them up. Hopefully I can put up part 2 in the next few weeks to a month.

  • Very Good! You the only one so I might send you a couple prizes!

  • @forrestfire100000 Thanks dude!

  • Hey man, what kind of camera remote is that? And will it work on a Kodak Camera?

  • @Darthpennsylvania972 It's just a remote that happened to come with my camera and since it's a Cannon remote then I assume it wouldn't work for a Kodak. They probably sell Kodak remotes on Amazon or eBay though.

  • simple, but good.

  • Hey, so some of my characters' faces get overshadowed by their hats, what should I do?

  • @StrawberryCamo try positioning the lights to be at a lower angle so that there are no shadows. altho personally when i use paper to diffuse the light i never even get any shadows.

  • what camera are u using

  • @themaxbailey I use a cannon vixia hf200 but for brick filming purposes it's really not a great camera. I'd recommend a Quickcam Pro 9000 if you really want to get another camera.

  • Right now I only have one desk lamp. Is there anyway I can avoid flickering when I animate?

  • @KDWorldBrickPix Yes, as long as you follow all the other steps I think you should be okay. I used to just use one lamp to animate too. You just have to be extra careful, that's all.

  • i use a backlight and a peice of folded paper so the paper reflects the light

  • thanks!

  • tanks but how do u get ur picture to look so good i mean with good quality and stuff like that

  • @KickX007 as long as you have good lighting, and you have HD resolution (or close to it) then the quality should come out good. is there anything specifically wrong with your quality (like is the picture grainy or something?)

  • I use these exact same strategies! good advice! and we're gunna win your contest!

  • what is your camera you are using called? Also do you have to take a bunch of pictures to move them?

  • @patrickthePEZ sorry i didnt respond sooner... the camera I use (which is different than the one sown in this video) is called a cannon vixia hf200. But, if you want to get a new camera I would recommend something smaller like a Legitech Quickcam Pro 9000. And to answer your other question, it takes a lot of pictures.... about 15 for every second of video.

  • Thank you! Time to get animating even better! Fav!

  • @nascarlegoboy Yeah it does, but whenever there's shadows there's normally light flicker :( At least that's how it works for me.

  • Sweet =D Great tip of the paper to cover the lights i should try that lol

  • how much watts are your bulbs?

  • @electricanimations1 60 watts

  • @DarksideLegoStudios the reason why i ask is because i cant put paper over mine and mines only 18 and 13 watt bulbs because my dad thinks im gonna burn the house down do you think theres any other way to get rid of light flicker

  • @electricanimations1 Here are a few other tips:

    Close your curtains

    Film at night

    Wear dark clothes

Make sure you aren't creating shadows by blocking light from going on the set

Put your camera settings on manual, ALL OF THEM

Check that it isn't your light bulb that is flickering

    Hope this helps!

  • @DarksideLegoStudios k ill check for that thanks for the tips:D

  • @DarksideLegoStudios cool video

  • great tutorial!
