Never is there any information or context for why the situatution on the ground is as it is. Most of the time the people are refugees fleeing some War that was caused as a result of factions fighting for control after the fall of colonialism. The people were never able to plant crops for the season and as a result are facing starvation.
By not articulating exactly why the refugees are facing starvation, the rest of the world are left with the bogus assumption that Africans simply can't provide for themselves. The need for Aid is real and should be provided but information for why the situation is like it is must also be told. We'd be foolish not to believe that there is not an agenda to show Africans in the worst light possible by showing these images without context.
The old saying, A Picture is worth a thousand words is true. Showing Africans starving without information for why, does a tremendous amount of damage. For example, there is nothing stopping African fashion designers, companies or governments from buying time in Western media outlets and producing shows that promotes the brilliance and ingenuity of African designers and professionals. But most of the ignorance is born out of Western media and educational institutions propaganda machines. That's why a deliberate strategy must be developed to obliterate the negative message. For decades that same white dude have been showing images of African babies with bloated bellies and flys in their eyes. Never is there any information or context for why the situatution on the ground is as it is. Most of the time the people are refugees fleeing some War that was caused as a result of factions fighting for control after the fall of colonialism. The people were never able to plant crops for the season and as a result are facing starvation.

Why are people giving my comment thumbs down? I understand that Africans have always been players in international trade. I'm referring to taking control of that same trade. Not simply exporting raw materials to Europe, the U.S. and Asia. I want to see Africans develop the Raw Materials into finished goods for sale to other economies. It just so happens, in college i do in fact study diversity, as well as politics so dont lecture me on it. If im able to survive? Whats that supposed to me? Am i going get killed because im supposedly racist :O? And you cant study spelling, you can study literature or language, spelling isnt really invoved though. And stop nit picking on my spelling, otherwise i'll nit pick about you not being able to do a front sommersualt to front drop onto a back sommersault on a trampoline.
